  • In this video we'll take a look at how to choose the correct buttons and joysticks for your arcade control panel as well as how to wire everything to an IPAC encoder. This should help anyone building an arcade cabinet/control panel from scratch as well as anyone wanting to swap the encoders and/or included with cabinets like those sold by The Arcade Guys TAG, or Game Room Solutions GRS over to an IPAC encoder and better quality joysticks/buttons.

    I did this exact process with my Arcade Guys cabinet. It works like a charm, very easy to wire. Carlos was very responsive and easy to work with. I’m guessing he made this video so future clients could refer to it. Arcade One has been a pleasure to work with the entire time, the customer service is excellent as well.

    Fantastic guide explained so everyone can understand….HIGHLY RECOMMENDED buying his Arcade-one Hyperspin system, as it’s been part of my daily life since it arrived at my house. Carlos has the best customer service I’ve ever experienced, and is very helpful in any situation you may have….

    Great tutorial but what are the advantages of using this over the zero delay usb encoders?

      If you’re using a PC instead of a Pi you’ll want to use an IPAC to avoid headaches

    Carlos, that is great! I was wondering if you were going to give a tutorial on the Nintendo Switch emulator? Im curious as to how it runs on the 16tb hyperspin model.
    Thank you Tim👍😊

    u are saving me! thank u so much for this guide!
    i have one more question. i want to build an custom arcade cabinet for mame simulation, i want to do a joystick + 8 buttons layout (the start select player etc are not counten in this "8"). is it at least in theory possible to make them all separately led-lighted, so if i start a game there will glow only those, which are used in this specific game?
    i would be glad to hear, if it is at least in theory possible, then there is a reason to research further:D

    Is it possible to connect the same push buttons and lever to USB encoder (Zero-delay/UFB/I-PAC 2) and JAMMA harness at the same time so they can either be used on PC or cabinet?

    great video. a lot to take in...will have to re-watch a few times. trying to get ideas of what I want or need. was thinking of the atari fightstick from your recent videos, but I see things like the MagStick+, Ultrastik 360 and servostik from ultimarc and wonder if I should get one of those. I have an arcade1up final fight, but I haven't used it much and mostly game on pc, hence why I was considering the atari fight stick/trackball/spinner hybrid. I prefer the western style sticks from 90's arcades and SF games in particular. I play a lot of SF5 on pad. Was looking at the pico fighting board encoder but the guy who sold them is on indefinite hiatus and I don't solder so Brooks or ipacs I guess are the way to go if not getting a fightstick. I don't think anyone sells ultimarc sticks in a fightstick but I could see that becoming a popular choice. I know Scanline City is bringing out some MAS sticks sometime this year, but they'll probably be quite a bit more than any of the above options I'm contemplating. Any help is appreciated. Subbed.

    Is there a website where you can assemble your cabinet parts before you buy them? Something similar to PC part picker?

    • @ArcadeOne
      @ArcadeOne  Před 2 lety

      Some cabinet sellers give you some options at check out. But as you can see from this video, it is not hard to customize on your own. Order a cabinet with no controls and buy/install your own.

    It's not a positive and a negative on the buttons. It's a continuity . Meaning it's a positive completing a positive. If it were positive to negative you would be shorting it out.

    Does the ipac4 work really good with Xinput? I read some people having trouble. I know its compatible but is it a little tricky on getting it working correctly?

    Hi,
    Thanks for the video. Your system is great and this us just what I needed to build an arcade. Couple of questions. If I have a 4 player that also has a 4 way joystick where do I hook the 4 way plus the 2-3 buttons for it to the ipac4? Also is the spinner just USB?
    Thanks!

    • @ArcadeOne
      @ArcadeOne  Před 2 lety

      The 4 way joystick connects to the same pins as the player one joystick and the buttons also connect to the first 4 player 1 buttons.

      @@ArcadeOne Awesome! Thanks! Is there a special connection for light up buttons? Or how to add light to buttons? I know I have to purchase special rgb buttons. Just don't know where to add them to.
      Thanks!

    • @ArcadeOne
      @ArcadeOne  Před 2 lety

      @@gregwalzel7504 that depends on whether you’re using regular LED buttons or LEDBlinky to make them light up to match the game’s controls. You need a regular LED button power harness with a power brick that you can plug into an outlet for the former and Ultimarc offers a few LED controllers for the latter.

    • @gregwalzel7504
      @gregwalzel7504 Před 2 lety

      @@ArcadeOne Probably just regular LED. I don't believe you have Blinky on your system 16tb system. Will you have in future? If not I can try to figure out over time and switch it. Probably a dumb question but the spinner and trackball are USB, right? Thanks.

    • @ArcadeOne
      @ArcadeOne  Před 2 lety

      @@gregwalzel7504 most spinner and trackballs are USB, Blinky will be included in the future. It is not hard to implement if you ask in my group people can give you a hand.
