- I do not own any of the video clips in this video I'm just creative! So please don't sue me and such. This is Def Leppard's song Gods Of War put to the videos of I Don't Wanna Miss A Thing, Two Steps Behind, Under Pressure, Animal, Hysteria, Rocket, Rock Of Ages, Armageddon It, Foolin', Pour Some Sugar On Me, Photograph, When love And Hate Collide, Women and Bringin' On The Heartbreak(first version), all of which are owned and copyrighted by Aerosmith, Queen, and Def Leppard.
Lyrics:
Feelin' like it's all over, feelin' like there's no love
Feelin' like it's not easy, breathin' life in the dust
On a countdown to zero take a ride on the nightmare machine
There ain't gonna be heroes
There ain't gonna be anything
Oh
Here it comes, here comes the night
Here it comes, hell in the night
Here it comes, here comes the night
When we all fall down
When we walk into silence
When we shadow the sun
When we surrender to violence
Oh
Then the damage is done
Put away that gun!
I don't wanna be there
I don't wanna be anywhere
Oh!
[Repeat Bridge]
That's right!
We're fightin' for the gods of war but what the hell we fightin' for?
We're fightin' with the gods of war but I'm a rebel
[guitar solo]
And I ain't gonna fight no more no way!
On a countdown to zero
Take a ride on the nightmare machine
There ain't gonna be heroes
(Whoa)
There ain't gonna be anything
No!
[Repeat Bridge]
Don't ya know that's right!
[Repeat Chorus]
And (a) I ain't gonna fight no more
(Stop)
Stop fightin' for the gods of war
(Stop fightin' for the gods of war)
Yeah what the hell we fightin' for?
(What in the hell we fightin' for?)
We're fightin' with the gods of war
Heavy! - Hudba
Def Leppard's most underrated song.
Yeah, it was released on their most successful albums (in terms of sales) but this always felt like a hidden gem to me.
SleightOfHand they finally played it live again when i saw them again in 2013 in MA and i was like the only one it seemed who remembered the lyrics haha ive always loved this song and it def doesnt get the popularity i think it should, great song, it was funny a few of the adults around me looked at me shocked this young girl is singing along to this song they dont even know hahaha im only 23 but ive been a fan of def leppard for a long time, since i was like 9-10 and i was obsessed haha, it kills me i was not alive during the 80's
It's never underrated in true rockers minds!
Def Leppard's most underrated song of all time is 'White Lightening" in my opinion.
I totally Agree🎸🎵🇬🇧
I'm so shocked that this song isn't at the one million because it's one of their best songs ever of the 80s
jackie g AGREED
absolutely. love it.
That guitar rift is way out standing
@@dsavish I’m going back h

Steve Clark. A criminally underrated guitar player. RIP
Absofrikinlutely 💙🎵🎸🇬🇧
Agreed! If we had more quality recordings and footage of him playing demos and live solos (like all the other greats seem to have by the boatloads), I think more people would realize what we had in Steve. But unfortunately it seems he was also criminally private when it came to "behind the scenes" kind of stuff.
Not at all underrated, he has been really recognized as one of the nicest guitarrist of that time, it's very notice how Def Leppard came down since he died... he was the brain of the band
@@petMonster28 phil does a series on steve. Says they used to play and figure it out. They have a shit ton of steve playing but will never release it. Just like how phil redid all of steves parts on adrenalize. We worked tirelessly making riffs and melodies.
His intro riff to this song is a little piece of rock heaven
The best song on the Hysteria album. An album that's full of great tracks and one of the best albums of the 80's.
The intro to this song is 👍👍👍
CJ of course the beginning of this song is amazing, it's STEVE'S RIFF!
It's fire …..
Steve Clark...your my guitar hero..God rest your soul...thanks for the skipping school memories...now I'm a great guitar player like you.
So cool! He would have done Great things!💙🎵🎸
Great name Katherine. Love it!
Def Leppard is the best rock band I've ever heard. I fell in love with them when I first heard them in the eighties. I'm giving my age away, that's OK! LOL! I love Joe Elliot's voice and looks, too. The other band members aren't to shabby either. What I'm really impressed with is how they all sound together and how they work so well together. Eighties music rocks and is the best, in my opinion! Thumbs up to you Def Leppard!!!
Now I'm only 15 but ever since I first heard them I've loved them! I've seen them twice in concert and they still sound amazing
Sydney Brazier hey!!! Im 16 and i love def leppard too!!!
I have noticed recently i my 80's revival psychosis :P that british rock bands are much more like family (Maiden, leppard, QUEEN!!!) and that american top rock bands are managed more like a business.
In that respect I am proud to be british.
I saw this concert twice, once in the round. They are amazing!
@@JoeyMcSmokey i kick myself in the ass not seeing steve play.
Best def leppard song EVER !!! I wish they played it at the shows ... Did get to hear it at one show in Massachusetts though 💖
Well, they actually play it often. If you watch the Live in the Round in Denver, they play it
+Tanner Tot they don't play it in New England. Only once they did . They did gods of war and don't shoot shot gun . It was fkn awesome 😊
+Bree Wormwood I bet it was! I recently got into Don't Shoot Shotgun and I freaking love it!
Awesome. What year and what venue in Massachusetts?
FUCKING AWESOME, SEMPER FI OOO RAHHHH!
This song takes on a whole new meaning when one is severely depressed.
'yer not alone
Hang in there my friend
Take care, my friend. I've struggled with suicidal thoughts all my life. I can understand why Steve took drugs and alcohol. Just to forget. Hang in there!
Greatest quote EVER---" They counted on Americans to be pacifist-They counted wrong" Ronald Reagan--gives me chills every time I hear it
setting aside the commercial hits, this imo is the best song on the album
..it's way better than Pour Some Sugar on Me, in my opinion anyway.
Very underrated song IMO.
kayla therese i see them in 2005 on the rock of ages concert who took me my cousin bobby and i got to me three of their member Phil collen and vivian Campbell from def leppard and their manager Marvin 5 14 17
I listen to this song in the morning and feel like I'm 18 again.
Rock on.
'Til we drop.
heard this song at work today and made my day better
Going to their concert in 2 weeks, they are amazing live! Wish I could've seen them perform in the 80s
I saw them in 1988 after Hysteria came out and again in 2004. They were awesome.
Kayla Therese me too I went last october and again last week ahaha!
Cara kaila se ami i def leppard di sicuro sei MERAVIGLIOSA. FROM ITALY
Saw them several times in the 80's. Those boys have always rocked! 😉
Meeee troop! When I Had THem Plastered All over My Bedroom walls in the 80's!💙🎵🎸
Def Leppard is the best rock band of the world.
Absofrikinlutely!!!💙🎵🎸
They are good but not close to being the greatest
They’re glam (hair) metal...
AC⚡DC
Name another hair metal band that came through what they did and conquered America. They are without doubt the greatest hard rock / metal band that climbed the mountain multiple times. Hard living, hard playing. Over came.
One of my favorites. I especially love the outro guitar.
RIP Steve Clark Thank you (1980 - 1991)
Haven't heard this for a while, I recalled how fuckin amazing this song is
Def leppard do the best intro to songs ever! 🤟
I love 80's...but, 4 some reason, always get led HERE...Oh My, Def's my Fav of all times!
Gods of War kicks ass

This song remains my top 5 of def Leppard ever... Legendary 🔥🔥🔥🔥 Rock for life!!!!
My 2nd concert was them and Europe at Irvine Meadows Amphitheatre in 88.

And yes, when they open up, its just like Sugar video, the curtain suddenly drops and there they are. My buddy threw up immediatley and i got stuck in a folding chair.

It was my 1st concert, weedsport, NY with Europe Ripping best concert.
This is the first time that I saw this video. It's like watching an old video of Def Leppard in 2018 and it brings back nostalgia.
Just realized this was published on my Birthday, 2007. I feel so grateful, to have seen Steve Clark, with Def Leppard, back in my younger years. This video is great!
Great touch of editing for one of the famous B-side songs of the greatest Def Leppard album of all time -- HYSTERIA
Pyromania and hysteria were two of def leppards best albums 👌
Released on this day(August 3) in 1987, "Hysteria". "Gods Of War" is my favorite song from this album. Cheers!
takes me back. first album I ever brought was Hysteria! I was blown away with them using samples. I'd not really seen that in Rock music much at that point. Ahead of their time with that one id say.
HELL YEAH LOVE IT!!FROM VIRGINIA LUV SUM LEPPARD!STILL STUCK IN THE 80'S THE BEST MUSIC EVER AND ALWAYS WILL BE 4EVER AND EVER!!
Same here lol. Can't seem to escape the 80s n early 90s. I live and breathe it still. 👍

Joe does have the sexiest voice ever
Absolutely love this song!
Absolutely love this song. Epic. Stirs so many good memories.
Amazing Song for Ever. Band 1 one.
The genius who 'was' Leppard left the world and generations this iconic song. Strip it back and look at how intricately created it is, the melodies, harmonies, chord construction, riffing, bends, hooks. Steven Maynard 'The Riffmaster' Clark had it all. There are so many other songs that are imo in this GOW league. TLFL, Billy, Foolin, Photograph, Rock Rock for example, and the early tracks that he created. On stage strapped low, Kahler deftly working his LP's, this man was a genius. But, a sad, lonely tortured man who's Father even Ross Halfin who has taken THE most pictures of Steve even has said he will hold Steve's bastard Father responsible for the rest of his life. The way Steve created music was beyond special. Viv, as humble and brilliant as he is said it as fact, despite Elliot and Sav not agreeing "90pc of what we play Steve left us". Steve was NOT a shredder, but he could shred, play very very fast if he needed and did on songs, but he was for something else, 'feeling and emotion'. On stage strapped low, darting around, who've you seen 360 a 18 string Razor with such grace? The good, or stunningly gifted do die young so much. But for all his demons, his brother Collen and Steve enjoyed so many memories. I recommend all buy Collins book 'Adrenalize'. There is not a single day that Phil does not think about his best mate. All we have are the wonderful, incalculable memories he left us. Joe calls "GOW" Steve's "Kashmir".
I so wish I could've seen them back in the 80's♥♡♥
Well done video. And one of the greatest songs from Def Leppard.
Just saw them last night in Las Vegas!!! They were Awesome (as always!!!)
Masterpiece💜🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Steve Clark At His Best!!!!💙🎵🎸
this tune rocks its awsome
AMAZING DEF LEPPARD. LOVE 80 MY BAND FAVORITE
Went to the, Hysteria concert in Stockholm, Sweden 1987. One of the best shows I´ve ever experienced!/ Def Leppard FC/Stockholm, Sweden. OK now tell me, where the F happened with all the years passing by?!
Love the visuals added to the song. Thank you DefLeppQueen91
One of my favourite DL 80s hit. Unfortunately, this song is relevant again in 2022 😔
“But I’m a REBEL! And I ain’t gonna fight no war, NO WAY!!” 🤘
Heyy!!, simply the best song. Come back Def Leppard.
Waiting almost 3 yrs for this album after Rick Allen's car accident--WORTH IT
MARVELLOUS TRACK 👍 👌 👏 HYSTERIA, MARVELLOUS ALBUM 👍 👌 👏
Def Leppard is not my favorite rock band of all time (although they're up there), but Hysteria truly is the greatest rock album ever recorded, IMHO. It truly stood the test of time the way many critically-acclaimed, far more popular, better-selling albums did not.
Whatever became of you- your music saved my life, brilliant
Their Sound In The 80's with Steve's Guitar riffs They became The unique sound of Rock!!!! And Still Rockin & Selling out Madison square Garden!!! I'm seeing Them EVERY TIME They come Anywhere Near Me! 💙🎵🎸🇬🇧
I love This album!
They are all my favorite my brother, I can't pick one!!!! Love man!!!!
love it my favorite band of all time
amazing song.....thanks uploader
Most underrated pop heavy rock, those rythmics and drum rollers umm, picture cassette era when audiophiles used to listen to these bands whole albums back to back for weeks and months and get to experiment, know and feel it's story: priceless.
Favorite Def Lep song!
outstanding!!!!
Great build up base and drums are great bang voice!! I don't want to be anywhere.
Mükemmel parçasın be!
Great album great song
From Hysteria Album this is the best song, it have a part of old def leppard (metal) lost on the time ahead...
Wow. Fantastic job with this video! I stand in awe. I wish I could do stuff like this.
good job on this!!!! love it
I believe this song was written for what’s transpiring today
Its another one of my favourite songs
Great! That makes it an even better song imo!
Love this song 80"s90"s,And centur 21...Great music!!!!!!
I love the video!great job!
rock never die!!!!
You did a VERY GREAT JOB making this video - you made most of clips go with the beat of the song and made it seem like Joe Elliott was singing the song!! You’re AWESOME! :D
I love the last 30 seconds, when Ronald Reagan tells it like it is.
Great song, but I didn't like the conglomerate of other song clips. I was hoping to see an actual video of this song.
Amazing song
I loved the video for When Love & Hate Collide!
That ending is so atmospheric.
great song
As the 80s (music and politics) strolled right along. This band tucked this gem into its arsenal of hits, camafloging it with music theory that only their ACE guitarist could deliver with just rhe right amount of pop for its fan base to understand its powerful meaning and message .. basically letting the world know not to mess with Rock in the free world as we knew it then and as we know it now. "They counted on America to be passive, th hey counted wrong"
