Very thorough run-through of a scanning setup! We really agree with you on the copystand issue - there really aren't many good options dedicated to camera scanning at a decent price. Working on it... For people who don't want to invest all in in the Advancer, you can actually use the Holders without it! About the knobs you had mentioned, we have designed and manufactured a new type that attaches differently to fix this issue of over tightening. We do replace the knobs for people who have issues with them :)
Hey! That is an amazing customer service opportunity with the knobs! I would love to check that out! And I can’t wait for your copy stand solution! I am designing my own as well! Maybe we should colab! Hit my email up
You actually wouldn't want to go past, say, f/11. The maximum viable f number would depend on how big the pixels are. Smaller the pixel pitch, smaller the ideal f number. Once you go past that sweet spot, the image starts becoming softer due to the effects of diffraction. Usually f/8 is the sweet spot for any lens and camera combination that has a wider than f/8 aperture.
Thanks for this. I'm having issues w/ my Valoi holder. The knobs seems to stop advancing the film after a handful of spins. I think I may need to loosen the screws?
do you have the STL for that 3d print? I had to get the new Raleno light which doesn't fit the light holder and I don't want to shell out additional $65

Haha thanks! I’m super busy in wedding season at the moment but I’ll design it soon!

Yes, that is the problem! It’s weird to do that but yeah!

Which one is the new one? do you have a link. I am not sure my file will fit it if it isnt the same.
@@film_friends the light in this video is the new one. I had the older one that didn’t have a screen and it’s shaped sightly smaller.
@@stargatefreak666 oh you are saying you are trying to buy the one from them?>
No I was wondering if you are willing to share the .stl for the 3d print in the video that holds the light (7:06)
