      Lawn Care Business Success - thanks for the review.2nd year in PT lawn care I mow 16-20 properties per week. I have a 48” W/B mower, 30” push mower and a 21” push mower I would like to add the 32” Staris for the 2020 lawn care season I have no debt because I used all profits to pay off all equipment. In your opinion do you think it makes sense to get the 32” staris so I can be even more productive? I mow from 3-8pm weekdays

    • @LawnCareBusinessSuccess
      @LawnCareBusinessSuccess  Před 5 lety +1

      It depends on your lawns, but I’m thinking since your considering it that it will probably work. It’s definitely a lot faster and less fatigue then using the walk behind or even. 30” push mower especially if you can fit it on the trailer with the other mowers. The Staris is definitely a well built machine, no doubt about it. I actually think it is over built. It was designed for low maintenance and reliability with those hard stainless steel hydro lines and only 2 grease points etc. Thanks for watching.

    Been using a 21" and 30" mower for years and my employer just picked up one of these and It's helped save my body for a few more years of mowing. I was ready to quit its hard on the body push mowing 30 properties in one day.

      @LawnCareBusinessSuccess  Před 2 lety

      Yes it’s a great unit if you have the right conditions for it. Definitely saves your body. Thanks for watching.

    Great video, man! In my opinion, you were very fair in your assessment of the equipment.

    • @LawnCareBusinessSuccess
      @LawnCareBusinessSuccess  Před 5 lety

      I appreciate the feedback. I think it’s important to be honest and fair with reviews. Even if a company is giving you a product. Otherwise you will lose credibility with the audience. Also being aware of how your using the product like the example I gave of hill stability while using a bagger attachment and being new to stand on mowers. Too many people go and blast a product without thinking about if the way they are using it is contributing to the results or if they are going beyond a products limitations. Thanks for watching.

    Seems like that mower is a perfect fit for the properties you maintain. Btw, an aftermarket bagger a Grass Gobbler or Accelerator might be a better fit with the Staris as they don't sit low to the ground. Excellent video as always.

    • @LawnCareBusinessSuccess
      @LawnCareBusinessSuccess  Před 5 lety

      Yes it’s a perfect unit for those small properties. I generally prefer the factory bagger kit over the metal ones but in this case I agree, an accelerator might work better if it sits flush. Thanks for watching. 👍

    Great video. I’m considering getting this as 80% of the lawns I mow have this type of tight gate/walkway situation.
    I have a couple questions:
    1. What’s the lowest setting it can cut? 2”?
    2. Can the deck be raised to give it clearance when moving the mower? For instance if climbing a curb that doesn’t have a ramp?
    Thanks again!

    • @LawnCareBusinessSuccess
      @LawnCareBusinessSuccess  Před 2 lety +1

      The cutting height can be set from 1” - 4.5” in .25” increments. They do have a optional deck lift accessory that is basically like hooks on either side of the deck that allow you to manually lift and hook the deck in a raised position quickly without having to mess with the height adjustment pins to go up over a ramp. I have the optional kit but have not installed it yet. Thanks for watching.

    I demo a 36 staris, i love this mower only two things i would change. I would make the platform flip up and i would add a deck height adjuster.

    • @LawnCareBusinessSuccess
      @LawnCareBusinessSuccess  Před 5 lety

      That’s interesting because if you were to ask me if I had a wish list for this machine it would be those same two things. Thanks for watching.

      Lawn Care Business Success so basically a 32 inch vantage? Kinda weird how it seems like they went backwards on the staris

    • @LawnCareBusinessSuccess
      @LawnCareBusinessSuccess  Před 4 lety

      The old vantage had too big of a frame to ever offer a 32 model and it would not be cost effective to just make a whole new machine for one size. If you notice the Staris they make two size frames. A small one that they use in the 32, 36, 44. And a larger frame model for the 48, 52, 60. They also now added the single lever height adjustment option to the 36, and 44 for 2020. The 32 is still only 4 pin but maybe they will offer it as well in the future.

    Thanks for addressing the rutting. I love the idea of this mower but some of my yards can get fairly soft.
    Is there a 32" hydro steerable walk behind on the market?

    • @LawnCareBusinessSuccess
      @LawnCareBusinessSuccess  Před 3 lety

      I’m not sure. I know I’ve seen 32” walkbehinds not sure if they were hydro though. I think the 36 is actually the best size for most applications. Thanks for watching.

    How does the bagging do in thick and wet spring surge growth that we get in the lower mainland? Has it ever clogged or bogged down to the point where you have to clear the way? Does it leave clumps on the sidewalk or driveway when you're going to put the mower away on a wet day?

    • @LawnCareBusinessSuccess
      @LawnCareBusinessSuccess  Před 3 lety +1

      It has not bogged down in wet grass. It has plenty of power. The bagging works well as it’s basically just side discharging into the bag with the factory bagger. Wet grass clippings do collect under the deck. They do on every mower I’ve ever had including the Honda’s hrc216, the Exmark turf tracer, commercial 21, commercial 30, John Deere tractor, and even when I had a Walker MT23GHS. There is no escaping it here. Clumps will fall when you go over bumps which is normal and in the trailer as you drive. Otherwise it’s a great machine for getting into tight areas. I’ve gotten into areas and backyards with it that you would say there is no way you can get it in there. It’s so short and maneuverable. It’s shorter in length then a Honda hrc 216 when side by side. I actually have this unit for sale at the moment. Thanks for watching.

  • @lucasjackson3410

    I am going from a 30 inch ex mark push mower to this 32 ex mark stand on. How much time have you saved in doing yards? I can do a 5,000 square foot yard in about 22 min - mow, trimm, edge, & blow. Just wondering.

    • @LawnCareBusinessSuccess
      @LawnCareBusinessSuccess  Před 3 lety +1

      For me it’s difficult to say because of my trailer setup. My commercial 21 or 30 fit in the front side compartment of my trailer along with the blower and trimmer and I don’t need to strap them down in there, whereas the Staris has to go in the back open part of my trailer and requires to be strapped and secured. So if I’m returning from my trimming and open the front compartment to put the trimmer back I can just pull out the 30 and start mowing. If I need to use the Staris then I need to return the trimmer first, close that door then go to the back and open the ramps, undo the straps unload the machine and attach the bagger kit etc. So I don’t think it actually saves me time on my small lawns it more about saving fatigue for me. That’s just my setup though. If both mowers are side by side on the trailer then the Staris would be faster of course. Thanks for watching.

    I have the same set up, do you have problems with it picking up leaves? Mine gets full not even a quarter and it shoots the leaves to the front right. So I have to empty the bagger SO much.

    • @LawnCareBusinessSuccess
      @LawnCareBusinessSuccess  Před 3 lety

    Do you think it could hold a jungle jim trimmer holder?

    • @LawnCareBusinessSuccess
      @LawnCareBusinessSuccess  Před 4 lety

      It’s a possibility if it were the MTR model. If you look on their website they have a picture of it mounted on a turf tracer walk behind, then if you press the arrows to see other photos there is one of it mounted on a Johns Deere stand on with the lower portion mounted on the deck. It would have to be a similar installation because of the way the deck hood opens forward on the Staris. Thanks for watching.

    Why do lawnmowers rather have a 32 inch than a 52 and up inch?

    • @LawnCareBusinessSuccess
      @LawnCareBusinessSuccess  Před 2 lety

      Because not every lawn is huge with open access. Lots of city lots are smaller and have gates to get through. Right tool for the job. Thanks for watching.
