      In my gym they should just remove the leg press machine. To many clowns on there ego lifting with full plates. While they could probably not even deep-squat 100kg.

      And leg press is a half ass exercise anyway. Whatever weight you put on, you are actually doing about 40% of that. The leg press is an accessory move, I do it after heavy squats.

    Nothing ceases to amaze me at gyms anymore. I just left one and they're were 10 guys all doing shoulders and not one of them was doing anything properly. Ego lifting weights they could barely move or weights that weren't challenging at all with various degrees of weirdness. Very odd how many people completely waste their time going to the gym.

    There were cases of fellow gym members stopping me and telling me what I am doing wrong. And each time it was about not hurting my back. I was very grateful for their advice because I did hurt my back once by obviously doing some exercise incorrectly, before I joined that gym.
    Trying to make fun of someone online over friendly advice (correct or not) is kinda shitty.

    I know a girl who did the arching for "competition". I told her it was stupid, she told me I was stupid, she ripped her shoulder off. Best part is she was telling me it is much easier on shoulders that way.
    Just don't compete in stupid things. You lose either way.

      A bit of arching helps engaging more pecs like on a decline bench, but if you use it to reduce ROM then the risk becomes that you load a shit ton more than your joints can endure

      It is a lot easier on the shoulders that way though. If she ripped her shoulder doing it like that, she would have done it much sooner with a flat back.
      The problem wasn't the arching, it was too much weight on the bar.

      Sounds serious. Hope she put it on ice and got it quickly reattached...It is easier on the shoulders with an arch, but shit happens. I guess if you arch too much and your shoulder blade slips it could be bad, but that's a worse case scenario. I hate excessive arches because it's just cheating and gaming the strength element out of it. I've never seen any proof arching is inherently bad for your shoulders or lower back.

    Second video- again have two spotters either end of bar. Or at least use clips. At the very least communicate with your spotter about how you want them to help you and when they should intervene

      Clips are bad when you do solo PRs on Benchpresses. Also, risky if spotter isn't good enough or doesn't care. So, if no clips, you can get out of a potentially deadly situation by tilting the bar to one side. That's what ended up happening eventually as the spotter didn't intervene when he should have.

      Is he wrong though? Arching while Bench pressing is actually to shorten the RoM to actually lift heavier than the traditional bench press. I get that it is allowed in Powerlifting competitions but still its a Hack. Oh btw the video got cut when the woman said it is for competition. We did not know what occured after that, maybe that guy was just genuinely concerned about her form and did not know if she really was prepping for a competition or it is just her excuse...maybe your form sucks and someone called you for it..that is why you got triggered lol.

      @@weretekataknina102He is wrong if she's a competitive powerlifter, she's practicing her sport. You may not like powerlifting, or what it looks like under the current rules, but it is what it is and that's what it looks like to be competitive in it.
      The guy may have meant it well but most people who give unsolicited advice like that on gyms are just showing their ignorance. Sometimes people do exercises that look "wrong" but have good reason to do them. Sometimes it's just ego lifting or being lazy but it's not wise to assume.
      The fact that she set the stoppers for the bar and was deloading it on every rep is a big clue that she does actually know what she's doing and wasn't just cheating. People who cheat their lifts don't normally do pin presses, stopping the weight completely is hard as fuck compared to just bouncing it.
