October update! Ruddington Carriage Shed construction progress at Great Central.

The new carriage shed building at Ruddington on the Great Central Railway (Nottingham) is taking shape rapidly.
This update is from the middle of October 2023 and we go behind the scenes as new steelwork is installed for the roof. The building is still on course to be finished by the end of 2023.
It will store 4 operational carriages and also be an event space. In the short term it will help trains run on the northern section of the Great Central towards Loughborough. When the two halves of the line are reunified (see www.gcrailway.co.uk/unify for more information) it will be able to support train operations over the entire GCR.
The building is almost fully funded. We have an appeal on going to raise the last few thousand pounds to fit it out with a roller shutter doors and electrics.
