    I'm fairly convinced youtube is hacked into our brains. I was at Harbor Freight earlier and noticed this height difference. Searched nothing regarding it. Then this video pops up on my suggestions this evening.

    nice, going to order the 2 inch lift for my 56 since the hutch is a tad to low and will ding my forehead leaning into it lol.

      Yes! I just got my hutch after 4 months. And I hit my head every time I try and use my laptop

    • @DemoDad101
      @DemoDad101  Před 5 měsíci

      I didn’t need the hutch but I saw one in the store and it seemed very low. A great solution HF should make…is a drop on stainless steel top. That would serve as a spacer!

    They look good, just FYI, in the description you have 123Fab, it should be 132Fab. According to his story on the website, 132 has a pretty big significance.

      That’s true. I’ll have to make a correction in the video when I get a time to do so.

    I lifted a 2 bank Snap on box years ago. I made something like those spacers. Looked goofy as hell.
    Used a long piece of 4” square tubing horizontal across the front and back. Was able to reach in thru the ends to bolt it up.
    Looked better from the front. And could use it to lift with a fork lift or pallet jack, if necessary.

      @DemoDad101  Před 6 měsíci

      These boxes have a decent lip over the wheel mount area. You hardly notice the spacers on the USGeneral Series 3 stuff.

    Just an hour ago i was like i was settin up my new blue box . Thinking i wish i had a lift kit for this box. I will buy your old blocks if you wanna sell em

    • @DemoDad101
      @DemoDad101  Před 6 měsíci

      The old spacers are 2.75”. They make the 42 or 27 1/4” taller than a stock 56 or 72.

    On your Air Tool comment I think air tools have a place and will always have a place. They are so much cheaper. Die Grinders and anything you run for a long time air is the way to go. Electric tools heat up too much vs air will stay cold. But for a DYI guy air tools can be almost pointless.

    Very helpful video. I wanted to verify the measurements. He said it needed to be 2.25. Im seeing 2 3/8, im curious if anyone else is getting the same. Im going 27"-56"

    I’m a tall guy, so even the 56” with the hutch is a little small for me to utilize the hutch at all, do they make these for the 56” as well or can he make them custom?

  • @PeterB.-sf6pu
    @PeterB.-sf6pu Před 6 měsíci +1

    Nice! i was thinking to myself why harbor freight made them a different height, why not have to ability to bolt multiple ones together?

    • @DemoDad101
      @DemoDad101  Před 6 měsíci +5

      It's a huge swing and miss. They could have so many cool connector products if they simply made the 42 and 27 the same height as the 72 and 56.

    • @SmithFarmTilton
      @SmithFarmTilton Před 6 měsíci

      @@DemoDad101 Agreed ! Also, Harbor Freight should make the top profile on the 27 top box match the profile of the 42, 56, 72 top box, hutch, etc.

  • @STLJonny

    Like the spacers but they are extremely proud ($$$( of them. Why not just add the 6" casters that HF sells for $14-20 (each) to the other box, so they match the 6" casters on the 56" box?

    • @DemoDad101
      @DemoDad101  Před 2 měsíci

      You can’t easily do that. The bolt pattern is different and then you have another set of wheels sitting around. I actually cover this in the video.

    • @STLJonny
      @STLJonny Před 2 měsíci

      @@DemoDad101 interesting. I’m actually on a Reddit group and was told it can be easily done and that the larger casters just swap over.

      @@DemoDad101 I have a 56 currently, and have a 27 coming real soon. Both are series 3 boxes. I guess if somehow it doesn’t work, I will be ordering spacers, but from all I’ve been told and have read, it’s as easy as putting the larger casters on the smaller box.

    • @STLJonny
      @STLJonny Před 2 měsíci

      @@DemoDad101 Called HF today, and ordered two casters (for the 56" box, which I will swap onto the 27" box that I bolt to the 56" box). Cost of the casters was $26.xx each.

  • @jdgarage85

    Quick question, why didn’t you just order replacement casters for the larger box and install them on the smaller box?

    • @DemoDad101
      @DemoDad101  Před 6 měsíci

      These spacers were easier to get and I don’t have to store a second set of casters in my shop. I actually addressed this very question at the end of the video.

  • @brianrogers8649

    I'm considering the larger casters. Are the 56" and 42" the same bolt pattern on the casters?

    • @DemoDad101
      @DemoDad101  Před 4 měsíci

      I don’t believe so. The 42 and 27 are the same though.

  • @wIzKid16100
    @wIzKid16100 Před 6 měsíci

    You could have order the 6in caster from the 56” and it would have match

    • @DemoDad101
      @DemoDad101  Před 6 měsíci

      Not sure if it would have matched. Also, I addressed this at the end of the video. It’s easier to just get the spacers and use the supplied casters because I don’t need to store or have an extra set of useless parts laying around. Cost would be similar, as would be the labor.
