    If coming to Slovenia I advise you to just rent a car. It is pretty affordable and you don't have to rely on our public transport + it only takes about 4 hours to drive from one side of the country to the other.
    Love from Ljubljana❤

    Audrey, Sam, thank you again for your wonderful videos and that advice on leaving at the end. We were thinking of visiting Prague and Croatia (watched your videos on Dubrovnik and Split), but this video makes me want to add Lake Bled to our trip. What is it with Sam and his moustache, he kept growing it and shaving it. I swear, in one video he started out without one and at the end, had a full one! Hahaha!

    Back from Ljubljana 3 weeks ago, and bummed that I remembered to leave Lake Bled early enough and eat the Kremsnita . which was so delicious.. but didnt remember your recommendation for the restaurant where you had lunch. Since we did the Vintgar hike in the morning, we which was amazing and climbed up to the castle... we were too knackered to do the hike around the lake. All in all it was a day to remember. On the whole we loved Slovenia, such a charming place with wonderful people. And the Postjona caves were just surreal. Recommend those to anyone visiting Slovenia, either those or the Skocjan.

    Holy Moses! What is up with Samuel? From the vanity of camera angles to puckering up his lips for a smooch due to the "swan of love" this one was hoot! Lake Bled looks like a wonderful spot to visit. Slovenia is such a great country and culture. The people are some of the best people in the world. Couple Slovenia's lake bled with Sam and Audrey and you have a fun video to experience. Thank you for sharing.

    We went 5 years ago and had planned to take a bus too. Since there were 4 of us a taxi was cost effective and saved much time. We stayed overnight and our host drove us to the train station which eventually got us back to Italy with our pre purchased tickets. We would love to return and explore Ljubljana!

    Top drawer video as usual. I hope we see you on PBS here in the U.S. some day. Your younger age, very high video production quality, and story line persona as a couple makes you a deserving candidate and what would be a breath of fresh air for them too. Your pitch should be that you cover the world, not just Europe, and would have wider appeal because you do it as a young bi-lingual couple, not from an aging male (or female) perspective alone who frankly is getting just a tad bite senile. Old quarterbacks do fad away. Count me as one of them too and even I see that.

    Yet another cool video from you guys. My husband and I watch heaps of your travels videos when we're heading off somewhere, and have purposely been to a few of the cafes and restaurants you guys visit, even going so far as to have exactly what you ordered. (A very notable breakfast at a café in Bratislava with Sam getting 2 kinds of hummus on toast, one normal and one beetroot with pomegranate. Thanks for the thumb's up Sam. I probably wouldn't have had the courage to order that) We love food too :D It's really been quite fun copying you. We leave for a long awaited trip in 2 days time, and we will be going to Lake Bled, so yet again we cyber stalked you to see what you guys got up to there. Fortunately we're staying very near the lake so won't have to deal with the end of day transport drama you guys had, but maybe it's been sorted out by now anyway. Thanks heaps to the both of you and happy travels to us all.

    Been there the past summer on our way to Triglav. Superb place for a holiday, but the autumn colours makes a fairy tail destination. The castle entrance fee is indeed overpriced. We hiked to the opposite hill where the famous bench is located and got some nice views. High five - I do the same thing for my mother. But you guys travel so much, yours might have to buy another fridge to fit them all.

    "Kremšnita" is not so local (the name is German, after all), but they do make it very well there. Another place to try it is Samobor near Zagreb (and, of course, every pastry shop in Slovenia and Croatia has them, but the quality varies - some are more like flan).

    It just seems so bizarre that they wouldn't have enough buses at the end. They are probably on a schedule and I guess one bus can absorb a certain number of unscheduled travellers travelling at different times than stated on the ticket, but not a whole lot. I hope they fixed that problem somehow. Also, I see you went during the beginning of late autumn, when they probably reduce the number of buses because the weather can turn bad and there are fewer tourists arriving out of season anyway, but in your case the weather was great, ergo more tourists.

    Do you use Google maps much to plan transit travel

    • @samuelandaudrey
      @samuelandaudrey  Před 6 lety +2

      We use that often actually! Most of the time it is accurate but sometimes it isn't. For instance right now we're in Italy and they're only showing the main train lines but not the regional ones as options. I find google maps at first and confirmed by an article and I feel confident about it.

      You can easily walk from the bus station to the Castle. It is like 10-15 minutes.

      We did walk a lot that day but on an average day if we eat a big meal we tend to eat really lightly the rest of the day. Audrey is better at managing her weight than I am ;)

      Great video! Yes, we noticed that as well. We stayed in Zagreb and went to Ljubljana .... Slovenia is severely underrated and it offers a lot. Check out our video in Lake Bled and Ljubljana: czcams.com/video/z8QEYC1p99Y/video.html

      She is actually from Sevnica, small town north of Novo Mesto. She was probably just born in Novo Mesto where the regional maternity hospital is.

      For them not being Slavic, their pronounciation is pretty damn good. The accent is slightly wrong sure, but the pronounciation is almost spot on considering that they're English. Honestly, what do you expect? Even some Slovenian dialects accent words wrongy and not according to the grammar (if you're from Styria or Prekmurje, you do a lot of it wrong for instance) so it's definitely not fair to call out a foreigner on it.
