How Kevin De Bruyne Changed EVERYTHING Against Newcastle For Man City

- Kevin De Bruyne made a spectacular comeback from injury against Newcastle this weekend, picking up both an assist and a goal in a jaw-dropping second-half cameo. But while the rest of the Premier League will be hoping there's still some rustiness to shake off, the Belgian's return instantly makes Manchester City a terrifying prospect.

Rodri was breaking their defensive lines all game, amazing accurate passes to take out 3 to 4 players at the same time. What a player he is, a complete all round beast.
I’ve been taking this in so much recently. I don’t hear enough people mention Rodri’s completeness - and just how irreplaceable that is.
Freak of nature.
@@EnzoGodly exactly why we've lost every game he hasnt played this season
I agree, we did get past their midifield 3 a couple of times before the substitution, rodri was amazing.
He was nothing compared to Kevin De Bruyne
He was great, but nothing like KDB
The thing about that goal is that he's done it before; did the exact same thing to Arsenal last season in the 4-1 win but between Holding this time. He really is a genius.
Done it against Leicester and Bournemouth too.its no luck
He did something similar against Chelsea last season. I think it's now his trademark goal. He just passes the ball into the net
damn, "just passes the ball into the net" that good line@@athens9867
@@athens9867and it megs a defender as well
Proud Belgian here... Seeing that pass from a bird's eye view during the replay, it really boggles the mind. Literally nobody else in the world would even play that pass, let alone execute it successfully. KDB, being on the pitch, has even less of an overview, except in his head. It's pure footballing genius.
Bullshit, I could play and do that pass, not just kevin

As someone with no stake in the Premier League race (lowly Coventry fan here) I'm personally so excited to see him back. Sure it might be boring if Man City win the title, again, but god he just makes the team so fun to watch
Saw the match against Leicester. Brilliant stuff that. Callum in that second half was magic.
@@ajlouis6038 a really great performance from us. People saying it's only because of the ref that we won, but we looked the better team throughout the entire first half until the penalty too
KDB was unbelievable, credit to Bobb for making that run as well
I started watching right before he came on. I’ve never seen a player change a game so dramatically with his involvement. I’m sure other players have, but I can’t recall any such performance. Amazing.
Messi vs psg comes to mind but yeah it is a rare moment because normally those kind of special players dont start in bench
For the goal, you didn't talk about the fact that KDB opened his body to fool the GK into thinking he was going to curl it. GK was wrong footed, and that's why he wasn't able to save that goal
Yes, that's the only reason Schar and Dubravka were wrong footed, and is another reason why that goal is so special. The amount of brilliance to do all of this in a fraction of time is truly mind blowing. Makes me think of Messi
On KDB's goal, if you look at replays, you see Kev opened his body up for a tucked finish bottom right or so it seemed. Dubravka this stepper right a little expecting it there, but Kev went cross body bottom left whilst Dubravka feinted the wrong way. Truly class from Kev
He faked de gea similarly once
As a nufc fan who was at the game. City's subs had a huge impact. Fair play to them
Debruyne is the best premier league midfielder of all time🗣️

would like to see an analysis on how good rodri was during that game. The line breaking passes, the ball carrying and step overs in the box. Rodri having the freedom to go forward due to the security kovacic offers is amazing to watch. New levels to his game
9:53 "with a german television channel" ... bruh, that was a Belgian tv channel.
The biggest tactical talking point was that for the first 15 minutes Newcastle were pressing City very well and City couldn't control the game BUT Pep made a little alteration and pushed the fullbacks up the pitch which meant that Gordon and Almiron had to drop deep to mark the full backs so it removed them from the press and left Isak up front pressing by himself. Howe is tactically inept imo this isn't the first time i've seen him get outsmarted...
Being outsmarted by pep guardiola isn’t exactly a defining factor for a manager, he is the biggest influence on the modern game and current best manager itw - most people get outsmarted by him or try to follow his style. I agree tho if Newcastle want to hit a new level they do need to step up their quality of manager and get in a bigger name
Mourinho is free!@@kian5339
KDB is the best footballer I've ever seen.
You seem like you’re the football expert so i’ll tell you my theory. I think missing KDB is the reason counterattacks are so effective against Man City this season. Now it’s not because of his defensive work rate or anything, but because when he loses the ball, he loses it in a way that the defense can prepare. For example, someone like Kovacic or Alvarez will lose the ball in the midfield and the Man City back line have no time to react to a long ball played in behind. But when KDB plays, he will make a dangerous pass or shot that leads to a goal kick, the gk catching it, or maybe a defender blocking it… all of which gives the Man City defense some time to prepare for that long ball
Correction: It was an interview with Flemish TV
Lovely analysis as always.I have one slight disagreement, Walker has not played the inverted role this season.Remember pep has stated that walker cannot play in the 3-2 buildup. Its been either rico lewis akanji and stones inverting.Walker has been giving the width to allow foden to tuck inside.
I agree, also to add in the Newcastle game the full backs (Walker and Josko) would alternate going high the pitch and hold the wing, to allow the winger to invert into the half space. This alternation resulted in the box shifting from side to side as Adam noted, and which is why Gvardiol and Walker had very high average position
@@ndhlovumichael the full backs were pushed up to beat Newcastles high press. Gordon and Almiron had to drop deep to mark the full backs which meant Newcastle could no longer press high up the pitch. pep outsmarted howe. Also i'd like to mention even before KDB came on City could have easily been winning 4-2... they just didn't take their chances.
this is a super fun channel! loving the flare and insights
wonderful video, that match was a joy to watch and this only makes me appreciate more the work both teams put up on the pitch.
The best football related channel lately and definitively the best presenter.
With so many injured and away on international jobs Kevin is my FPL saving grace 🙌 vc him and he’s done more in 20 minutes than some “top level” 60 plus mil players whole seasons
I'm not generally into tactics but you make it so simple and entertaining to watch
Lots of love from Egypt keep up the good work ❤❤❤
Loved this! Actually understand more about football than before! Just one remark: kdb did an interview with filip joos, a well-known sports’ journalist here in Belgium, and he asked the question about wanting to shoot through the defender’s legs. It wasn’t a german interview.
Amazing analysis! Great video
Excellent analysis. Thank you.
This is one of the best de-constructions of that game that I have seen, including all the UK shows and pundits. You have won a subscriber. Cheers mate from America.
Really enjoyed that. Good luck on breaking your subscription goal
Great stuff mate!
Do you know the difference between a great player and an exceptional player? It is the tiny bit of brilliance that you cannot quantify with numbers. The things that just go beyond the average viewer. This is the quality that separates Messi from all others. This is what makes Thomas Muller a generational talent who is not appreciated enough. Players like KDB, Iniesta, Kroos are who they are because of this extra bit of quality. Numbers are simply not enough to appreciate them.
Kevin De Bruyne, the best player period.
Great work and it would be great it you did the impressions
Brilliant Analysis!

after the second hal Kova and Rodri were able to push higher and penetrate that compact midfield and get some shots into alvarez before de bruyne came on its just that de bruyne basically provides a bridge between the half of their half and their box that other city players cant
Great analysis, greetings from Uganda,East Africa 👏👏

Well done, Sir. Well done.
The assist was amazing.....but so was the finish in that last goal ... perfect control
KDB the king of space and vision.
Perfect insight. And far better than anything the fair weather fans on X are saying. Nice work, Adam.
Your a bloody great content creator fella ... and that's not just because I'm a fellow magpie
Good video!
Adam... This is one of your better videos! I was trying to explain to my son why Kevin De Bruyne is the best play on Manchester City (he thinks Haaland bc of all the goals). I couldn't put into words what I was seeing. THIS IS IT! Keep up the amazing work mate! Really love your content!
great channel
His goal was also just the use of his body position, before he took the shot he moved to be diagonal to the ball and get an open body position which caused dubravka to step to the near post opening the reverse finish through the defenders legs, the way he can manipulate a defence be it ball or body and then how he can make use of the ball be it shot, pass or dribble to such deadly degrees is second to none
lov'd this vid
I love these breakdowns as they teach me as a 40 year old lover of the game how to improve my chances of one day becoming a pro player

Bloody hell I watch soccer totally different now since I've been watching FourFourTwo, it all becomes apparent when someone points out how the game works
I'd advice you to watch tifo irl and football made simple as well they are really good too
Best analysis of KDB
Pep really love that type of player wherever he goes. He gots Messi in Barca and De Bruyne is City, Muller was a similar player in Bayern except he doesn't have the passing ability like Messi and De Bruyne.
to quote a Finnish commentator: "Heaven de Bruyne"
Foden and Doku had so much time and space between the lines in the first half it was ridiculous.
3-box-3 with Stones to Box-3-3 without Stones.
KDB is insane
Pep: Put KDB in
Entirety of Newcastle: Why do I hear boss music?
9:54 It was a Belgian tv channel.
# There is no 1 like KDB,, I'm a Man city fan sky blue 💙🔵🥰. Thanks
you look like D.Zebri Brighton headcoach
a little while ago, 10 men following controversial red card and 1-0 down against Newcastle at St James Park turned it around, and won in space of a few minutes.
I think we are putting alot of pressure on him now, please just praise him but dont expect him to do this every game 😅
I would like to add that two Newcastle defenders were marking Alvarez thinking that he was going to pass to him so therefore created space for him and leaving one defender to mark him.
actually Man city was able to put the ball in the same spot that Kevin got the ball for several times in the game, but the difference is in the quality. Phoden, and Doku got the ball there a lot of time but couldn't create anything special because they are limited when they are in the center of the pitch and have to go directly.
I'm a Newcastle fan but it's hard not to admire KDB, Pep, and City especially when what they do is broken down so expertly. FFP needs to change to Lvl the field.
it would be easier to follow to use photo tags instead of buttons to show players in the field.
Good analysis but don't necessarily agree with your point at 6:19. That was how City created chances. They exploited the space behind Guimaraes and in front of their centerbacks. Foden alone received the ball in this space several times and had many chances from this.
He scored a sniper goal. Seemed to be too easy. Then he made a lethal assist. What a playmaker he is.
As a Liverpool fan, I'm only interested in Net Subscriber Growth
Julián Álvarez es el mejor jugador del mundo 🌍❤
Can you guys do a video: Is Rodri the best player in the world in 2024?
You explained it like a movie plot😂
just realized i wasn't subscribed after watching so many of your videos. Let me correct that.
What changed the game was getting rid of Alvarez in the middle. Cute player but doesn't create much in behind nor between the lines.
God I fear the day when Debruyne retires and there is almost no one who can be his replacement 😢
he did an interview with a "Dutch" interviewer; Dutch and German are not the same
You can't tell the difference between German and Belgian, he explained the goal to Belgian news channel
As a Liverpool fan, I'm not happy to see KDB on the pitch. Not at all. Maybe he could go play for Dortmund of something.
Once again EH revealed in all his tactical ineptness. He had one job. Stick Longstaff on KDB's shirt.
You're really funny

I still don't think doku is a city type player.
Please, it want a german channel but a Flamisch channel( belgian). Please respect our language. Thanks. Nice program
I mean Foden got in that position about 3 times, so that isnt true. kDB was just better when he waa there.
