  • As the engines fell quiet and the sun set on the 2019 Rolex F1 Australian Grand Prix at Albert Park, the support category race car transporters departed the Melbourne street circuit. Here are the highlights of the Supercars, Australian GT and Formula 4 transporters leaving the track on a warm Sunday evening.

    Australia is one of the few places in the world you can see Euro-style and American-style trucks driving side-by-side

      Plenty of American and European trucks in NZ as well. These are longer than what would be legal in NZ.

    These would make all the NASCAR haulers jealous! Those are real monsters; too big to be legal in the USA. Really well maintained too; they ALL just sparkle! Good on ya'!

    These are commonly called B Doubles which are very common on B Double rated roads in Victoria, Australia. For a long time we had B Triple’s which were only authorized between Ford Geelong to Ford in Broadmeadows but sadly that’s a thing of the past. Great show though.🇦🇺

    • @ThePruts0r
      @ThePruts0r Před 3 lety +1

      Search for 'B-Trailer' or 'Super B'. These setups are very common in the USA and Canada

    • @TrucksatTracks
      @TrucksatTracks  Před 3 lety +1

      They're quite common for race car transporters Down Under. The smaller first trailer generally carries spare parts, there's often a lounge area at the front of the rear trailer, and the race car/s are at the back of the rear trailer.

    Seeing these just makes me very happy. There is nothing like the glory of fossil fuel powered vehicles. Love those cabover road trains driven by the real professionals.
    Here in the US we have no European cabover unless 25 years or older imported. The US cabovers are all over 20 years old. Both Mitsubishi and Isuzu has exited US with their medium four wheel drive trucks and now rear wheel drive too. Australia is the real land of the free, with the best vehicles from around the world, especially trucks. US has always sucks because of DOT as Dead On Track.

    What's the best path to jobs in the Trucking industry in Australia?

    • @TrucksatTracks
      @TrucksatTracks  Před 3 lety

      Generally you'd need to get a license for a light rigid truck and work your way up to the bigger trucks. The drivers of these transporters generally work for the race team, and look after the tyres throughout the race weekend as well.
