I know you went through a lot of shit that day, but besides taking the wrong path, the flies, the rain, the exploding bingchilling, yes the shit, the bugs, did I mention the rain???? The time walking through the valley before it rained was quite peaceful and beautiful. One of the most lovely views in Taiwan. Thanks for that ... and WADDLE WADDLE!!!

I do suggest you to use"Motorbike mode" to prevent detour problem. You need to walk on the main road that motobike or car can drive on it. Never too trust Google map shortcut route. It will let you in dangerous always when you in Mountan area. Please do not walk near the grass on the road side, it usually have spiked grass will cause you leg itching problem. Take care and have a nice journey in Taiwan.

Go Jinny Go! I mentioned on stream, perhaps you could get a real GPS like a Garmin or TomTom, which uses Satellites? Google Maps / phone GPS aren't very reliable and worse in country, mountain areas with bad signals.

That explains why Jinny’s legs are so strong - during the waddlethon, she had to mule all those gifts!
If you get this message Jinny, spray peppermint and eucalyptus and some lavender on your clothes, hat, and around the bottom part of your pants to keep flies, ants, and bugs away and it works at night time from those pesky flies and mosquitoes. Wash your sink or when you go to airnb hotels.. Spray on floor and where you don't want your animals to pee you can re-route them to go to one area say on a towel only. Namaste.

In the beginning of the video it was because the flies knew it was going to rain. Maybe they could sense moisture in the air going up or something. This is common. However sometimes other scents or perfumes draw bugs. You also wet your feet a bit and those flies was possibly wanting some water.
I don't think in this case it was perfume related. Some scents draw mosquitos more though because mosquitoes sense certain things your breath out. Carbon dioxide and other things. For flies especially gnats. Vanilla based bug sprays keep gnats away. Something with vanillin. We have one near us titled vbs bug spray that comes from a tiny pharmacy or there is bug be gone. Neither has deet in them.
Deet kept mosquitoes at bay one year for us but biting flies and gnats still bit us up. That's the only thing that works. And i swear the flies and gnats attacked us more if using deet. The other product doesn't work as good against mosquitoes though. Mosquitoes get used to it and start tolerating it after exposure. Then you have to have more on then the other person. That stuff is bad for you and dangerous. I don't even like using it. Was invented and formulated by the U.S military then later found to exist naturally in some plants. It's also harmful to humans. Can also lead to brain problems many years later in some people with exposure to high strength deet for any length of time.
Those flies could have been after sweat or food your carrying too.
After swimming because we was wet flies followed us for a mile walking when i was younger.
We get the original vbs bug spray. Works for the gnats at least. I don't think it globally or even nationally sells in the U.S. it's a product in my try county area only i think. We got green label. I am not sure what the other color labels have in them. Ok they sell it in 5 or 6 states in the United States.
Jinny, great job! But you really gotta invest in better hiking gear next time. At least get proper shoes and backpack.

If that snail or slug eats plants like other types they may not want them near a garden. Maybe more near the natural area like woods or a tree line where it won't harm the plants in a garden. I am not sure what that type eats. We have actual slugs here that doesn't have shells and we have to keep them away from our garden. And they will slime you up. I stepped on one and it took 30 minutes to get the slime off my bare foot and between toes. Literally soap and water wasn't working and i used a rag and it wasn't working so i kept repeating and re-applying soap then trying to pull it off. I eventually got it off but wasn't easy. They can craw across razer blades and it will not cut them. But run some bare copper wire and they won't cross this or it kills them with a mini shock that you can't feel. Also beer kills them. I don't think they are the same thing. Slugs don't have shells. They can climb any wall and like wett grass or wet surfaces. After it rains or wett from dew and humidity.
