The green s13 was a first for me haha. Never seen a s chassis used as a rally car
I have to wonder if less ambitious scandi flicks would result in a faster overall time through that corner for most of those drivers?
It looked like only one driver really nailed the corner (the WRX at about 3:30ish).
Most definitely! Although this is a well known spectator point for this rally and I can assure you, the drivers are usually more interested in putting on a show than being fast through here!
You obviously missed the Datto that did it smooth with less fuss

So missing chasing rallys some in the middle of no where with skills and entertainment and with good people .
Big difference in engine.. I do enjoy the feeling of turbo, but the sound of naturally aspirated is just so much more lovely

First time seeing S13s rally! Great to see the chassis do more then drift
The tree on the outside beckoned a couple of times. It would have been nice to see some of the front wheel guys attack that corner.

Minis are for young girls
Unfortunately there are not a lot of Mini's rallying in Australia. Mostly it's confined to historic rally.
3:44 would have been a perfect corner for the holden
Seeing this corner I sure do miss Colin. He would obliterate it, the car, any misunfortunate signs or barriers, and still make time on anyone. Probably already missing a wheel.
Cool spot to catch them at! You can really tell how much AWD helps out.

Where abouts is this in Victoria State, Australia, is it by a town ?
Its funny how a lot of drivers seem to think that the flick and wide slide in the dirt is the way to go, no.matter.what..
The few drivers who used logic, stayed on the asphalt for braking and turn-in and made it through that corner way faster.

lol that was a Holden Commodore Mutley . special edition that when it wakes up and finds a gear it likes does the standard 3 donuts to sort out with way go and lay some gearbox oil as it goes .

A majority of the Victorian Rally season happens within a few hour drive of Melbourne. If you check out: vicrally.com.au all the info will be there for 2022.

Yes, every round is open for spectating with the Service Park the best place to start to get a look at the cars + chat with drivers/teams.
From there they will usually have directions to the spectator points, which are often the easiest to access with parking ability. + It's all free.

This is like when a group of kids at a bowling alley first learn about putting spin on the ball. 99% end up in one gutter or the other. The ones that make it to the end usually don't hit too many pins.

Those Scandinavian flicks are fun to watch but a lot of drivers overstrain it. Those flicks must be done faster so you can keep the speed and burn less tyres.

We're very lucky with some of the diversity we get in Australian Rally. However, Europe has some immense fields and cool events!

80% of these divvys would have been WAY quicker if they'd have used a circuit racing line. Brake late in a straight line and turn in under control...

It's held annually as part of the Victorian Rally Championship.
