Having a second tall forward creates such better balance for us. Lewis is no longer constantly being double teamed, Breust was receiving crumbs like 2015, Wings gets down the field and involved in the game and Kozzy regularly gets 1v1 outsized forward marking situations instead of being stuck in a pack all game. Sam Mitchell should be proud of his player development and game strategy because the supporters sure are! 😀👍👍

Very satisfying win. I hope we continue with the three tall forwards, Lewis, Kosi and "Sticks" Ryan for the rest of the year. It prevents us playing Reeves and Meek together, which I have liked at times this year but if those three can get some synergy, it becomes a potent forward line.

@@mareewalker1096 Having Chol as the second tall target makes Gunners very dangerous again. He is a very hard matchup if anyone is playing their third best defender on him. It also allows Lewis some flexibility, some of his better games this year he played up the ground a fair bit. Chol doesn't even need to kick a lot of goals, if he can get to a lot of contests and prevent intercept marks, the smalls will have a nice time.
If we get 210 goals from the six you named, we would only need 4 goals per game from the rest to average about 90 points per game. That would probably win more games than it loses.
Lewis 65, Bruest 40, Gunston 35, Chol 25, Ginnivan 25 Moore 20 seems well within possibilities to me. Injuries may play a part and take away a few goals but If I let myself dream, it could work better.

Do the math on that! We get a gun pick 4 and McCabe ! And don't forget Massimo he is a serious talent 20 years old! He has a lethal foot on him! In my opinion the best player out of all we got chol Gianni Massimo will be Massimo! Watch his highlights he is going to be a weapon! Trust me! Completely different team next year and all players are quality! Maybe chol may not work out but they will get a gun key forward end of next year as a trade ! 4 big names up for grabs! But ginni Massimo pick 4 and McCabe will all be serious players! And don't forget Denver he showed great signs as a forward in a few games! @@mareewalker1096 Yeah, all good signs. Denver needs to find a spot as a forward. I hope we take Curtin in the draft at pick 4 or it will be 5 after GC academy at pick two, but Curtin and McCabe could be pillars for the next decade. Not sure where the whole thing leaves CJ though? Is he in our best 22? Hard to play D'Ambrosio, Weddle and CJ in the same backline. Also Seamus Mitchell.
It is a good thing to have pressure on spots though, we have lacked depth for the last couple of years.

Loving our tall forward line I hope the 3 of them are played together long term
So nice to finally see the fwd line functioning properly. Lewis getting a chop out from Kosi and Sticks(great mid season recruit) Breust having the space in front of the packs to work. Our mids look tougher and are working well to spread as soon as they win the ball. No over reliance on handball in the midfield means quicker use I50 with a less loaded backfield. Blanck is a solid defender who rarely stuffs up. Dimma and Sicily control the backline and the younger fellas are learning fast. Ward, Weddle, Mitchell look very good. Loved Mitchells hardness with Daicos. Jumper punches aren't my thing but he wasn't going to let Daicos out muscle him and Daicos chose to take a dive for the free.
This side looks the goods. Balanced grunt, hard run and skill. If we keep this up finals arent far away.

Breust will play more than 300 games. He's never had a serious injury and plays a style of game which rarely means he gets belted. He's an amazing footballer.

I think the hawks have had enough success. They have had low draft picks so they're supposed to be on that part of the ladder. This is coming from an Eagles fan, so no bias
If it was only one good win then you may have a point. Wins over Brisbane and Collingwood who will both be top four and StKilda who were close to top four at the time is a great result for a team that most so called experts predicted would finish last.
It has been far from a terrible year anyway. This year, success was never going to be measured by wins and losses.
