- So the reviews are out! At least for critics and they are loving the new feature film from Netflix, Nimona. Paired with the latest trailer from yesterday this film is really shaping out to become a household classic and point of reference for LGBTQ+ representation! After multiple delays, I'm so excited to see the culmination of this project come at last.

I've been following Nimona the film since I read the graphic novel years ago. It means a lot to me both as someone in the LGBTQ+ community, and as a storyteller, as it helped shape my own writing. Its rocky production made me nervous, having it delayed a few times, but I held out hope, and was furious when Disney pulled the plug, seeing it as another LGBTQ+ project that Disney did not have the guts to produce. I was thrilled when it was picked back up, and am now eagerly awaiting wide release. So long story short, I will watch it when it comes out, probably a few times

tbh real small complaint wish he was kept a villain and that they kept goldenlion's long hair but other than that I don't have anything else to say than I cant wait for this film to release :>
Nimona reminds me of Nezha Birth of the Demon Child. The way she's chaotic and evil one moment, and cute and adorable the next just radiates so much of Nezha's charm. I can't wait to see the movie.
I don't care what all the conservatives have to say about this movie, I'm super hyped to finally watch this film, after hearing about it back in 2020 (and Disney shutting down Blue Sky Studios 😢). I have never read the graphic novel before, or even heard of it until i heard about the movie... Ik its gonna be GREAT!

I've seen a lot of people calling this "an animated LGBT movie", or "a queer animation".
Wtf does that even mean? Is every frame in it gay? No. It has some queer characters, but that should be normal by now. And it is quite common actually.
The comic is very good btw and I hope the movie will be at least half as amazing.

I'm really happy that this got revived and that Nimona stayed her crazy borderline bloodthirsty self, gives me a lil bit of hope that Larikins gets the same treatment Tim Minchin hasn't been the same since his project got cancelled

@@one-onessadhalf3393 Yeah Larikins, it was a Aussie musical, they did some animation for it and it had quite the impressive voice cast that were already recording lines and songs, but it was shut down it kinda broke Tim as it was a long time passion

Such a freaking good movie. I loved it so much.
It’s nice to see a queer movie that looks like fun. Usually movies any LGBT themes are tragedies, but this just looks like a cool fantasy adventure.
@ChassHouse also AEW is also doing the same thing as they are releasing a video game who has an wrestler named Nyla Rose who is a Transgender lesbian And Nyla rose is the first wrestler to be in video game like that.

Recently with what they are doing, LGBTQ starts to make me worried about the movie quality, but the show looks good.

Can't wait for people to call other people homophobic for not liking a movie, that just so happens to have gay queer stuff.
I hope they make good changes for the film adaption. The romance felt as forced as a horror movie teenage romance. It was that bad.
I also saw right through beheading Nimona. I wasn't even a LITTLE surprised she was fine. I was rolling my eyes at Blackheart grieving.
They need to tighten up the writing and scenes in this to actually make them passable to audiences.

It was bull crap. I had to come up with an explanation to my 3 boys 9 and under what the hell just happened . My wife and I shouldn't have to explain this to our children at such a young age. We were enjoying movie and then it left a bad taste in my mouth with that end woke scene . Why !? There is no need for it in a movie for kids.
Dude, it's a movie with queer characters in it. If you didn't teach them that queer people exist in the world and as normal as anyone else then that's your fault or you could've just said you'll explain when they are older. Oh I also hope you never show them any movies straight relationships cause it'd be real hypocritical of you of you if you were okay with that, but not queer relationships.

Umm... that's like the main theme of the movie, though. Nimona and Bal are both outcasts. Nimona for her powers and Bal for his lower-class background. Plus the government system is shown to be corrupt, as the queen is murdered for disrupting the status quo, and who gets blamed for it? The lower-class knight, of course. Societal injustice, bam bam.
I literally told my 6 year old niece they’re in love like how her mama and daddy are. And she accepted that answer with no problems. Just like in the movie with how Gloreth was taught to see Nimona as a monster. Children are not born to hate others; they’re unfortunately taught by adults to fear differences. This movie touches on many social issues that are easily digestible for families. There’s nothing political about love. We are who we are. 🏳️🌈🫶🏻🏳️⚧️
