I was thinking the same thing. If I tried to cut my 😺 nails my cat would put 🐾 on me along with scratches . I let my vet clip my cat nails when he get sedated or Petco. I would need medical attention 🤕if I tried 😂
Oh, if only I could show you all the scars I have all over my hands, arms, chest, and one on my NOSE from trimming the nails of ONE of the cats I used to have, I named her Yuna. When I went to get her spayed, I LEGIT warned the vet she is gonna need those thick leather armpit high gloves to handle that cat, because she was such a vicious bitch and would scratch and bite EVERYONE except for my husband. I don't even know anymore how many scratches I have all over me because of that cat. She has since passed, and I totally loved her but dang, that cat was evil acting.
I had to take my pug to the vet to get her nails trimmed and she screamed bloody murder in the exam room, making people in the waiting room think she was seriously injured or ill. She was perfectly fine.
@Dmdm_dm because they are filled with dirt and bacteria, and if you let them grow long enough, then they will eventually pierce the animals paw. Some people just cut the animals nails prevent them from scratching furniture or people

They have learned it's either mommy or daddy that will do it and mommy doesn't clip their nails as short because kitties need claws. It means it has to be done more often, but they seem to understand the trade-off. They've also learned that if they just sit there and cooperate, it's over much faster. Our 2 Siamese still have yell and growl the entire time, but I no longer have to purrito them to get. the job done. The others just sit there grumble a bit toward the end but they don't mind nearly as much. Cats are so dramatic. I just love them.

In my country it’s illegal to breed with Scottish folds. And in Europe the cat fancy don’t recognize the breed. It’s a severe genetic disease, that can course the cat a lot of pain.
OMG you sooo have a gift!! I have “cats” and neither my husband nor I can trim any of their nails! They will let a perfect stranger (a groomer) do it, but not us!!! I love Chase and wish mine would hug like he does!! 💜🐈⬛💜
Just use a regular small hand nail clipper grooming nail cutter to gently trim the feline domesticated kitty 🐈 cat nails when the get a little longer in length. Clip exact accurate and fast. Only the white part. Never on the pink area. So no pain. Feel cared for by everyone. Ok. 😊
One of our four cats is about that bad. Sometimes, the only way we can trim her claws is for my wife to hold her, pet her, shield her face, and otherwise distract her while I trim the claws. Sometimes that doesn’t work, and the only thing I can do is sit beside her, pull her tight to me, and then trim. She hates, loathes, and despises being scruffed (she will seriously hurt you if you try that), and wrapping her in a towel to try to “purrito” her also doesn’t work well.

I clip the cats’ nails when a new cat came into the house. I put them into a pillow case and brought out one paw after the other. Works great. I clipped only the front paws.

I always used nail clippers for people. Less bulk makes them much easier to hold and angle for the cut.
