    This song is so high fashion and delicate that I have no doubt the song is written by one of the greatest composers in Pop history ever.I can't stop humming the melody and it keeps playing in my brain! Really hope that the album would be released in Korea, here too.

    Classic Waaktaar, a song that just grows after every play. Would have made a great a-ha song but still great in its own right here clearly how the writer intended it to be.

    For me this is as close to perfection as it gets: great tune, great production, AMAZING voice, beautiful video... can't ask for more. Well, I can, but I'll have to wait until February 24th for the whole album.

  • @mutantdisco87
    @mutantdisco87 Před 7 lety +5

    What a pity, there's not a real second verse...Paul, for me, he's a genius, except for this one : weak. The baroque-pop arangements circa Sgt Peppers are awesome but the structure of the song does not really satisfy me... One and only verse, playde at the middle 8 instead of a real second verse... Ok the chorus is fantastic, marvelous, but relase a song just because there is a very good chorus, it's a pity...

    • @Hideland7672
      @Hideland7672 Před 7 lety +3

      Can't quite follow your reasoning, describing the song as weak despite the fantastic, marvellous chorus just because the structure of the song doesn't really satisfy you, as you say. Your personal opinion and that's completely fine of course, no pun intended with this reply. There's not even a bridge in it, you could have added in that sense. The structure differs a bit from maybe up to 99% of single releases with their so predictable building up in verse-chorus parts but when there would have been another verse included (of course there is a second verse starting at 2:13 but it partially has the same lyrics yes), the song's length would have been close to 5 minutes and, in my opinion, that would have cut the strength of the song, dragging it out for too long. Now the brilliant chorus and guitar hook get relatively much "air time" and well, to me it's just fine. This way the melody quickly gets stuck in people's minds, making it a good single drawing attention for the album. My opinion.

    • @markradley2218
      @markradley2218 Před 7 lety +4

      I like the unconventional structure... makes a difference from the verse-chorus-verse-chorus-bridge-chorus that we mostly hear. The lyrics subtly change in the second verse and last chorus too, stopping it becoming repetitive. It's got me looking forward to hearing the rest of the Waaktaar & Zoe stuff.

    • @mutantdisco87
      @mutantdisco87 Před 7 lety +3

      I understand your argument : but Paul is making POP and we can totally reverse the argument by saying the song misses lyrics or verse. I love the music when it is unexpecting but Paul has always written "mainstream" songs in the past - We can say : yeah ! fuck off verse-chorus-verse ! But we can say : that's not enough, being a Paul fan...

    • @mutantdisco87
      @mutantdisco87 Před 7 lety +4

      Maybe it would be cooler (for me) that i did not have any knowledge of the demo of Foot of the Mountain... Maybe it would be different...

    • @Hideland7672
      @Hideland7672 Před 7 lety +4

      Might be experiencing a burnout but again I can't completely follow: totally reverse the argument by saying the song misses lyrics or verse? Imo a song doesn't need to follow a certain pattern or be a display of how someone can write each individual verse differently. When just a few words tell the story, why need or write more to get across what you want. There are 2 verses and the chorus pops up 3 times, that's pretty average/normal I think and besides that, there are subtle changes in the words. Paul hasn't always written mainstream songs, a lot of songs especially within Savoy I could not categorize as that anyway and have lots of differentiation in structures. Anyway, as a fellow "Paul fan" I just hope the rest of the album will be more to your liking!
