can you please help me with what type of oil A 2003 X5 3.0i SUV takes and what filter. I look it up and all types come up, no specific one. Would like to find out so i can change the oil myself. Thank you. I have always had American made cars, which was easier to take care of. lol.

I have some links for the oil and filters in the description above. I use mobil 1 or Castrol edge 0W40 in our X5 and E39 530i (same engine). The K&N filter is good and is only about $6 on Amazon. Hope it helps!

Yess Peace you’ll need an OBD ii scan tool to do that. Check your codes. Fix the root issue. Otherwise, if you simply erase the engine light it will come back on within 1 to 100 miles depending on the issue
