J.S.Bach - AIR ON THE G STRING for organ solo (BWV 1068) [Hauptwerk // Noordbroek]

  • In this video you can hear my rendition of J.S.Bach’s “Air on the G String” played on my Hauptwerk organ. I have chosen to use the sample set of Noordbroek, created by Sonus Paradisi. This arrangement is made by Gordon Philips.
What could I possibly write about is ultra famous piece from Bach's 3rd Orchestral Suite No. 3 in D major, BWV 1068.
Everything has been written so instead sit back and hopefully relax to my rendition of perhaps the most famous baroque music ever written.

Anyone playing bach must understand the rich emotions throughout his compositions. I would serve bach like a disciple just to have an opportunity to please in even a learned way, the hearts of my superiors and authorities. Thank you for your love sir, you inspire us daily. 🙏🏻

@@philipaggesen Sweetbox?! No, I never intended to compare your rendition to that pop song. But I do confess - mea culpa - that I like Johann Sebastian Bach in many shapes and forms. For example, I like the English ensemble "Art of Moog" or quite a lot of pieces on the CD with the rather odd name "Red Hot Bach".

Bach wrote this piece as part of an orchestral suite. In 1871 August Wilhelmj's transposed the music to C major so that it could be played on the first violins G string. Strange how this piece is always know by this title even when played on an organ. Have to say you played this brilliantly and the sound recording was first class.
