Godfather is certainly a right of passage
You grow up your whole life hearing it’s the greatest movie of all time and when you finally see it you understand why. In a time where everything is so hyped and ultimately let’s you down, I can almost guarantee no one is let down after watching Pacino get anointed the new don and the credits roll .

Prosegold , my older sister and I went to see it when it first came out when I was 13 and she was 15 ... it was around Easter and an unusually cold and blustery with some snow flurries .
I remember a number of times during the movie we felt uncomfortable and sometimes were shocked ... but the movie was riveting and totally absorbed our attention .
That movie definitely somehow matured or aged us .
      And then when Godfather 2 with DeNiro came out '74 / '75 ... ?
... we could not believe how good that story was .

This film can be regarded as the last Great American Classic..Star Wars is considered a favorite.....I'm extremely proud to know my late Uncle S.Neil Fujita designed the iconic artwork for the novel and the poster artwork of the iconic letterhead and puppethand n strings....Mario Puzo called my uncle "...Neil, I need you to do a book cover on this thing I'm doing about the mob...." uncle read the early galleys to get ideas....when the premiere happened in nyc, uncle halted the billboard from being posted hours before...because he still owned the artwork image and a financial agreement had to be drawn up immediately before the premiere.....

Marlon Brando's portrayal of "Don Vito Corleone" is, in my humble opinion, the GREATEST acting in cinematic history. Every single time that I watch "The Godfather" I again wish that "Don Vito" was my Dad. Although he's head of one of the most powerful of "The 5 Family's" in New York City. Although I know that he had to have been ruthless and cutthroat to achieve his status, I still wish that he could be my Father. Just a magnificent job of acting in a once in this lifetime role.

If this film was such an incredible moment for Mark Seal and if he spent all those years researching the story, how does he still not know (2:24) that the director's name is pronounced KO-po-luh and not KAH-puh-luh (as the reporter shows he understands)? That's like writing a bio of George S. Patton and then calling him "General Payton."

Because, the last time I checked, pointing a revolver point blank at someone and shooting them in the throat, or lighting a dude up at a toll booth isn't very femine.
