The clip at 5:22 when "Alfredo becomes a real Tomb Raider" is so nice. We don't see the level but your reactions are sort of anticlimactic. Yet it's such an important moment. I love it, really reminds of how acquiring skills in these games was about long sessions of hard work and something exceptional happening in front of your eyes, but not displaying so much on the outside. So cute and precious to live this with a loved one!

Our pleasure! Sorry for the long wait - I had hoped to have it ready for Christmas, but Alfredo was away in Italy for almost all of December and we didn't have time!
Thank you guys for taking us along so far. TR4 is going to be so much fun, is one of my favourite games of all time, along side TR3, it holds a very special place in my heart. Hopefully, Alfredo will enjoy it too!

I’d love to see Alfredo play the expansion packs too, especially Lost Artefact & find all the secrets. There’s also TRAE.
When he gets to Angel of Darkness, will it be the vanilla game or will it be the Restored Mod? If it’s the former, then after you beat it, will we get to see you play Restored with Alfredo watching so you can both experience all the cool stuff it puts back in?
It'll be the version with Nakamichi's patch (?), largely keeping the original as un-modded as possible aside from control fixes.
Looking forward to TR4 definitely one of my faves! Those Cairo levels though 🥲
I like both of your ideas for the story. The original TR storyline is very sparse but it also doesn't need a huge Hollywood reboot or anything. Just flesh out the current plot points and clue the player into what is going on a little better. It would have been interesting if they also built on the universe's lore as well, giving more history on the artifacts, locations, villains, etc.

I am actually astonished at how much detail Alfredo can recall about every level. After 20 years of playing I still mix up the levels sometimes! By the way, I totally get your love for Aldwych and I'm with you, I love that level! Romans do it better :P ciao da Roma Alfré!

Thank you both for this series, it has been a complete delight reliving these games this way 🥰 it's cool to see how Alfredo ended loving some of the most disliked levels by the fandom, his fresh-eyes take is very refreshing.
And I totally cannot wait for the TR4 playthrough, it has always been my favorite, I'm excited to see Alfredo tackle it, specially cuz I feel it answers some of his criticism of the first 3 like the underdeveloped story.

The best level for him is the one we missed!? 😂 omg for me its one of the worst levels alongside Luds gate; but context here matters: I had no internet and was 15 yo at the time I first played it.
I spent like 2 months on that level alone. Even restarted the game thinking there was a bug 😂 madubu is great I agree.
I'm looking forward to re-experiencing Madubu in the remaster, hoping the experience is fresh and fun 😂
I've got a suggestion for your channel as your husband has finished all games how about you do a live stream with modern controls on with him on the remastered and basically take it in turns if you die

TR1 will always be my favourite of the first three because it was the most tomb centric game.
Also loved the question about what destinations should feature in future games - I've got to mention Valley of the Temples, in Sicily, which I didn't even know about until I visited and it already sounds like a TR level. Also, Ephesus, Pompeii, Knossos Palace and I agree with Washington DC and the Vatican archives. There's also some great megalithic sites and ruins in Malta plus Ireland needs a decent exploration with all its megaliths and castle ruins. 😊
Oh hell yes, back to Ireland would be great!

How did you fix the meteorite radiation beam in the Willard cutscene footage? Is that an OpenLara thing?
Not sure what you're refering to I'm afraid!
@@Raidercast the yellow beam coming from the crater and the 4 smaller ones from each idol. Normally they’re invisible until the shot where Willard throws himself into the crater before they disappear again. They remain missing during the level itself too but they did exist in the beta version of Meteorite Cavern. (That one didn’t have any lava or so it seemed)
Great recap! Concerning the vehicles, you forgot the mine cart, but something tells me Alfredo wouldn't rate it above the kayak anyway😂 Aldwych as the fave level and kayak as the favourite vehicle, truly some controversial opinions! And yeah I can see how the story could be more fleshed out, but I also don't mind that much because it comes with some fun stories and theories that fans come up with. If someone did a remake with more fleshed out story though, I wouldn't mind, it could be pretty interesting!
Also there's actually a Tomb Raider Level Editor fan game that has one level in Pompeii, Lara travels back in time and it ends with her escaping the Vesuvius explosion (at least that's what I read because back then when I played it, I didn't get that far. But I wanna go back to it eventually). Just a... little hint, once you finish the official TRs, there's plenty of awesome TRLE games😉
Anyway, I'm digressing. As for the artifacts, they actually do seem to have different powers! We don't see that much of them, but Infada Stone makes Tony shoot fire, while Sophia's Eye of Isis shoots some turquoise energy and also helps her stay young, which the other artifacts might not be able to, or not the same way, and they might not cause the same mutations... (especially if you play The Lost Artifact, where... well, no spoilers 😄) But Core probably did for the game what looked interesting without thinking too deeply about it. Still, each artifact doing something a little different seems to have some support in canon.
Well, really glad you enjoyed TR3! I hope you'll enjoy TR4 too. As goes for pretty much every TR game, it's someone's most favourite and someone's least favourite, so you will have to judge for yourself 😁
