This song is so uplifting. Not a single song I dislike from Mumford & Sons; I love each one of them! They've helped me through things both petty and significant. I cannot stand people who say that modern music has no talent; it is obvious you just are not looking deep enough. Though considering the hiatus, I do hope they keep it up.
I think (hope) that the reason for the hiatus was so they could write more songs, and perhaps release a new album! ^_^
Modern mainstream music has no talent. This is pretty fucking great stuff though
Iv always loved Mumford myself. If u like folk music u must listen to. The dead south. And trampled by turtles. There blue grass and play the banjo and fiddle like god's.
and my head told my heart 'let love grow'
but my heart told my head 'this time, no'
i love this more than i can say, it hits deep with me because sometimes i feel like i shouldnt open my heart to someone, wether as a friend or more than that, because i know theyll leave me eventually like all the others have, but i do anyway. then they leave. this lyric is so beautiful.
And my head told my heart, "Let love grow"
But my heart told my head, "Nah. I say let it die! Let it die, let it die, let it shrivel up and- c'mon, who's with me?"
"You'll be happy and wholesome again
When the city clears and sun ascends"
GREAT SONG! i love mumford and sons! they deserve to be more famous because they actually have talent! unlike a lot of artists today. They have so much passion for their music and more people should recognize it!
I'm surprised how many people around where I live haven't even heard of Mumford and Sons. I'm 14 as well, and they're easily my favorite band.
This world is full of "songwriters" who are just in it for the money. We need meaning in our music today.
I'm planning to go backpacker by myself. And Mumford & Sons' music will absolutely be the only one to accompany me. Especially this song.
Wish I could listen to this for the first time again. Magical
My choir is singing this song. It's great. Love this song.
Beautiful song. Reminds me of my darling wife. how she guides me through my hardest times!!!
I remember the very first song I heard from Mumford and Sons was Roll Away Your Stone on the radio around 2011, didn’t remember who they were or the song but I remember how much it stood out with the use of the banjo and then heard I Will Wait in 2018, looked it up and had no idea it was by them too. Then I just started listening to a bunch more songs on Apple Music by them and ran into this song which is one of my top 5 favorites by them. Heck I didn’t even know they were a British band until I looked them up and this song really brings out their accent the most.
I love how their songs can fill me up with such happiness and peace, that I didn't know it was possible.
i swear yesterday this only had like 1500 views...AWESOME how it grew so fast! love this band!

Main stream music is so disgusting. This is pure REAL music with real talent. Mumford and Sons you rock guys!
I can't wait to see them tomorrow at BBK Live!!
never get bored heard Mumford&Sons song
Don't you love it when a song describes how you feel at the moment? Yet you hate it at the same time...
Love it
Yes, because this way they can feel special about themselves, that they are supporting an underrated band.
I... I have never heard the term 'Thumbwhore' But... It-it's the description of perfection... So much truth...
That's a like from me!
nice, clear, and to the point :)
Great song! :)
I LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE THIS
Mumford and Sons are literally one of the most popular bands in the world right now. No one who listens to them is anything special.
you're going places, kid.
im 12 and its good to know im not the only person my sort of age group that loves this music :D
Is it just me, or today's music getting better?
I love this song and every beat/lyric that is in it. The one thing I wish is that the main lyrics were reversed. It always seems to be the opposite for me......... My head tells me "no" while my heart is bursting with the word, "YES." It is always so depressing......... It is so terrible how the heart and the head tend to dispute on matters of love.
Yes, but on this case his heart was hurt from before, so no, " this time no", love it, i don't know why people aren't jumping on the rooftops.
I think that line makes the song sadder. While the addressee may be a good fit for the singer, the singer is just not emotionally ready to invest in a relationship.
This is the exact problem I'm dealing with right now... I wish it was easier to decide between my heart and my head.
Agreed. For me personally it makes a lot more sense my head telling my heart "this time no" and not the other way around....
Beautiful song!. Shame, it has so less views!
I agree ^.^
& I also love Mudvayne, Daughtry & Three Days Grace.
So all I'm sayin is ppl have different taste in music but its fine. I don't understand why ppl get mad/upset over such trivial topics.
"~*~ SPECIAL SNOWFLAKE ~*~" LOLOLOL I LOVE YOU
LYRIC
As the winter winds litter London with lonely hearts
Oh, the warmth in your eyes swept me into your arms
Was it love or fear of the cold that led us through the night?
For every kiss, your beauty trumped my doubt
And my head told my heart
"Let love grow"
But my heart told my head
"This time no"
"This time no"
We'll be washed and buried one day, my girl
And the time we were given will be left for the world
The flesh that lived and loved will be eaten by plague
So let the memories be good for those who stay
And my head told my heart
"Let love grow"
But my heart told my head
"This time no"
Yes, my heart told my head
"This time no
This time no"
Oh, the shame that sent me off from the God that I once loved
Was the same that sent me into your arms
Oh, and pestilence is won when you are lost, and I am gone
And no hope, no hope will overcome
But if your strife strikes at your sleep
Remember spring swaps snow for leaves
You'll be happy and wholesome again
When the city clears and sun ascends, heh
And my head told my heart
"Let love grow"
But my heart told my head
"This time no"
And my head told my heart
"Let love grow"
But my heart told my head
"This time no
This time no"
so its a "im breaking up with you" song right?
I don't think so, It's more a song about "until death separates you. I now pronounce you husband and wife, you may kiss the bride."
PRUSER27 Mercy, no. It's an "I'd like to love you, but I just don't" song. It's feeling guilt for leading someone on, mostly because he truly wishes he did love her.
I think this song is about fear getting into a relationship due to coming out of a bad one. Finding someone unexpectedly unable to love them due to fear.
Hey all! (In accordance to the "bandwagon" comments, I am also 15 and listening to Mumford and Sons. They're an awesome band, and there's nothing wrong with listening to their music and loving it. They also got the "Best 2012 album" award for a reason, just sayin') I play trumpet, and as you can hear, this song has a great, toneful solo in it. Does anyone have a link to the sheet music, or know what note it starts on (I could probably figure it out from there)? It starts at 2:42. Thanks!
im 13 and Mumford and sons ARE AWSOME
herd on pandora and love it instently
it only lets me like it once...
when I was 14/15 I got laughed at by fellow 14/15 year olds for listening to bands such as The Stone Roses, The Beautiful South, Radiohead, Oasis etc, while they listened to happy hardcore and whatever generic shit was top of the charts back then. Im 34 now, and most of the kids who laughed, now listen to these bands themselves! In time, the ones who laugh at you will maybe see the light and join the party. In the meantime, youre one step ahead :)
this was me and my ex`s song.
Preach! (:
This song makes me feel like a British Officer in colonial America
Why does it only show my views? There should be a lot more than that.
DAT BRASS!
That video was released when I was about just 6 years old, idk. I’m 16 years old now though
*UPDATE* - I’m now 17
@magiclilytabby2000 The Cave is just behind this song followed by Little Lion Man.

I LOVE it! just wondering, how did you get this song on here? i've looked for it on the youtube music and its not there. =(
u are sooooooo lucky
you got a few errors, but i think this is a great video!!!!!!!
I like finding new people here, recent comments.
im 15 i like mumford and sons but i also like one direction there is nothing wrong with different music genres everyone has their taste no need the call other artist "manufactured shit" just cause its not your taste
Ov Fire and The Void is great, though I prefer "At the left hand ov God". As you can see, I listen to various types of music too, it's just impossible to stick with only one kind...
Just because you don't like mainstream music doesn't make you a hipster.
you can press it again to reverse it
IMO the song talks about “realization”, in this case about the ending of a love story. So why a so cheering and hopeful tone? Because it’s saying that if your HEAD keeps telling you to keep trying, because you are afraid of letting go, but your HEART is feeling sad and refuse to keep going, you HAVE to let go. It invites you to realize what makes you happy, that keeping a relationship based on fear is wrong and poisonous. So as the winter winds clear the clouds of your time and people change, embrace the new fresh air and change. For your heart. For your happiness.
beautiful realizations. very much true through and through. we are all we have; yet if we live life for another, we cease to for ourselves. keep moving forward, always. more life. love only :)
