just basic maths. if you go from 200% critdam to 220% critdam thats a 10% increase (with 100% crit), if you get another 10% dmg to boss buff thats NOT 20% in total, but 1.1 * 1.1 = 1.21 so 21% increase. Depending how the game groups buffs/dmg these multipliers can stack up quick! :)
I was leaning towards Bard before watching any videos comparing the two supports and now seeing how people(not you) are saying Paladin is the better support it just makes me wanna play Bard more. I'm not about that ezmode life.

You forgot 2 increribaly impportant thing. FIRST. paladin can heal with out using X totaly. Cuz Shield heal 8% max hp every 40s(tripod). With good CD its can be 8% hp every 8 sec. And this mean 60% max HP heal for party members every 64 seconds and 100% Shields uptime.This mean paladin heal totaly NOT depending on Engraving at all. You can create DPS Pading build with Agility as main stat and take shield skill : your heal be insanely well ,same with shielding + you do good damage .SECOND.Becaus of this paladin can change Shield tripod on another what decrease time of shield to 4s but total shield increase from 20% to 51% of max HP .This mean paladin provide incredible shiled defence from Big attacks,what Bard can not do. P.S. :That 2 most common and big mistakes what ppl do when try compare this 2 classes.
ohh forgot to say about 3th difference what bard can not do. another Tripod in same line as Shorter shield but stronger is..... Debuff cleaning for all party.For some figths in game its realy important.But Bard can give buff to party what give immune VS ability of boss what can move.
@@blackshepherd9560 1 of paladins tripods gives the shield a debuff cleanse, bard doesnt have that however bard has a tripod which gives immunity to crowd control.

I understand where you are coming from. But i have a feeling(not 100%) supports will be rare and any supports will be welcomed. For paladins, it looks like awakening with stone and blessed aura class engraving with abyss dungeon accessories/books will have to do for t1.
I played Paladin in the CBT. Bard definitely has better heals in t1/t2 though from what I saw, BUT I had more than enough to do my job. I managed to get some Class/Awakening accessories, and a good ability stone, so I had lvl 2 Awakening and lvl 1 Blessed Aura. However, the 2nd Awakening questline was bugged, so I was using the DPS Awakening. Therefore, in terms of support engravings I only had the Class tier 1, and then only towards the end of t2. It was more than enough. The real thing is that people need to be on top of their mechanics, right; you're there for that 'oh, shit' moment. Neither of the supports are going to save a player from constantly failing or not doing mechanics.
Welp, I'm choosing Bard only because I have more fun with her, tho its still only alt character. Main will be Blade and then LM (cause I doubt they will being her at the start) and as 3rd I want so utility for my friends xD

Most of the solo relevant stuff will be focused in story questing(which u can party up) which are not really challenging. End game contents like Guardian raids are soloable but with dps settings and will be challenging.

@@dambros yea they won't be easy solo. But guardian raids are designed for party play. You can matchmake or find party in the UI. Support solo play are for people like me who needs content:)
Like on any MMO, if you have the entire day to play you can do anything. That probably would mean you are a kid on highschool. If you're an adult with a job or uni I doubt that you can.

That depends. Bard's heal is more bursty and wholesome while paladin's heal little by little. If we are talking about heal only, I'd say bard's heal is better.

Watched one pvp match with Bard and immediately knew I would never touch that class. The harp sounds, in my personal opinion, are atrocious.

Wanted to main Lance Master, but they wont be out for NA launch so my back up will be Paladin till Lance Master comes out.
