      Music has no colors. There is a piece of every type of music we can all relate to...regardless of genre, country of origin or even language. Once you open your ears to the stories it's easy to realize we are all very similar. Tech has made it easier to connect to different generations and I'm glad we are here together. Alton is greatness! Keep it up, Jeannie. We are all distant neighbors.

    The "flute" solo is actually much later "add-on" played on a synthesizer. However done with a good taste. The 1969 original is a couple of minutes shorter. This extended version with the flute-like synth solo was released on the 1995 CD version of the album.
    Just for your information, it doesn't diminish the greatness of the original a bit, in my opinion.
    Cheers.

    • @steveb5129
      @steveb5129 Před 7 lety +2

      Yes Juha, you are correct. There is also a different cut with vocal by Alton & Hortense, wherein Alton's vocal is very slightly differently phrased, so I assume he sang it back with Hortense later. I also love the 12", but my favorite is the great Lennie Hibbert vibes cut. The synth here sounds more like whistling, rather than a flute per se. All best wishes to all the Helsinki massive /steve

    From A 54 year old Jamaican girl who was born in Hackney East London I agree with you> I LOVE ALTON ELLIS.
    I heard him first when my family moved to Kingston Jamaica. DANCE CRASHERS. I was 7 years old.

    Lennie Hibbert's cut "Montego Rock" is just awesome. Sugar Minott 's "Give Me Jah Jah" is legendary. The riddim is just wicked. The Sound Dimension at the very top of their game.

    I wish people stopped telling their race, when they leave a comment. people are people and music is music. regardless who you are and regardless what you listen to.

    One of my favourites had him on two shows at only 29 years old. He was a gentleman and a true professional. He performed twice with his sister Hortense. Classic...Thanks for the memories. Ellis family.

    This song is so deep na tell no lie this truth the pain of someone leaving you who truly love with all your soul and HEART ❤holding on 2 them as they dragging away from you thAN A BELL ring in your mind and it say time let go and let god have them. So i learn this in life if someone' want 2 leave its ok I'm not forcing or GIVING my love 2 no one who don't want it or appreciate it i will kindly HELP them pack their suitcase with a big smile😁on my face if it's meant 2 be it will. I'm running or chacing no mf who is not worthy of me and love yes breaking up is hard 2 do but it will pass and you will live👹👼👹
