I have watched the entirety of Total Drama 2023 and I am finally ready to share my thoughts on this AMAZING season!! Please join me as we talk about the Total Drama Reboot, the elimination order and how well the predictions came to fruition!

I am gay and I was so scared that Bowie would be too over the top or too gary stu cause he's gay and they can't downplay the gay guy, but they did GREAT. He is so fun, has a well fleshed out personality with complex morality, and is sassy while also being a down to earth and friendly person at times. I had Bowie at the bottom of all my predictions for what my favourite character would be, but now he is tied for first in the new season with Emma. I quote Emma in the pole episode so many times a day x-x.

Fr MK is my favourite, tied with Julia and Damien
24:10 without saying exactly what part of LGBTQ+ i am, I can still say that Bowie's character didnt really offend me too much. You can tell that he is kind of a gay stereotype, but it works in a way that it simply just does not really offend most people, and that is something i really do think the writers are good for. They made a stereotype, but did it in a way that it wouldn't offend too many people. That is something that I am honestly proud of them for
I mean, they better be good at making stereotypical characters interesting and engaging, lol. That's the whole point of the show; the characters have always been based on stereotypes.
@@Robalexe yeah, they are mostly known for making characters different stereotypes, and I think I know some people who have been offended by that before. But to me, any stereotype they've done so far hasn't offended me at all, to be honest lol
I haven't seen anyone unironically ever call Bowie an offensive stereotype in this fandom, except for one guy on reddit who hates everything about the show anyway yet still keeps visiting the site everyday to inform everyone how much he hates the show. The only characters he finds good are the ones he likes the designs of, lol.
Talking about Ripper, I do remember the mention on some tweets about a "Jerk with a golden heart" And given how much there is about Ripper plus his VA pretty much confirming we'll see a new side of him on s2 on both Twitter and an intreview. I think it's safe to asume Ripper WILL make it far next season and I'm all here for it. I absolutely adored him and I can't wait to see how he does next season!^^

This season was so good, I can’t wait for season 2, I hope there’s an alternative ending.
Here’s how I think Bowie’s ending should be like:
-Bowie emerges from the puke sphere
-Chris congratulates him
-Julia walks in with her taped together contract, cheering about having won 50% of the money
-Bowie hugs Julia and the puke ruins the contract
Here’s some predictions for season 2:
-Caleb is the new antagonist seducing and betraying both men and women.
-Chris is actually enforcing the no phone rule, so Julia and MK face technology withdrawal.
-Priya might become a target or she might drop out early since she feels accomplished, maybe her parents come to force her to stay but Millie tells them off and Priya can decide for herself.
-Julia desperately needs an ally and decides to seduce Wayne. Raj is happy for Wayne but Bowie doesn’t approve.
-Chase and Emma; if they stay a couple, eliminated early; if they break up, make it past merge.
-MK tries to hack chef’s smart fridge, ruins the food.
-Nichelle might get used by Caleb for votes, but she uses him for physical labour
-Ripper, Zee, scary girl are fun but I feel we’ve already seen what they have to offer so early boots.
-Axel just needs another chance to show she can be a good leader, 2nd place.
-Damien has the potential and the initiative to win 1st place.
How good would a finale between Axel and Damien would be? It’s perfect not only is it a girl vs boy but also it’s a brain vs brawn.

okay i dont think theyre doing that with caleb JUST because theyd be recycling justin, id rather have caleb be a chaarcter that has loads of hate towards bowie for what he did, but only bowie (unlike eva who got pissed at everyone for no reason)

Thankfully Ripper was eliminated even earlier in season 2! 🙏🏼 but I really appreciate that you liked the character.
This might sound weird, but I want next season Chase will be the villain. He is a CZcams prankster right? Make him sabotage during challenges, and the person who falls for the prank, he does a strat and says "You're making us lose! C'mon!" he would be more and more distatched from Emma, and Emma around Episode 11, would find out about Chase, with Chase without knowing, and would lead to a satisfying elimination.
That's not who Chase is as a character though. I doubt he even has the mental capacity for a plan like this or to intentionally do something malicious rather than obliviously. This idea sounds more up MK's alley.
This idea kinda sucks. Chase is too oblivious to be a villain, this role fits MK more.
This was a great season and I hope as a ripper fan to see ripper development in the second season
I agree with you, to me total drama 2023 is the third best season after TDI and TWT (in a tie with Ridonculous Race) to me is the closest to the og one especcially thanks to characters like Julia, Bowie, Priya, Zee, MK, Wayne, Raj, Lauren, Damien and others...
I found myself connecting way more to this cast than the ones from TDROTI and TDPI, in that regard it reminded me a lot of the og cast and it felt like a wothy return to form.
I'm gay and I absolutely ADORE Bowie. Yes, he's stereotypical in many ways, but he's way more than that. Gay people like Bowie do exist and they're not worse for being camp and effeminate and whatever, so it's nice that they not only created him but gave him complexity.

Ripper is, together with Zee and MK my favourite character from this season.
I personally dont like Bowie, I find him really annoying and I also dont like his design that much

I'm so glad I'm not the only who really dislike MK. She was such an one-note character. If you're sarcastic, snarky whatever you wanna call it you don't shove that trait into people's faces. I don't think she felt natural at all.
Yeah she felt really rushed. I'm hoping that she only got like that for Julia's villain arc and now that MK can be important she's more fun. MK deserves more slapstick, humble her a bit.
Just read this comment, I can see that, tho I found her to be hilarious. I'm curious how ya felt about her in the second season, did she improve for you or was it more of the same?
@@Rywdb She definitely improved which is funmy because all her core traits were kept the same, the only difference was that she actually stood by the sidelines and that made her feel natural. She's not my favourite, but she went from a 1 to at least a 6 easily.
@@kingbode2611 That's neat! Glad you liked her character more! I will say is I kind of felt bummed out that Julia started absorbing her traits in the post merge, but she still remained a really good funny character, how would you feel if she actually was a main villain?
@@Rywdb Julia felt more like a plot device than anything post-merge, still I'd keep her over MK, because MK whole stick is not gathering attention for her. Also, it sets up a perfect opportunity for MK to set up Julia as an early boot next season, because if she sticks with Julia she might as well be gone.
Finally someone else Liking Ripper man😭. (Well not S for me but still that's fine). Byt I think since we already get kinda some change from him,he is gonna be pretty difficult to keep.
Or maybe they could make him and Millie close Friends so he would be even better🤔.
I also Think Nichelle would play a better role on Season 2 and maybe Priya would train her and She would be more close to Nichelle so Millie would feel Alone and Ripper will come to her or something like that. It's just some prédictions.

As a gay dude, I honestly thought Bowie was going to be an over the top Stereotype, but I was pleasantly surprised by how he was handled; like you said, gay wasn't his personality.

Quick season 2 predictions
I think theres goung to be a significant theme of pride and egos just based off the cast and potential plot arcs.
Ripper has so many hints throughout the first season of being able to have a good redemption arc, this can easily be tied to him being humbled.
Nichelles ego gets heavily damaged season 1, so her arc can be based on getting her pride back and proving herself
Bowie vs Julia continuing, thats hugely a battle of egos
Then finally, a lot of people see Emma and Chase going early this time, I don't see it. I think they break up in like episode 1, I think Emma will move in with a new boyfriend (my guess being Caleb) and Chases ego will be big time damaged while Caleb is just chill (side note, a lot of people think Caleb will be an antagonist, that would be majorly lame. Hot people can be good people, I see him being like a Trent)
So then finally for finale, this is a super common prediction but I can see Damien vs Axel. It would fit the theme so well. Damien being a humble genuis, then Axel would be a cocky girl that can consistently back it up
That would be a great theme next season. I would love for Caleb seem prideful on the outside but he is more reserved on the inside and hates being judged by the way he looks. What you said for the other characters is interesting.
Emma immediately clinging on a rebound guy would be shit. Caleb deserves better and deserves to shine on his own.
I would enjoy Damien vs. Axel too! Taking into account what you said, with Damien who now starts to understand the game and gets better each episode, and with Axel who develops into a better leader and team player. Both their strengths would be so anticipating to watch!

dude im givving up, im just gonna watch the season for the first time by watching the reaction. ive been looking too long for the season. its probably so easy to find but im just dumb
I feel like one of the reasons island was so good, was the challenges. Something you would actually believe could be on tv. They add unrealistic things to newer seasons to make it more enjoyable for younger kids, but island was just so realistic to a reality tv show. But I have to say, 2023 was really good! Probably because our past seasons (not RR) really just, sucked. I really liked how the characters this season actually seemed, realistic, not a princess, crazy cosplayer, or a really meh villain. I would rate this season a 8/10 I would like for the challenges to be more realistic like in island, and like you said, for Chris to be a normal little self centered host again. I also believe in spoilers, for next season that she will actually help her team win a challenge.
The second season of TDIR 2023 has already been released aired and premiering on the date of 4th december in the italian channel K2.

Hot take, but I thought this season was just okay, not spectacular, but it was okay. The OG 4 seasons were still better for me. I also didn't adore Zee or the Hockey Bros as much as others, but they are alright. I do like Millie a bit more than others, but she's not showstopping or the best ever. And I'm so sad with how they made Axel because I really liked design. Lastly, Ripper is one of the worst characters in the whole series, and you can't change my mind.
Also, some fans of the show have better ideas and sometimes writing IMO. Like why make 2 separate 13 episode season instead of 1, 26 episode season?

Because fans aren't restricted like TV Show makers are. The writers couldn't make one 26 episodes season because the networks ordered 2 separate seasons with a new cast, and they had to work with what they got. If you switch out the writers with the fans, the end product would be 100 times worse, especially since the fans more often than not don't even try to put any humor into their fan-made seasons.
I really hate Ripper, to me he is insufferable and so so annoying, I really want him, and just to get it stated this also applies to Chase and Emma, to get voted out early.
Not to mention that he did overstaying his welcome for more than 8 episodes on screen and in both premerge/merge he has always been in the bottom two 3 times in a row with Axel Scary Girl & Millie since he should be eliminated in their place early in the competition.
At least I will hope in the second season Ripper would have been the first eliminated contestant early in the competition.
