I must say to me you seem so natural and confident in front of the camera. I'd say it comes off to me as like you've been doing this your whole life. I've loved every video so far and even if I have different opinions on something the way you approach topics makes that difference irrelevant and I'm happy to hear what you have to say. Also, congratulations to you and your wife on the new place. Can't wait to see what design ideas you have. Wish you all the best in this endeavor. Bye for now.

I've had this controller for like half a year now and love it. The only problem I had was lag on the PC version, which I ended up resolving by just resetting the controller + updating it again on the PC app. Has held up better than my actual Switch pro controller, and being able to switch between modes and have the controller immediately pair + work on the new device is so nice. If you're a multiplatform gamer I think it's a better deal than other controllers.

Great Review.. I love the Pro 2, also have the SN30 Pro Plus. You need to try those back buttons, after a while you really get used to them and its so good for L3 (which is Sprint in so many games) and its much more comfortable to press a back button then the left stick imho =)

This is definitely my go-to pad for 3D games...
I'm a stick guy myself but I find this controller to be so insanely practical that I will often opt for it out of preference even when I would probably otherwise enjoy using an arcade stick a bit more for the stuff that only needs two degrees of movement...
A strong part in that thought process comes from the fact that the D-Pad on it is even more Nintendo like these days then... Well... Nintendo... 😅

I picked this up recently due to my pro controller thumbsticks feeling weird. Not a drift issue it could just be normal wear and tear. This controller imo could beat the pro controller if the grips had better material and included bigger battery but for $50 at the time I got it for $40 this has insane value. Without a doubt highly recommend, my only negative is not waking up my switch. That’s about it, my other comments are nitpicking.

Received this today through Amazon. Was delivered about 40 hours after ordering at no extra cost and was $20 CDN cheaper than a PS4 from Wallmart. I found XBox and PS4 controllers both suffered from stick drift after 2-3 months of use, because they use a potentiometer mechanism for x, y, directional rotation. In games like Elden Ring, stick drift means death. So far I am impressed. The surface texture reminds me of a military yoke my friends and I adapted for PC years ago. It was nonslip in case a pilots hands were contaminated by sweat or oil, and like the 8BitDo Pro 2, was constructed from materials of high quality with outstanding structural integrity. The easy access replaceable, rechargeable battery is unique, and a long overdue feature in any wireless device. If it lasts long enough that I have to replace the battery, like my Acer Predator Helios 300 laptop has, I will probably invest in the company.

The underside paddles are pretty useful and takes time to get used to, since I play dmc 3 special edition a lot on my switch, just recently got this controller and having to use the select button to taunt on a fully hand held controller feels really weird and awkward after using the minus button on handheld joycons on the switch for so long that I made the underside paddles the select button to taunt which became way more comfortable than having to navigate my thumb all the way to the select button in the middle of the controller

I really wanted to like this controller. I was excited for it to arrive today, but after only an hour of play, I’m sending it back. There are a couple small things I don’t like, like the indents in the dpad getting in the way of quick movements. I could lean to adapt to this, but those sharp ridges on the body under the triggers are TERRIBLE and made this a non starter. After only an hour I already have the start of a bump on the side of my knuckles on my middle fingers. Without the ridges, I would give this contoller a 4/5 because of the rough dpad. But those ridges make it a solid 0/5. Damaging your fingers make it a fail.

As someone with larger hands and a preference to the PS layout, this controller really appeals to me. You mention that the battery is rechargeable, but no mention how to charge it? Via a USB-C cable, separate charging dock, etc. Looking at their controller manual, it looks like it can be used wired which is cool if maybe the battery died it's not dead weight. Would have liked a close-up on some of the oddball buttons [Home, Star, Profile] to understand better what they do or are for. Appears that the Bluetooth adapter needs to be purchased separately, though I wonder if it works with a generic BT adapter if you have one of those.
All that being said, great review. My old gamepad controller for PC [Steelseries 3GC] is on it's last legs and this looks like a great replacement

I have an older edition of this controller, the SN30 pro+, and I can confirm that it works just fine without a battery on both Switch and PC. Something broke inside and it no longer receives electricity from any battery that's placed in the battery compartment, but I took the battery out and left the compartment empty, and I now connect it to the Switch or PC with a USB-C cable. (Do note, to get the best performance on Switch, you should go to Settings > Controllers and Sensors and turn on "Pro Controller Wired Communication". If you don't do this, the controller will just receive power from the cable and still connect to the Switch wirelessly, which is redundant.)
I could perhaps find fault with the controller for the fact that the battery connection broke after only about three years, but the fact that it so easily works without a battery at all is a huge plus.

I keep hearing how it’s the best Dpad and i know it’s supposed to have a similar Dpad to the SNES controller but i havent used one of those since i was 12 and I can’t remember if they were this bad but my DPAD for the 8bitdopro2 is so bad. It feels so jammed. Like i cant rock back and forth in two directions easily. it just feels mushy. And its too big. im so used to using ps4 controller and xbox and stuff and having a DPAD i can get a satisfying input from and rock my thumb left to down easily in pac man but with this controller it doesn’t work well. i hate it. its a shame because i love literally everything else about the controller
