    The best part is Saitama saying "I'm just a hero" and not "I'm just a hero for fun" this time because the conversation about heroes purpose at the final fight of the tournament.

    Even though this show is for comedy purposes
    You gotta feel for Suiryu. All the emotion in his cries for help and now acknowledging heroes and respecting their duty to protect the innocent. Such a great episode

    • @robertolanzone
      @robertolanzone Před 3 lety +8

      Yeah, noteworthy the fact that, beforehand, he was mocking the heroes' ideals (which kinda triggered Saitama) but he gets it, now that he feels helpless and in need of protection.
      Tbh, while I do feel bad for him, he kinda deserved a bit of a lesson for being such a jerk feeling above people who put their lives in danger to save others.

    • @samuelvincent557
      @samuelvincent557 Před 3 lety +7

      Agreed. I, actually, never disliked him. He was arrogant, but he was as strong and skilled as he bragged. And he was honest about his ambitions. He wanted an easy life of fun and wealth. He wasn't a nice person, but he was never bad or even really mean. Maybe this whole experience will be good for him.

      Suiryu's grandpa was also a very high ranked martial artist, almost as strong as Bang and Bomb. He also learned from one of the best. And Suiryu and his sister were their only two disciples, which makes the training better since it is more focused, the opposite of Garou's, since Bang had a lot of students and it was only because of Garou's determination (and also innnate talent) that made him the best himself.

    I may be wrong about this, but an interesting theme I've noticed in this series is how everyone who tries to take shortcuts to power, or only wants power for power's sake or fame, tend to get destroyed in fights. People like Saitama on the other hand, who do the hard work and/or only want to do good (or evil in the monsters' case), are much more powerful, even if they are a bit abrasive about it (like Tornado). There's a good life lesson there; cutting corners and bad/selfish intentions can only come back to bite you in the end. But maybe I'm reading too much into it. Also, loving your reactions!

    • @houseofaction
      @houseofaction Před 2 lety

      I disagree, the show makes it clear that humans and animals can transform into monsters through feelings, E.G because of their obsession for certain things, or hatred etc like if you are obsessed with crab you can turn into a literal crab man. Saitama was obessed with becoming strong and worked out to a level that he himself thought was intense even though it wasn't that intense and voila after 3 years of training he was now able to win every fight with a single punch

I study stories and structure because I want to write, and I'm kind of at the point where I watch things and intellectualize the tropes and plot structure instead of experience the story the way it was meant to. I've never had strong emotions watching this episode before because I understood what the creators were trying to do. But I did this time, because I was experiencing it along with someone who was just invested in the story. That's a really cool feeling, and I actually cried too.

    You must consider Suiryu acted like a hero too, he doesn't need to protect those people if the only thing he wanted was just fun... and as the others fighters did, he should only be concerned about himself, but... I think it's just an excuse to do basically what a "human" should do, as Saitama did in the past, as Saitama's own words "my body moves alone" when saved the chin brad. Suiryu instead of that asked for a date to that chick. He is famous, rich, handsome... he doesn't need that to ask a girl for a date. Also, he can easily evade that energy ball and let the "weakers" die but he acted like hero.
    Suiryu can easily fit between S class... so, Goketsu is extremely dangerous as Genos said at past episode. Which means even for the strongest heroes a "Goketsu" should be a really problem to handle.

    Honestly this is not Saitama's show. He's really the deus ex machina for when the other characters go through their arcs and struggles.He's so uninvolved for a main character.
