@@am_Neinyes they are unfortunately… you should talk to my second trumpets.. one can’t even get his low c in the right pitch, and we’re in advanced band 😂
I played the trumpet for seven years and absolutly loved it. Unfortunatly, I had to switch to the tuba because of my teeth. I mean, its a cool new experience and it has a lot more to over than just backround music and bass line, but its just not the same as beeing first chair in an orchestra😢
I have never heard of warming down. Do you have any advice or what kind of exercises you play? My first thought is playing the kind of exercises that reinforce the basics of technique, lots of focus on good tone, tune, and posture. Is there anything else to it beyond reinforcing standard habits?
Warming down can honestly be a lot of things depending on the person. Most commonly though is just to start at a low c and go down from there. Warming down should only take a few seconds or so. This is personally what I and most people I know do though, so ofc do some research on your own too
This is my fourth year playing trumpet. I've been first chair for a while now but ever since I got my braces in, I've moved down to third. My playing has been terrible because my embouchure is messed up and it's weird to play now. I've been practicing a lot to help but it doesn't get any better. Any tips??
My sister had her trumpet crushed by a chair after a Assembly a few years ago and the school paid for it because it was a freak accident and my brother in high school could circle breathe
Ok, so you should always warm down. When you play, you should clean your mouth piece at least every once in a while. Because you should never be eating the crumbs in your mouth piece. And then the second one though. Apparently you are not supposed to do because well. It can cause the horn to be damaged. And he knows this and I'm sure he's just posting this as a kind of gag. Type thing But in case people thought he was actually being serious about this. I wanted to make that known
I'm a flutest and i wanna say, never ever... take care of your fluet if you do you will impress the instructor and no one wants that. Every flute in my class takes horrible care of their flute that the instructor doesn't ask us to play in front of everyone.(this is a lie)
Sobbing my fucking eyes out because another dude in my class was putting valve oil in for me and ripped 2 of the valves out at the same time and now its broken
1st chair giving the new second chair advice

@@Sigmicator6947ay but sometimes they need ittttt
As a first chair I have seen this happen with other interments in my class😂😂😂
Pro tip: don’t practice at all or else the higher chairs get jealous and beat you up in a dark alley way
Oh yeah for sure, thats a universal tip😊
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Lol😂
Then that one newbie percussionist who is better than everyone: you beat me up? Nah it be the other way around. 😊

Also don't let the teacher get the mouthpiece out if it gets stuck, put honey in it and pull on it
This helped me so much! Thank you
make sure u never practice at home so ur parents don't make u impress ur aunts and cousins
thank you man with this i finally got first chair(i’m a tbone and i ironically was first chair for a long time)
That crumbs one is soooo true!!!
As a trumpet player I can confirm
i got 1st chair by warming down lmaoo

What does warming down mean? Thanks
Pro tip: put the mouthpiece in the bell for a unique sounding mute. Has to be in tight though.
I’m a flutist, but with the mouth piece thing…I never learned how to clean it and green gunk started to grow along the inside 😃
YOOOO, IM PLAYING SUMMON THE HEROS FOR SPRING CONCERT
As a trombonist, we call all the dried up stuff in the mouthpiece “smurfs”
VERY PRO TIP if you get thirsty drink your soil valve it will always be flavored too
guys TRUST ME dont EVER do this!!
I’m second person down on the front row and everyday I’m so glad I’m not first/principle cornet because I’m happy doing duets but I hate Soho’s!

As a clarinet player who has no interest in playing trumpet, this is very accurate.
Our band teacher has minty spray for our mouthpieces 😋🤤

I am a 1st chair player as a freshman it's fun
Nice looping
I will follow this advice 💯💯🗣️
I'm taking notes
As a trumpet player, thank you for the advice-
As a trumpet player this is all true even if it doesn’t seem like it 😐
WHAT THE HELL DO YOU MEAN “you won’t have any more crumbs to munch on”?! 💀 as a trumpet player, the first two I already do but WHAT THE HELLLLL 😂
He’s making a joke about eating and leaving no crumbs which is slang for doing something very very well.
@@catnix7256 I’m aware of that 😂 I am also a trumpet player but this got me on the floor 💀
Speaking from experience here- don’t rest your trumpet on the chair like that… too many dents… too many..😔

I like playing the solos lmao
Dont forgot to not oil your values so you can give your fingers a good workout
love watching these vids lol

"The extra crumbs" 💀💀💀
Oh, I thought this was serious. I’m already first chair in my concert band in college, and I’m working on a solo for my recital class
Mouth pieces are like cast iron skillets, if ypu wash them the protective coating wears off.
as a flute, WHAT CRUMBS 😭😭😭

I am assuming I should also refrain from buying a lotus mouthpiece for the same reason as number 1??

Wait a minute.. these sound like pretty good tips not bad ones?
I never warmed down, but i am still first chair what that mean 😅
i haven't cleaned my trombone mouthpiece in about a month. but, i'm never hungry!
