I mean, the category is in poor taste no matter when it's done. Even then, you'd be saying "hasn't aged well" if he had died of natural causes.

It's aged perfectly. He was able to laugh about life after he's suffered.

Mr. Trebek's "I'm not well" is ominously ironic given that he was stricken with pancreatic cancer a year after this episode aired.
Less than that even. 4 months if this episode aired in early December 2018.
He likely had cancer already. It just developed to terminal levels before being symptomatic.
Still, it was quite eerie.

Alex Trebek has always kept a positive attitude whether he was sick or not. Sadly, the part where Alex jokingly says "I'm not well" hits totally different now because he is no longer with us. RIP to the legendary Jeopardy host. Godspeed, Mr. Trebek. We all love and miss you being there at the Jeopardy stage.

Seriously, was he cosplaying Yosemite Sam at San Diego Comic Con when a Sony exec overheard him talking about trivia and immediatle pulled him out of line and threw him on tv because someone else had to cancel?

Boy, do I miss Dave. When I first started watching Jeopardy a couple years ago, he was the 2nd contestant, and won 4 or 5 days in a row. That mustache made me so happy, I don't know why.
This is really quite sad considering two years later he would be gone.
I still can't think of Jeopardy and anybody else as the host, even watching Ken Jennings do his best Trebek impersonation (Jennings is actually doing a fair job, if I can be honest.)

I was diagnosed with stage 4 prostate cancer in 2013. After immunotherapy and surgery and radiation, chemo and A TON OF PRAYERS, my cancer is undetectable. I’m going to pray for Alex Trebek he will honestly be in my daily prayers. I believe in the power of almighty God, please acknowledge him Alex, let us know you appreciate our prayers to Jesus Christ. We are a army of praying people. Let us know your in that army as well. God bless you.

Very haunting considering his health issues in his final years and add to that his pancreatic cancer diagnosis.
Q: In March 2019, I announced to my fans from near and far that I was diagnosed with Stage 4 of this deadly endocrine and digestive organ disease. Despite aggressive treatment and an outpouring of love and support from all across the globe, I would succumb to it 18 months later on November 8, 2020. I put up a good fight, though, so no regrets!

He most likely did. Pancreatic cancer usually becomes symptomatic in late stages. By the time Alex got wise to it, it was already too late.
