We have 6 kiddos from ages 6-16 (5 boys and 1 girl) yes they are all ours🤣. Annnddddd girrlllll Aldis is a life saver for our budget 👏🏻 love their organic fruit and veggies too!!!!

If your ever back in the Houston area and go a little north to Tomball they have a beautiful city park “ spring creek park “ that is full hookups for free for up to 14 days. Level cement pads, nice showers fifty feet away, great play area for kids, hiking trails and fishing if you have a pole. Thank you for your honesty

We are "stationary" for the most part and use weekends and school vacations for travel. I can't convince the hubby to boondock he loves long showers and cable TV. Austin Area campgrounds range from Rustic ones 450 to Luxury 1200+ per night.

Hello, my wife and I live in Montana (originally from California) I came across your youtube channel the other day, we watched the episode about Glacier National Park and now were hooked. Love your videos. My wife and I want to live and travel in an RV when we retire (we'd do it right now if we could). I choose not to watch too many RV youtube videos because its so hard to watch others do it when were not able to (yet).

Emergency funds are very important.. we had to have our transmission rebuild in Arizona and then more repairs in Vegas.
It sure is!! Last year we had to replace our trailer axle and do about $1500 repairs to our truck! If it hadn’t been for our Emergency Fund we would have been in big trouble!

I love your family, its a pleasure to watch you all. There are a few line items that get missed in RV expense videos, the biggest is depreciation on the RV and any tow car you have. It’s not just your monthly payment, its the fact that your rig and car loose money every year of their life. It was smart to buy used but even that used rig is dropping value like a rock every second of its life. Also you need to budget for the future, retirement and the kids education. These three items are not exclusive to RV living, everyone should aware of the true costs of their lifestyle.
People that live this lifestyle do not look at these vehicles for their resale value. They are viewed as tools to use for living and traveling. These tools are will be meticulously maintained until they can no longer effectively perform the job they were purchased to do and simply replaced. As far as “saving” for retirement and the kids education, some of us have not been brainwashed into conforming to society’s little box! So save all you’re extra money for when you are old and can no longer enjoy traveling and seeing this beautiful world? What if the market crash again and oops there goes all you’re retirement fund? But the most important thing is none of us are promised tomorrow, live life NOW! I learned that the hard way. My first wife of 27 years and the mother of my children and I worked hard our whole lives. Working jobs we hated and planning to travel full time and see the country once our kids were grown. We would sell the house and buy an rv and go do all the things we dreamed of. Well she was diagnosed with cancer in 2010 and passed away in 2011 at age 47. We never got to fulfill those dreams! Those kids are getting a far superior education than these DC sponsored indoctrination camps called schools. There are highly educated young people that most can’t use their degrees and are flipping burgers but are paying upwards of $100,000 in student loans because they were sold a false dream. Live life now don’t wait, fulfill you’re dreams before it’s too late.
If you are in Page and want the Antelope Canyon experience. Look up Antelope Canyon X (just down the highway a little further). Not as grand as "antelope canyon", but it was a fraction of the cost. The vendor sits out by the highway on a folding table and a hand written sign. When I went, I was down in the canyon for as long as I wanted to stay, and there was time I was the only one down there for 20+ minutes. Recommended for a family on a budget.

I am a full hookup camper. For me a Thousand Trails membership has saved me a lot of money. I seldom eat out and I have an espresso machine for my good coffee. Travel days I still cook and eat already prepared meals from the fridge or freezer.

Hi 👋!! Welcome to our channel! Yes we have done a few Q&As that’s answered some of those but I’ll quickly answer them. We travel about once per week. We homeschool M-F during except during summer. And we work a few hours per day. We are self employed so we can set our own hours. Hope that helps.

I took my grand kids to the Magnolia Cowboy Chruch Easter Egg Hunt yesterday and we got to watch 4,000 eggs being dropped by a helicopter!!! You mention the emergency fund of 5-10k, 10k being the best of course. After an expense comes up, how much do you set aside per month to replenish the emergency fund, and where does that come from? What would be the average someone should set aside for repairs (200/month, 500/month)?
Also, do you set anything aside for retirement or investing right now?

Both of you need to be spokes people for Fulltime RV living. Such beautiful speakers. If you ever come back to the Great Smoky Mountains. You can camp in my driveway. We would move our RV. And use our spot. Or we would call our good friend who owns a campground.

Living The RV Loca Life there are no sites to reserve.. just a big area to find a parking place. It’s called Lone Rock.
Just watched this video. Great info thank. Not on road yet. Would like to do in approximately 4 years. You are so right about emergency fund. We have fifth wheel and camp lically due to still working. But our pickup transmission went. Huge huge huge expense. Cost over $3000. Luckily my husband is mechanic and we had expense of transmission (diesel)....transmission was at great price is my husband would not have been able to do. It would have cost upward in amt of 7,000-8,000. So yes definitely budget emergency fund

We did visit Minnesota for 4 days in early June to see some friends.
One more comment, but KOA offers a work camping program that you can work about 20 hours each, and get free total camp sites.
Oh, man, you should have done Antelope Canyon. Worth every penny and may not be available someday. It was my very favorite (behind Grand Canyon) tour, ever.

We love them too...I'm originally from Indiana. Was born in Terre Haute. Dad worked for Archway cookies and we would go to Fort Wayne every year for conventions. Miss those trips as kids, they were so much fun!

Omg…. I am tired of renting and we are not prepared to purchase in Florida at this moment thank you so much for sharing your journey and your experience. I have so many questions and very curious. Is there something (buying motor home 101) I should maybe read before making such a large investment?

Love this. I have been doing Dave Ramsey's Baby Steps and the financial Peace budget app. To be out from under a mortgage and all the housing expenses and blah blah would be so awesome. We're praying through each day. We don't know yet what we would do as a business to support this kind of lifestyle. We have a type 1 diabetic and so we'd need a hefty emergency fund. Our kids are 11-9 months (5 of them!) My hubby is an asst. Transportation Manager. He works crazy long hours. The insurance is good. The leadership opportunities are great for him but our heart would be to travel and do ministry. But we want to make what we'd do in ministry free so having a business is essential. We're so willing to sell it all get rid of it all and just go. However a few things stop us. We'd lose 8% on our house because we've only been here a year. Working out income support other than my husband's job. We know we're here in TX for a short season because whatever is next for us starts here. Thank you for sharing your lives and being so open. Thank you! We both make money online in multiple ways but our primary income is with our health company we represent and are Ambassadors for. It’s called Plexus!! We started it just to improve our health but it turned into a Fulltime income!!

California gas and rv parking will break you! AND usually no room at parks at the beaches and boondocking minimal. Do a farm or wine country stay maybe. BTW Christian Healthcare is great!
