such an artiste comes to a nation once in many centuries
yes it's the same recording that you have. but the quality (particularly of the vilambit part) is better as i recorded it directly from delhi radio and the reception was just incredible on that day . i also have another copy of it but don't know why it is not of the same quality ( poor reception probably). i still remember that morning...it was suddenly transformed into something other-worldly when i tuned in.
Such subtle pauses!such realm of sublime music... it's almost surreal. Ustadji is simply unmatched.

This was recorded originally by All India Radio Indore some time before 1960. The duration is of thirty minutes. It is also with AIR Jaipur-Ajmer. It is also being broadcast periodically.

this is not only incomplete but also edited - some portions chopped off in the vilambit section . the original rec is a 29min 30sec piece - and a rare gem even among all Ust Amir Khan recordings .
