- I had the privilege of getting my hands on GAIA2. It’s a truly unique synthesizer. It’s as if Serum had a hardware version, it would be similar to GAIA2. It’s a highly versatile and flexible synthesizer, and I love playing with it. That sounds like a lot of fun! Exploring and playing with different preset patches on GAIA2 can be a great way to discover its range of sounds and capabilities. If you have any questions or if there’s anything specific you’d like to discuss or share about your experience with these patches, feel free to let me know.

I found this to be a great demo and looks like so much fun to play with!
Roland rocks
Best Gaia 2 demo I've seen so far! You made me go from "meh" to "I absolutely need this synth" 🔥🔥🔥
Best demo? Maybe look around, all that was is presets and the odd rotary twist - showed nothing of it's actual workflow or potential.
This thing is super fun and I shook my house with it. 👽
Better sound demo than Anderton's. 👍 A lot of people are displeased with the price tag of "Gaiatsu". In particular since ASM has got an aftertouch for less money, and raspberry pi Korgs are simply cheaper with more voices. Every kaosspad user goes: "Finally Roland - an X-Y touch-pad!" 😜
Gaia2 is a better synth in every way than the original was so it's a good thing. A bit of a bummer it's not proper Zen-core and not multi timbral.
Not proper Zen-Core? How? I have no idea.... can you shed some light?
@@djkanyon It's not Zen-Core Synthesis engine like Juno X JupiterX/Xm. It's more like SH-4D, it accepts Expansion sound packs, but does not fully simulate the models. I suspect not enough computational hardware power. Watch Loopop overview.
Every single synth make and model is truly unique.
No doubt provides tons of cool sounds but not sure a supercharged DX7 is right for me very cool tho
DX7 is a FM synth. This is virtual analog and wavetable, so a bit different.
@@macks2025 "an FM synth", you're welcome.
Am I alone thinking that the SH-4D is a much better offering? has 4 synth tracks, a drum track with tons of kits, and is just as hands on.
Much better for who? You, or just in general? Yes the SH-4D is all of those things, but it lacks the immediacy and keys, so I'd wager that one doesn't replace the other. Instead, you can have a very capable synth in the form of the GAIA 2, accompanied by the SH-4D for backing sequences and drums. That, right there, is plenty of sonic potential that is easily transportable if needed. Sure it's got limitations, but it also comes at a price that's hard to argue unless you are anti-Roland like plenty in these comments.

Yup, it's kinda Serum in the box (also reminds me of Spire). Not sure that almost a grand is a good deal for that kind of sound but hey one gotta pay for the brand. But i have a hunch that new Gaia will not be popular as Roland hopes to.
The demo is great...but the sound is strange, quite metallic with not so much deep end, it's nothing I can't get from a...free VST, lol.
The interface is of course well thought out...they also rediscovered the touch pad, it came out 1997, with Korg Z1.
Believe it or not, it isn't a requirement that every product ever released by every company needs to appeal to every single person on the planet. Plenty of synths these days are essentially just plugins in a casing with encoders, faders and keys, especially at this price. What do you think the Roland Zen technology is? By all means go head and use a free VST, but good luck finding a control interface that 1:1 maps with it. Disingenuous statements about rediscovering the touch pad do nothing to improve your cause.
I'd also urge those saying it sounds quite metallic to firsty, stop copycatting what others say, and secondly, listen to it through a decent speaker system. Also helps if you watch a demo that actually demonstrates the synth, not just showcases presets. A synth is for synthesis, clue in the name and all that.

Why don´t you...just get a life? Also, you are those people who don´t understand a joke. Please don't EVER watch the "Bad Gear" channel with Florian, you would go insane!
Further, it's not YOU who made the demo...who are you, an opinion-police? lol
Thanks for allowing me to comment whatever I want to comment on a gear, without your allowance! 🙂
The sound of this synth SUCKS big time, ANY other synth sounds better, it hurts me to say, as a synth lover, it's worse than any Behringer synth I ever heard...and I liked Roland synths, had a D50 as my first one, it sounds WORSE than a lush Roland D50!
it has some fun control design but sounds mediocre, better sounding better value synths out there
Such as?
If you want a "best of both" hybrid, you're looking at something like a Super 6. Sounds better, sure, but also costs 3 times as much.
Yup,once again.... ROLAND. OVERPRICED,,
Wait a year or 2 for the price to go down.
Overpriced? Yet people like Native Instruments can release controllers that have no sounds at all in them for a similar price and nobody bats an eyelid? I think people need to get their heads out of their backsides and look at the relative cost of synths compared to things like the DX7 , D50 and M1 when they released. You'll find that adjusted for inflation, those things cost the equivalent of around £4,000 in todays money. Something like the GAIA 2 offers a full, albeit digital, synthesis engine with heaps of expansion, solid multi-effects, and a plethora of hands-on controls for a fraction of that cost. So yeah, might be overpriced for you and your financial circumstance, but for the market it is cheap.
It’s going for 800😂
Yep,,, still over priced...

Whats the Unique bit??
Its basicaly a korg Modwave for more money whilst getting kicked into the dust by a Hydrasynth.
At this price piont Roland are simply a Meme!!.
Doubt it, Korg cost more bud and Hydrasynth is mediocre
