Nara ink was created in the city of Nara, Nara Prefecture. It is thought to have originated in the village of Asuka. Even after the capital of Japan shifted from Nara to Kyoto, because Nara has so many temples and shrines, ink producers pooled in the area to create ink required for copying sutras and scholarly endeavors. Lamp soot ink created from soot of the eternal flame at Kofuku-ji Temple became known as high-quality Nara ink, and the product has developed a long tradition to this day.

I love how many mundane things taken for granted else where are made into artisanal crafts in Japan, it shows a different attitude in life.

Any machine, any AI will ever replace human hands and brain. Never.
Me as a wood craftsman is this channel source of big inspiration. Japanese craftsmen are from another world.
Such a discipline, dedication, passion, focus, giving whole heart to what Im doing are properties which are not very common in nowadays in this corrupted world.
Im trying to do it in same way because for every craftsman the biggest satisfaction is when his work will last for generations.
Im seeking inspiration mainly from this channel because we are on the same mindset.
    Thank you 🙏
