Fantastic job man, knowing the score well myself I could tell the work you put in to actually use a bunch of different soundtracks to make this. Nice work.
Thanks a lot!
What took me for surprise was how awesome she fights for a padawan
Sol musta trained her really well
She does fight good but you can tell she is a padawan. Careless
Kenobi did as well :)
That's the problem
Her "awesomeness" is what got her killed lol not so awesome
Music is everything in Star Wars.
that's why im not sold with the ep5 saber fight. no SW epic vibe.
Good story telling is more important
@@koyapol You are unwilling
@@carlosmirandajr508 and you are weird
Music is solid 50% of anything that has music in it.
This edit is proof of two things. That music is extremely important to a scene, and that John Williams' music is one of the most influential things that made Star Wars movies so good
Different scenes, the same outcome, the one with the green lightsaber will die.
luke and yoda🤔
Qui gon and jecki
And Sol shouted 'no' when Qimir killed Jecki, just like Obi-wan did when Darth Maul killed Qui Gon
Luke has Enter the chat
Bro, this wasn't even like a murder. She was executed 💀😭
Prison shanking
Three stabs, he didn’t have to go overkill on Jecki like that
@@GunnarTobus nah he just saw the rest of Disney lightsaber stabbings and didn't wanna risk it
@@theemonemo2826 LOL so true
@@theemonemo2826They saw all the complaints and took them to heart and lungs.
Dafne Keene and Manny Jacinto really killed it, they carried this ep for me.
Lee Jung Jae and Charlie Barnett too. The four of them really stepped it up this time and I was more than shocked. This was the best episode they’ve had so far
Oh yea.. those 2 were on another level
Agreed. It's such a shame Dafne's character went out so early in the series, I would've loved to see her fight some more.
If Jeki stepped off when qimir left her alone she d be alive
@@wallyspencer3253 Yeah, but she wasn't going to do that. She was an eager, young and overconfident Padawan caught in a moment. It was Sol's fault - he should've stopped her, or better yet, shouldn't have brought her on the mission in the first place.
Manny Jacinto is by far the best duelist/swordsman we’ve seen since the Prequels.
It’s nice to see someone fighting in a quick, legitimately intimidating fashion, as opposed to kinda just…slapping each other’s lightsabers together slowly, and calling that a duel.
You're right that the fight is amazing, but as a character, Qimir being driven back by Jecki shows that he was never trying to win the battle with a lightsaber. Even putting aside the theme of "killing the dream," he relied on strategic/tactical elements like his entrance, the massive Force Push that scattered the Jedi, mind tricks both Force-driven and not, as well as his cortosis to block the lightsabers and, as it turns out, the Jedi's own attempts at mental warfare.
I agree with your overall point, I'm just trying to qualify it a little.
A big part is the change in technology used for the sabers. OT blades were brittle, Prequels used steel rods. The ST were basically neopixle blades. The shows are starting to finally use more durable blades which is letting them be more aggressive.
@@ElijahNMitchell Wdym "The ST" ?

I really liked Jecki. And honestly, restoring it with this music just gives her send off more impact and I wasn’t ready for this but I am eternally grateful
Never thought Player 456 and X-23 fighting Jason Mendoza would be so great and yet here we are.
She gave into anger with that scream and paid the piece
Obi-Wan did the same thing and lived.

There won’t be Luke
It really doesn’t feel like Star Wars without John Williams’ music man. This edit definitely proves it right. This was great!
100%
I dont know. Duel of the fates is glorious but imo it really doesnt suit this scene. Totally different vibes.
star wars biggest mistake was giving us battle of the heroes and duel of the fates as backing music to lightsaber fights, because kinda generic action star wars music just doesnt hit right. like ngl the music ups the intensity of the duel
Nah, it can feels like Star Wars without his motifs, the Han Solo movie scored by him and John Powell, a lot of Vision episodes, and the work of Kevin Kiner in Clone Wars, Rebels, and Bad Batch, is a example of that.
They just keep re using johns music instead of making shit scores that your never gonna even remember again cause the shows are unbearable to watch
No matter how I felt about the show’s story or runners, they absolutely nailed these fights.
You know, normally I go against "Duel of the Fates this, Duel of the Fates that", because inserting it into every scene there is loses it value, but here instead it's a perfect example of how much Star Wars is actually music. Very nice.
It’s like the duel of fates but this time around it’s the apprentice that gets stabbed.
but still, the one with green lightsaber also got stabbed
Which is even worse. A Jedi Master seeing their Padawan get killed must be devastating for them.
@@Hollowshape I'm sure they all laughed about it. Director: "Ok, now you run in there screaming and then stop suddenly and look like you just pooped your pants. Then fall down."
@@rajmathew6220 Even without eyebrows that was about 200 times more expressive than amandala stenberg.
Jecki's death, the brutal way her life came to an end... it shook me the first time I watched it. It still cuts deeply...
Cuts deeper than her stabs
Oh enough of the melodrama.
There’s no feeling like when you see your favorite Star Wars character go down like that when I saw my eternal reaction was “JACKI” “NOOOOOOO”
@@kimberlyobrien6053 Jecki*
I agree rip to Jecki and Yord.. gone too soon🫡😔
This score makes this entire fight sequence 10x more intense and impactful.
You could tell sol trained jecki hella good, their unarmed skills and how theyre in sync was on point!
Acolyte has its major issues regarding lore but you cant complain much about this fight.
There are no issues. Wait until the season ends.
Honestly dude, the lore concerns are overblown, the creators a huge EU fan who’s specially said she didn’t want to overwrite any canon with this story.
Everyone I know who’s read Darth Plagueis recently is already seeing how the events of this show are likely going to fit with what was established in the EU.
Plagueis spent decades researching other Sith Lords and groups of Force Users who could manipulate midichlorians, the witches fit into that category perfectly!
Especially seeing as the ultimate end point of all his research is him pulling in Palpatine and performing a ritual that combines their force abilities, just like the witches do in their rituals.
I could 100% buy that Plagueis (or Tenebrous before him) gains some knowledge of what the witches did and Plagueis ultimately uses that knowledge to help create his massive force domination ritual.
@@Flettwin The main issue with the show writing I don’t think anybody would care about the Lore if the writing was good The fight scene was decent. Just wish there is less moments where they would stand around and not swing on openings
Sol Defense, Jecki Offense. This why she was so aggressive and careless in the end
There really isn’t any major issues regarding lore as current canon stands
When a sith fights a Jedi with a blue lightsaber and a Jedi with a green lightsaber…the green one always dies
Luke don't die on ep VI.
In Knights of the Old Republic the different colors had symbolism to the overall character, Blue is the guardian first to fight and seeker of justice, green is the consular a neutral minded opponent that will seek reason before an altercation. Finally gold(or yellow) belongs to the sentinel, this person will use their outside knowledge as a boost to their practice as a jedi
@@George_Nagatawhat I’m saying is obi wan and qui gon vs darth maul.
@@George_Nagata There was no blue in that scene.. They referencing the Duel in episode 1
All of these Disney+ series needs more of John Williams OST
The thing I’ve found with the Disney+ series is the lack of iconic music. This makes what is already an ace scene into an epic one & really seems to quicken the pace of the fighting & tension. Awesome job 🎉
This actually makes the fights more Impactful.
Best lightsaber choreo I've seen in a while. Jecki would've grown into a powerful lightsaber wielder had she been given the chance
Beautiful! Excellent illustration of how music sets and elevates the scene, almost as a member of the cast in it's own right.
Wow this hit so right. Scene is instantly better. They don’t make sounds scores like this anymore. Powerful. 🔥
Even though the show wasn’t up to everyone’s standards, this is some of the best lightsaber duels I have seen since the prequel trilogy.
Really well edited! I really liked this scene, but this just shows you how much John Williams score elevates the fight scenes.
She fought with the soul of Ahsoka.
but she didn’t have plot armor 💀😂
@@dankcraft7386 lol. Ironically she was killed by the turn your saber off and on style which was forbidden. Ahsoka later uses this style on several occasions.
Maybe her soul learned from this one.
@@dankcraft7386😂I'm so tired of Ahsoka being in so much for a character that wasn't in a single film.
@FriendlyBatDoom you know Disney wont stop at anything to get their strong female protagonist. Would you rather have it be Ashoka? Or let them continue making Rey content
@@FriendlyBatDoom She is the best character in all of star wars my friend.
I didn't understand the first time I watched why her saber came back. I kept thinking Qimir was cutting through them like Anakin in EPSII. Now I know about cortosis and how it short circuits sabers temporarily. Took me out of the fight in the moment but now I appreciate it a lot more now and with this music it really gives me chills. Tbh only Ludwig from Mando and the composer for the Cal Kestis games have managed to capture that signature Williams score.
very true, though natalie holt did decent with kenobi, and giacchino with rogue one
@@blandon1581 Eh Obi-Wan felt highly generic. Her inquisitor theme was so bland and Vader’s felt like it belonged to a goofy 90s kids cartoon villain. The only good theme was the one made by Williams’ of course and even that wasn’t as strong.
I will give you props on Giacchino. Masterful composer so it’s no surprise there.
I only wish Hans Zimmer could do a Star Wars soundtrack.
Wow that is somehow insanely better with this music... Nice work!
Goes to show you how important the score is to a scene!! John Williams is an absolute genius!
When the music is about to come in at 1:55 - fucking fire AF sync up!!! Excellent work
Very well done, holy shit you completely changed the scene for me.
ppl complaining how jecki held on that fight but she's a prodigy just like osha was
So true, just by adding John's music really changes so much the vibe of the scene you are watching.
Really good man on the edit.
The only two theme that aren't John Williams related that like is Mando, SW Outlaws and maybe even Andor
FINALLY!! That's what I wanted to hear
The Force is STRONG with this one. Awesome rescore!
im sorry, but at 2:25 the music just hit SOOOO GOOD. Gave me phantom meance vibes!
Now that was the best fight scene since qui gon obi Wan and Darth maul
Reminded me of Qui Gon getting stabbed by Maul
Really good edit, you got the peaks and valleys in terms of the volume right for the dialogue so nothing is overpowered by the different music and got the right aspects of the OST to work with the phrases of the fight.
Thanks ! 🙏
Jason Mendoza really took a Molotov cocktail to everybody's acolyte ships.
Dang! This was WICKED! I haven’t yet watched the Acolyte yet and I don’t really care much for spoilers, so this video only heightened up the hype I’ve been hearing about from people! Well done! I have to agree as well; George Lucas music goes well even with the new Disney ver. of Star Wars! Whoo!
I did t think this scene could be better but the music made this 100x better.
Makes you realize that the soul aka the music is missing from Star Wars
nah, its missing a hell of a lot more than music.
@@marcmolina9708 yeah that is true but music would’ve lifted it up so much more.
Star Wars has always been corny, but the music has ALWAYS been impeccable, until Disney took the wheel.
For me it is the difference between fan-fic and the real deal.
Now not saying the writing is good, but it would’ve helped
What John Williams scores brought to Star Wars, Indiana Jones, Jaws, etc… cannot be overstated. He was vital.
Suddenly The Acolyte is Good. Williams is STAR WARS. Good job.
Its almost like, these new shows dont know how to use all the elements they have at their disposal. Music is EVERYTHING in Star Wars. This rescore made the entire fight more intense. Took it from an 8/10 fight to a 10 for me. This, and your rescore of Obi-Wan vs Vader are masterpieces.
Now that is what makes this fight more memorable
That makes the duel 100000x more intense.
I have no intention to watch the show. But the fight scenes seem really good and the classic music overlay is phenomenal.
A neat take on an amazing scene! delightful ^^
I dont know how you can have Star Wars without the actual music.
Absolutely incredible what a score can add to a scene
X-23 - not going to go out like an extra.
Brilliantly done! i got chills
Whoa. This is better than I remember! Holy holy!
Music is everything, and this edit work on the score made the fight scene 1000 times better. If Disney did the same effort as you, Acolyte would have been something great, but we instead got a bad show.
Now THIS is lightsaber combat 👏🏾 👏🏾 👏🏾
Jecki is that one player who decides to push the objective but gets no backup! 😅
Mind blowing, good work. Honestly would've liked this show more with music like this
This worked so well it gave me chills
Nicely done!
Interesting. It made me realize that Jecki was filling in for Qui-Gon Jinn in this 'version.'
Ngl, I thought the combat itself was better than the duel of the fates
Do you people have eyes? Bat swings at air anywhere but in the vicinity of your actual target is "combat" these days. No wonder we are being served shit instead of actual decent movies.
@@hedinsee6830 A. It’s subjective, B. It’s much better than everything else we have had recently (so maybe I am just used to bad and think it’s better than the duel of the fates, and C. I really enjoyed the fight (and how everybody died) and just seeing that ruthless slaughter shows the true power of the dark side
Not even close to duel of the fates, guess it's been a long time since you watched that because the fight choreography in Duel of the Fates is 10 times better than this.
@@muse_themagic No, shit in place of a fight choreography is not subjective, it's stone-cold factual. Bat swings are objective. Fighting with air instead of a person in front of you is objective. Doing everything but trying to hit someone with an actual weapon is your hand is objective. Standing behind your fucking enemy while he is fighting someone else and paying no attention to you and NOT DOING ANYTHING REPEATEDLY is objective.
You can enjoy whatever you want, *that* is subjective. It is, however, shit for anyone with eyes and the fact that this is apparently enough for people these days might just be the reason we are being served this "quality" of movies.
Sad.
@hedinsee6830 idk, I seem to remember Obi-Wan doing an awful lot of standing around, bouncing, and waiting to swing until it's convenient for Maul to block. 10/10 though cause you say so
But why????
Sol threw him off the ledge and....jus stood there, letting Jecki jump down and fight Qimir alone...
At least aid her with some Force technique!
Great edit 👍 Original scene from The Acolyte still very good ✌️ love them both
Thank you very much!
Proof yet again that despite all the stories, sets, visuals, and lightsabers, John Williams was 50% of what made Star Wars, Star Wars.
Manny is easily the best to use a saber since disney has taken over :) Dudes earned a spot in the Galaxy in my book.. This shows how much the score means in Star Wars.. don't be scared to use it just use it properly.
With this music, with original music is this fight more more perfect! Now I love it! Good work!
Awesome! The score fit perfectly. Good job!
beautiful edit!!
Thank you!!
Music makes all the difference. Thank you for this, @CineVore!!!
Jecki did her master proud. She was better than most of the Jedi that were there
thanks, now i can show this to people who ask if the acolyte is worth watching and tell them "just watch these 3.28s and you are good to go on with ur life"
0:52 Doesn't hit the same. This isn't pod racing.
Awesome edit! ❤
I’m completely convinced the music is the reason fight scenes are dope in Star Wars this fight was dope without music and now it’s even better with music
Wow c'est excellent. La scène était déjà très bonne, maintenant elle est rendue épique!
Merci beaucoup !
This is goosebump material
Thank you for the score makes this scene 10 times better unfortunately can’t fix the rest of the show
I've not seen the Acolyte yet, but without any context and this rescore, this fight is pretty awesome.
Music really made a difference. It’s a character within itself
A genuinely good moment from an otherwise badly underwhelming show.
This is incredible!!
That reveal was mind blowing
great job man made that scene ten times better!!!
I think the first half fits really well but I feel the grand Williams choir of DOTF only works if the fights take place on an awe inspiring, massive set that compliments the immense scale of the singing. In Phantom menace it almost sounds like the choir is there with qui gon/obi/maul and echoing through the gargantuan halls of the palace.
This just proves how important music is to Star Wars. I hate how the majority of Disney Star Wars (other than 7,8,9 obviously) has almost abandoned John Williams' themes. The music edit on this video makes this scene 100x better. I remember watching it and orginally feeling somewhat underwhelmed by the fight.
Can anyone agree with me on how much more The Acolyte feels like a good old classic starwars with just someone taking the time to edit in the classic music. It's like for the entire 3:29 seconds I completely forgot I was watching something made by a group of people who knew little to NOTHING about starwars, and felt like I was watching what we all expect to see from a "modern" film. I've watch fan made CGI short films that have NOTHING to do with the original movies for example and I still feel like I'm getting my "fix" and it was made by like let's say for the example, 5 friends. If 5 people can throw together something that can captivate the viewer as intensely as this simple rescore, imagine what we could have if the people making these shows actually cared about the show and not the money/game that comes with having the title "producer" next to your name on a piece of paper.
Sorry for falling into what feels like a small rant >~< that wasn't the plan when I started typing but the passion took over
Can you do the whole fight and post it as one?
Honestly, this score made it a lot better.
👏 Well done sir. You managed to turn a mediocre fight into an epic one!
That WAS pretty cool 😁
You matched all the key moments to the music perfectly 👌🤌
Thanks Valentina ❤️
That's what I feel is truly missing from these new shows. That classic John Williams score. I'm so used to all the reused themes over 40 years in gaming and television but some just hype you up like no other
That actually fit and got me more into it 🤘🤘🤘👍
Duel of the Fates indeed. Because if Jecki wins this, Osha goes with them, their loss means Osha went to potentially learn from Qimir. Fates dependent upon the outcome of the duel.
But because of the loss, Mae winds up going with Sol and Osha winds up being taken by Qimir. Whom may have been the teachers both truly needed. In the original Duel of the Fates, Anakin's best teacher was killed. In this one, their best teachers may have been whom they wound up with at the end.
Wow great edit! Love it
When she broke his helmet off, she was like, "Really? The weirdo from the shop? You ain't even really like that." 😂😂😂
I felt so sad to see Jecki go, she was probably one of most people’s favourites, why did they have to kill her?? 😢😢 and the way they killed her too…😢😢😢
Amazing!
