Man, late night watching old songs from the day. Loved this one in the clubs in mid 80's, doing some tabs and dancing all freakin night long. Didn't even need a person to dance with just go out by yourself! Club Clearview in Dallas what a time.
This is great! Finally found a live performance! Most are lipsync and I don't know why cause they give a superb live performance. Much more powerful than lipsynced ❤
I think that's Richard Coles, he and Jimmy Somerville are "The Comunards" essentially but yeah, he usually stayed quite uptight behind the piano so it's quite entertaining to see him cut loose, he killed it
@@animeguygaming4803 where they stop singing and the track keeps playing, the last ten seconds they dance and stop singing and the vocals keep going and then there is the studio fade out.
This is not live. it seems it but watch the end. The track continues and they are not even singing anymore. Maybe bits of it were , the lead vocal perhaps but the instruments are clearly on tape - The lead vocals are different and you can hear them breathing at the beginning, but that end is hilarious. Sarah's mic appears off or turned down low and she appears to be miming for nearly all of it and Jimmy only seems to be actually singing in his solo parts, like at the beginning. I would guess though its all pre recorded.
They are singing to a "TV Track". It's the fully recorded version minus the lead vocals only. This song on the album / single is loaded with backing vocals and overdubs, all of which would be in place on the TV Track.
@@MRDL236123 ah makes sense that most of the layering and backing is from the cd. you can hear Jimmy is live for most of of it bar the end , you can hear is a little out of breath one the high bits becuase of dancing around. The last 30 seconds are not live at all. Sarah seems to only be live in very short bits and her mic seems to be off completly at the end, I wonder how much off her bit is actually live, if any .
One of the most uplifting songs of all time. A celebration of life!
Still the best in 2024
Whow....to be young again dancing to this absolutely awesome tune!!!
Sarah and Jimmy have such great chemistry!
Exactly!!!

THE GUY WITH SHORTS STEALS THE SHOW FROM JIMMY AND SARAH WITH HIS AMAZING DANCING.ANYBODY KNOWS HIS NAME?
It's Richard Coles, the synth player in The Communards.
@@modtl You sure? At the start of the clip it shows Rev Coles sitting down at a piano...
@@theozzy4717 I stand corrected! That is Richard on the piano doing what he does best! :D
@@modtl shame they didn't show him at 2:18😕

Thelma Houston did it best and she is the original 🕺🏿🌻
No, she is not. Harold Melvin and the Blue Notes are the original, with Teddy Pendergrass on lead vocal. :P czcams.com/video/krW3rOc0G3M/video.html
I feel like any version of the song is amazing. It’s just so damn good!
No, The Communards did it best, which is why the achieved the best selling single of 1986
Wrong, Thelma was a cover.
No she's not
