- One of Lassie's puppies was sold to a family that later abandoned the collie to a cruel caretaker. The dog escapes and returns to the Calverton area where it takes to killing the local farmers' livestock and being vicious to people. The Millers intervene hoping to rehabilitate the poor young dog with Lassie's help.
