@@twongreen9968 Facts. I’ve had a Q50, 340i, and now a G37. G37 build quality and materials is insanely better than both the Q50 and 340i. The BMW had creaks everywhere, as of right now my G37 has one when the cup holder cover is open. If closed doesnt make noise.
I've got the 06 with the luxury sound system. I did some radio and some AUX (through the rear RCA jacks) and the sound was so so. Then I put in a CD. WOW!! There is simply no comparison. The CD sound is an effing revelation. I's amazing - particularly the surround effects but in general so much more quality loudness and presence. I dusted off my old CD collection and now I'm in bliss. And so happy my old CDs live again. I am so glad I bought this car a few weeks ago. 145k, in great shape, some minor cosmetics and steering issues. What a deal for 2 grand. Yes, I got a steal of a deal. Wonder how some MP3s will sound? Apparently I can burn a DVD full of MP3s and play them too, through the center console DVD player.
What a shame that we're looking at a 13-year-old car and thinking "damn, that was one of the good Infinitis." The M35/45 was exceptional. Now I don't even know if Infiniti sells a large sedan or just the QX56 (or whatever the hell the new terrible name is) and the FX-QXwhatever and the G or Qsomething now probably too that has the crappy dynamics and shitty infotainment
You really need to put a CD in there if you want the full experience. And the DVD system takes amazing advantage of the speakers. It's really cool playing Zootopia and hearing that opening scene with the crazy panning the audio does.
Mine came with a Hotel Transylvania dvd.. Try searching for Dolby atmos thx audio clips on CZcams and yes you will be blown away by the sounds that 5.1, 14 speaker Bose is so underrated
Actually being an 08+ it is a touch screen. Also if you had an older iPod or early iPhone you can use the Apple direct cable and can control the unit from the screen and joyknob. I have an 09 Sport with Tech. Its my favorite car.
I have the identica car and set up which is adequate at best. Upgraded the door speakers which made a huge difference. Couldn't believe how cheap and flimsy the stock bose speakers were that were removed. The base model M stereo system is awful.
This is seriously good considering the age of the technology and the use that's been placed on it already.

The QX80 and Qx60 are getting some love, maybe infiniti is finally starting to turn around... maybe.
i always liked this car, when Infiniti was on the top of their game.
It actually is touch screen. I had mine for 3 months before I realized it was touch screen.
Did you know you could program all 6 preset channels to tune only to FM stations, it's a hack I discovered by accident

Which is crazy, they expanded to a whole bunch of new markets and shot themselves in the foot over and over and now have pulled out.
Has been a fast descent for Infiniti.

I don't believe so, @@twongreen9968 I'm in a similar situation with the GPS map, 2012 was its last update i.e. the newer map DVD wont work with it.
The M35 and the G35 with the 6 speed manual were both legends.
M35&m45 didnt come with manuals

What happened to 5.1 audio? In the mid 2000s Lexus, Infiniti and Acura had them w the dvd audio and I thought they sounded amazing.
I bought about twenty 5.1 CD's for my 2007 M35. Sounded absolutely amazing!!! Best car ever!
