      Hi, I have the XL version of this tent, for solo use. I must admit, I watched the set up and take down videos a couple of times before I bought it, so I didn't find it too hard. The hardest part for me is when you pull the red strap to make a figure 8. I have to brace it with a foot or it gets away from me. Apart from that, I really like the tent, though.

    • @davidwilson3756
      @davidwilson3756  Před 6 lety +3

      Nianudd yes it’s pretty easy I think but it’s also my third pop up style tent so I’m kind of used to them. This is still my favourite tent! I’ve used it at least 15 times now.

    Thank you for the tutorial! I played/paused many times and finally got the tent in its bag. I was scared to bend it in half thinking something would snap but went for it on the second try and YES!!! it’s neatly packed away until my next camping trip. Again thank you so much. 🙏🏽

    Thanks for this very helpful vid! I bought the 3-person model and love it but could not figure out what the back cable thingy was. This is the ONLY video (at least that I've found) that clearly explains about the rear window feature and how to activate it. Well done!

    Nice video. Thanks.
    Would be so nice if this tent had opening mosquito net lateral windows.
    The way it is now, when the lateral windows are opened to improve ventilation, mosquitos and even animals can get inside the sleeping area.🙁🙁🙁

    I went on a stag doo last year, and used this tent for the first time. Obviously I failed the following day when I tried to out it away hungover-my previous pop-up tent mastery not preparing me for the straps and wotnot! I'm sad to say I put it in a corner, half strapped up and...forgot about it for 9 months. Just put it away with your help now-thanks!

    Just a correction. There are 5 tie down points, 2 in the front, 2 in the sides and 1 in the back.
    The tie down ropes are inside a pocket ,inside the carrying bag, and come from the factory not installed.
    With this 5 points attached to the ground, the tent then can stand really strong winds.👍🏻🙂

    Saw these in the sale and really fancied one - but only bought after watching your *excellent* video which reassured me (I'm 65 & arthritic!) that I'd be able to pack it up on my own! However, would just like to point out to your viewers that this tent comes with three unattached guy ropes (two for the front, one for the back) which would make the tent far more stable in strong winds if utilised.... Your bad, Quechua: why aren't these pre-attached?!?

    • @davidwilson3756
      @davidwilson3756  Před 5 lety +2

      MsGeorgieBrown thanks so much for the comment!
      I checked my bag and I didn’t get these ropes. I suspect they may have added these in later models! But you’re right, they should be preattached!!

    @christianlaville2382 Před 4 lety +4

    Good instructions to package the tent, thanks. But I've got a few questions / remarks as I've just bought the same (but for 2 persons):
    * I'm 170cm (5.7") and my feet and head touch the net inside. Very weird. It seems a tent for children.
    * You say the awning prevents dew in the morning. But there is a lot of dew moving inside because the door is too close to the inner net. They both touch each other so there is a moisture transfer. Especially because of my pillow pushing the net towards the door... because I'm too... big. I never felt that big.
    * The lateral windows are useless as they aren't made of a mosquito net, but only a very tight fabric not letting the air pass through. So you have the choice to either let it open (and get all the insects) or let it closed (and not getting and fresh air from lateral "windows").
    What do you think about those issues? Am I missing something?

    • @kimberleybruce39
      @kimberleybruce39 Před 3 lety +2

      I've just used the 3 person version for the first time and also find it very bizarre that there is no bug mesh over the side windows. I've never had a tent where the windows weren't covered! It makes no sense. I live in Queensland, Australia so you definitely want the windows open but need to keep all the mozzies/spiders etc out. I'm not sure why so many reviews don't mention this 😳

    • @christianlaville2382
      @christianlaville2382 Před 3 lety +3

      @@kimberleybruce39 I came to the conclusion that tent was made for festival lovers. No bug mesh over side windows so that they can easily transfer beers and joints in/ out to their neighbours without opening anything...

    • @lucidhate
      @lucidhate Před 3 lety +1

      Love the tent otherwise, but agree, not having airflow and bug protection at the same time makes the tent worthless for camping in the summer. It should have either the right mesh and a bug screen or a bug screen and a cover or even just a bug screen. I wonder if I can come up with a solution...

    • @davidwilson3756
      @davidwilson3756  Před 5 lety +12

      arkanngell the 3 person tent is only about 5 cms wider when folded up. So it doesn’t take up much more space physically and doesn’t weight that much more so I would probably go the 3 person however to be honest I don’t think pop up style tents are great for long walks. It’s quite cumbersome having a big round disc on your back!

    • @davidwilson3756
      @davidwilson3756  Před 5 lety +1

      Chonchon Christian for me it is not a big downside. Because the entire tent is held together in one piece, I simply open the door, lift the tent and flip it upside down. All the dirt falls out that way and I do it each time I pick up the tent. I’ve never gotten it dirty enough that I felt it needed a wash.
