I listened to all his albums front to back as a teenager with my friends over and over. Love them to this day. Love his new sound now too. Couldn't choose one over the other. 20 years changes alot.

This album saved my life when it was released. I was a very empty, lonely 12-year-old and my dad was a cold alcoholic. This album made me feel alive.
My favorite line in this track "when I say Hussein (who's sane)? You say Shady." Just sick double entendre for the time
"Business" is another one off this album that has this same type of vibe that I love.

Hi. Just my opinion. I’m a 38yr half white/half Cherokee (adopted) woman. Grew up very loved and very privileged. Didn’t matter. Had issues from the jump. Chemical imbalance, at the start of when ADD and ADHD was barely recognized. Was labeled different/trouble bc I took and still take medications for it. That help me effing function at a “normal” level of existence. B/c I started therapy. Bc I was just “more tan” enough to be separate. Before that was labeled as just stupid. By my own teachers. Even though I had a high school reading level, in third grade.
When his first album dropped, we were in our mid teens. We. Were. Angry. We were angry with being mollycoddled, we were angry at our government, at the constant wars, 9/11, the passive reactions we asked for, for help. He gave us a voice. All of us. If anything, for me, growing up he united everyone in my generation, yes, millennials, together. If people don’t get that he’s making a point being outrageous, then don’t listen to him. But for Me, he means so so much. He allowed me, to be comfortable and vocal in my anger. And as a young girl then, it was incredibly empowering. Helped me be the woman I am today. Not afraid to voice my opinion or say no or stand up for myself. And I have a wicked sense of humor in-part bc of him. He is sarcasm defined. Loyal 100% forever. Love him and his music then. Love him and his music now. Great reaction tho

Never realized he said " Canada-bis don't want no part of me ". I don't care what the figure heads of our nation may have ever either intimated or explicitly said to denounce Eminem, Canada definitely wants to square dance and always has. This very album was the first CD I ever listened to front-to- back, it enticed and captivated me in a way no artist or album ever had. And I still credit him and his work for provoking me to think about, and be genuinely interested in the way the world works.
Old Em and new Em are both different and similar so for me I can’t say ones better than the other. But this Eminem song is in my top 5 Em songs still to this date. The song by him called “business” is on the same album and it’s also in my top Em songs
The old Em let the track breathe and you felt every line. The new Em just cares about trying to rap super fast and stuffing endless syllables in one line, which can be way over the top.
That psychotic part is my most fav part I love how he faces on the words sounds so dope I'm almost rope a doping 🥊🤕🥊

Anyway just wanted to let you know when you said he sounded like he was talking to people doing a line dance with Plad shirt in jeans, like country people i guess, i found it funny. It was actually the "cool" way of talking for whatever reason around this time. There was a rapper named Chingy I think his name was and that's how he pronounced all his words. Even Nelly around this time,, Its getting hot in Huuur, not here. So he was just making fun of or acknowledging that is always how i perceived it
