I used a size 4 steel hook to put "pearls" on #10 crochet thread for a bracelet. That was enough for me to say never again, so your perseverance is impressive. And I love the looped beading on the sides. Well done!
I once tried to make some knit "cinderella" gloves that had beadwork. Yeah I made one glove. Made the fingers too short, had to redo them all, and when I ripped them down I decided it was not worth it. (Having to break the yarn several times also may have made the point of never trying again.) 🙃
About the stickers - have you ever considered selling printable versions of your knitting journal stickers? I would love to order some but I live all the way in East Africa and the shipping and customs fee would likely cost several times the price of the actual stickers lol. A printable alternative would be a great way for us to enjoy the designs without having to deal with all of that. Just a thought! Loved the video as always.
Your unending patience for doing these intricate projects is amazing! Incredible to watch. Thanks so much for sharing your passion with us.
I love how you're building a knitting journals community! I keep one for my sewing, a spiral-bound graph paper notebook that reminds me of the lab notebooks that we were required to keep in high school chemistry. It's helped me a lot to take notes on what goes wrong and what I'd like to try differently next time a la chem lab, especially as I'm developing my own patterns and doing a lot of trial and error with different construction methods. The idea that our crafting journals could be future dress historians' primary sources is so funny and cool. "Ah yes," future historians might say, "some transmascs found French seams less itchy than other seam finishes of the period." This whole project of yours is such fun to follow along with and these bags turned out so pretty!
When you dropped the beads my heart stopped 😂❤ it turned out gorgeous! I feel so spoiled getting all these videos, but very gratefull. Lovley series!
Omg, so, someday I hope you put together a compilation of Nutella being adorable, just for the laughs. (I feel this way about all craft channels I follow, since everyone has adorable pets)
@@rosacanisalba I was just thinking about Nutella and Canelle meeting!
They are beautiful . I wish you showed how to attach them to the metal frames because I wanted to make a bag like this for a while but wasn’t sure how to attach it
I agree, I would be interested in watching how to attach the handles also.
The black purse with the gold beads is lovely
The black and gold bag is so pretty but not so much the edge work, too fussy for me. Can't wait to see you and your mum both in the full ensemble. 😊
There is so many talented designers and artists - Your channel addicted love love love and I have a ton of beads !!
Crocheting with beads or sequins is so time consuming, nerve-wracking and mini-crying sessions when everything goes haywire but in the end it's so worth.
Beautiful purses!
😩😩😩😩 omg! Was in a crochet rut but you just put me on with those purses! The black with the red lining!!! OMG STUNNING!!!
these turned out absolutely stunning! genuinely obsessed with the black and gold purse! i just went and found a pdf of the book, so i might have to give it a try myself! 🥰
5:30 maybe "suitable" instead of eligible/applicable? Anyway, I get what you mean! :) Those purses are so beautiful! The black and gold one really turned out wonderfully in particular.
I am always a fan of a Victorian bag!! Thank you!! I do crochet !!
This reminds me of tatting, where you have to string the beads onto the thread before you wind it on the shuttle. The end result is so beautiful though!
An easy way to pick up spilled beads is to put a sock over the end of a vacuum hose turn on the vacuum and all the beads are now on the sock. Turn the vacuum off and they will drop into your container
beautiful works !!! You could put your woollen blanket on the table while working with beeds- they won´t roll away.
Beautiful work! Gorgeous! Spectacular! Thanks for sharing.
What i have done for this type of project in the past is string the beads on fine sewing thread and hold with the cotton. I know it is not as written, but solved the issue for me
These are so cool!! I've wanted to try beaded crochet for so long (to make snake necklaces) but haven't gotten around to trying yet. This is so inspiring!
They are stunning and what a piece of art they are. I found another solution for my walking skirts, they huuuuuuge pockets with loops inside (biastape). In this loops I can insert small hooks for my purse, my phone and so on. So I don't have to carry a bag with me, and NOBODY can play pick-pocket with me :O)))))
If you end up doing more work where you need to string a lot of beads I highly recommend a bead spinner. There are manual ones, but I could never spin it properly, so I got one that is battery powered and it's amazing. Of course I found out about them AFTER I knitted a large mohair lace shawl and manually added over 3000 seed beads, one by one.
The black and gold purse is gorgeous! I love the pattern and it is so delicately and perfectly put together ❤
Personally, I would simply sew the missing beads into place with a thin black thread. ^ ^
If you get more into beading crochet, i know there's these neat spinny things to more easily get those tiny beads onto the needle without threat of spilling. (I get tiktok videos about it, but that's the extent of my knowledge)
Yes, bead spinners, they are amazing. They have manual and electric ones.
Those look fabulous! So - ah, hem - appropriate for many eras!
I looove the look of beadwork and crochet! Also this video was the perfect length to watch while I wove in all my ends on a crochet cardigan! now it is done
Your patience is astonishing! The purse is absolutely gorgeous! ✌❤🇨🇦
I enjoyed watching your process...nicely done. Thank you for doing this video.
I felt your pain when the beads spilled 😢
Oh nooo... When you spilled I was like ah yes that would be me 1000%
Oh they are gorgeous. I need to find something similar in knitting.
Excellent work and stitching on the purses.😊
I’ve had similar experience with beadwork, and the easiest thing is just to restring every one in a while. Otherwise, you just need to give yourself a lot of slack to move the beads back as the creep closer to your work. Also, I think it’s very fun to see the “mistakes” because you can see similar “mistakes” in antique beadwork, too.
I always love to peruse Etsy looking at new old stock of steel cut beads and antique miser’s purses for sale. Unfortunately, a lot of the purses and strings of beads I come across are almost always rusted. Not even sure if there’d be a way to safely clean the purses, but possibly the individual beads (not attached to purses) could be cleaned. Idk, it might be worth checking out for any future purses.
This is exquisite work. I hope people will recognize the skill that you need do domit anf it gets dislayed somewhere after you're done using git
So pretty! Great job! I have a love/hate relationship with beaded crochet; I love the final result, and hate stringing the beads onto the thread! More so, the seemingly endless task of sliding the beads down to expose thread with which to actually crochet.
You are so clever! That urge will be gorgeous,
Be sure you have a good light working wth those dark colors and tiny stitches.
Seed beads are evil and best worked with over a cookie pan or similar catching device 😉
Thank you, love the bread, ❤
The beading really turned out beautiful.
Absolutely gorgeous! ❤❤
They are gorgeous!
I am impressed you can crochet such complex patterns and with a very fine hook. I am a 61 year old woman who is only now learning to crochet. I can’t seem to get my head and hands around how to knit.
These are great! I love looking at antique knit/crochet bags online and hope to reproduce more someday.
If you want to do more beaded projects in the future, I've found that size 15 seed beads are the closest in size to Victorian beads. Potomac Bead Company is a great online shop that should have all the colors you could want. Faceted steel beads are trickier though - generally I have to trawl etsy for antique bead lots if I want those XD
I am OBSESSED
So pretty!
Stunning work!
Such a labor of love, they both came out beautifully!!
WOW those bags came out beautifully.
both beautiful
Is there a pattern for the hair piece snood situation? It's really cute.
Enjoying seeing your hands working.
Those are absolutely stunning!!!❤
These bags are so beautiful !!! I hope i can make one soon i think you did a fab job on these !!! Thank you for sharing ❤
Oooh, exciting!! Let's see what you've made! 😍
Such precise work ! I barely know how to crochet (more of a knitter) but that makes me want to learn !
They are wonderful 😁
Lovely!!! Thanks for sharing. 😊
My goodness that beaded purse is amazing!
Love those small gold beads! Great sampling and showing us the process
They're so gorgeous!
And Nutella is so so very cute
these came out so cute!!
When I was younger I lost count of the times I accidentally left something behind … the purses are so beautiful, but I know I would lose one! I stick with pockets; they are impossible to forget!
Absolutely gorgeous. You are a very talented lady ❤
these are so beautiful!
I LOVE IT!!!! Your work is so beautiful!! Thank you for sharing 😍😍😍
Amazing work! I absolutely love the golden beading on the dark purse, so delicate! Great job!
These turned out so beautiful! The beading and colourwork patterns are so pretty 😍
Gorgeous! Those crochet purses turned out so well. I so admire your fine detailed work.
These are so unique.I am currently crocheting the Shamrock and Rose Bag.
Really lovely! You should be very proud of your beautiful purses.
Wow. These are absolutely stunning! I love the beaded side loops on the black purse. Very stylish.
Well done, so much work has gone into those and it was worth it. I like the black one best.
Incredible 🤩
They turned out so beautfully! And your Ada Lovelace gown is one of my favourites.
They are both stunning! Amazing! Also, yes, Nutella is adorable 🥰
Loved those purses ❤❤❤❤
Beautiful 😍
an idea for stringing beads, I've scene a woman do this with lace weight yarn and beads, , hank the thread, vs ball string a manageable number of beads run then almost all the way to the end ball than, string more and ball and so forth, so as you work beads come up in the ball every few wraps, that way your never sliding 100 plus beads at a given time its much more 'set up, but allows you to work undistracted by beading more mid project.
Wonderful
I enjoy your channel
Thank you for sharing
When you spilled those seed beads I can relate. You must get a bead spinner if you do any serious beading. It is a game changer.
They look very tudor-ish to me. Also beautiful. Such a good match.
If you ever bead again, you can buy stranded beads. Transferring is easy & fast--maybe 1 min per strand.
i love your jumper, it's giving sutton-hoo
They both turned out amazing! I do relate to not finding words now and then - although it’s worse when I haven’t been out much (I speak German at home & live in the UK).
I've always wanted to make my own beaded crochet purse. There's so little information out there on how to make one.
It's so time consuming that they aren't mass manufactured and they're so rare to see especially if it happens to be newly made.
Those purses are beautiful!! Well done! ✨ 23:56
OMG! such talent..stunning work :)
THE EFFFOORTTT!!😮😮👏👏wow!!❤
Gorgeous purses! I always wondered how that was done. Sweet Nutella 🐶💞
...... am I now going to inevitably add a glorious beaded purse to the pile of projects needed for my rapidly approaching ball deadline? Who can say??
/screams internally
18:47 the frogging was a nice touch, it’s apart of the process
wow 😍love it! 👍
I love your channel
I’m new to your channel and I am impressed with your work!

My new Mugs: www.etsy.com/listing/1461951286/knitting-keeps-me-from-unravelling-mug
It took a bit longer to finish the bags, but I am very happy with how they turned out! Which crochet purse do you prefer? Or maybe you like the silk bags best?
I love those purses!
