Made three ranger bands about four inches long. I wrestled them into place. They look good too! Happy new year my old friend. 😎
I used to roll without over strike guards now I run with the leather ones and they save the handles big time! Filming in the maple syrup moonshine shack I see.
Tac. I have a Council Tool 24" boys axe ($58) on the way in the mail.... I will probs do the paracord wrap like I have on a couple hatchets...I may try the boiling water shrinkage treatment to it. Good to see you doing vids again. At 01:49 it's the ghost of all the haters slamming your shed window. ha! :)
I had an overstrike making some kindling with my hultafors axe, dented the handle pretty good, you can use an iron for clothing and a damp rag to take the dent out. Also it's never too late to learn a new skill playboy...get yourself an inexpensive welder and go to town!
Hey tac, speaking of ranger bands, have you used heat shrink tubing before? It's basically like bicycle tubes, but it shrinks with heat to get a really tight fit on the handles. Some of them are specifically made to fit boat paddles and such. It's probably not the best for axe handles, but it could work really well on slippery knife handles like BK9
my work tools all just have a lot of electric tape right under the metal head. nothing fancy but it's cheap! I did throw a used piece of rubber hose on one of my hammers but the rest is all electric tape.

A paracord wrap works great and doesn’t get messed up like the leather 👍
tac I worked on the railroad and was able to find old air-hoses cut a 5inch piece slide it up the handle on a sledgehammer or splitting maul.

I wrapped my Gränsfors Bruk with Paracord after watching your video. I won't tell you how many times it took to get it right.
