I’m an English fan, and I like the way baseballs treats prospects like we do in soccer. Occasionally kids will be good enough to play right now, like 16 year old Lamal playing and scoring for his country. But sometimes players don’t come good until early to mid 20s. I don’t know why, but I found that really interesting
You are absolutely right. I think some sports see prospects more as long term investments like soccer & baseball. Then sports like football want/need instant payoffs…just different business models/strategies I suppose. Great comment, I appreciate you watching!
Great video! I think it just goes to show how many people don’t quite get how different baseball prospects are from other sports. How many people you listed drafted in the first round might NEVER make a big league start let alone play for more than a couple of years? It’s a tough sport. Leiter will be fine and can’t wait to watch his career progress. As long as his head is in the right mental space he’ll develop fine. Regarding our offense slumping I really do think Josh Jung is the most important pieces. I can’t wait for him to come back. Thanks for the great content
It’s the casual bandwagon fans. They saw Carter take the league by storm late last season and think that’s how all rooks come out the gate. These same fans would want Langford optioned to the minors if he had not gotten injured. One thing I will say is I’d prefer he stay w/ the Rangers or RR for a prolonged period of time; enough w/ yo-yoing him back n forth unless you have a better option. If Boch isn’t willing to let him figure it out then leave him in AAA.
Just shows you how hard base ball really is… I definitely think he needs to work on the secondary pitches possibly a split finger fastball. I would like to see him mirror Scherzer and evoldi pitch selection. He can definitely be a closer for sure
I am a die hard Rangers fan and while I do not think it's over for Leiter Jr. watching the Rangers struggle against inferior opponents has not been fun. Also the defense has not been up to their standard so far this year. Josh Smith has done well in place of Jung and the pitching overall has been great despite the injuries. We play down to our competition and I'm sick of it. Seager has been average and could be losing his title of best shortstop to Gunnar Henderson. I really hope we make the playoffs with this roster and payroll and HOF manager, anything short of that is a big disappointment.
I still think he is very promising. He's gotta find feel for his secondary pitches and work on locating pitches. Doesn't matter how electric your fastball is if you can’t locate.
Yeah, it would have been nice if Leiter was called up and shut everyone down, but I still think he's got a lot of potential. Give him some time, he's been doing pretty well in Round Rock this year.
@@texasclubhouse Exactly. Not everyone is going to get called up and make an immediate impact, as much as we might like them to. But it is silly to give up on him this early. I have a good feeling that he's going to come around. Go Leiter and Rangers!
It’s just frustrating. That 6 spot killed us. And Leiter is young and it’s not really abt Leiter. I’m just frustrated in general. We are a WORLD SERIES CHAMPIONSHIP TEAM! Were better than this. Rodriguez and Hernandez impressed me. Yates didn’t. We’re hitting the ball. The offense is about to explode I can feel it. What I’m pissed abt is 2 things. Not signing Monty, snd not signing Bauer. Those two guys could have been the difference between being the best team and baseball and getting put in a hole so deep that I’m starting to worry abt not even being a wildcard team.
Thanks for watt and thanks for an absolutely spectacular comment! Love fans who have passionate informed opinions and you clearly do! Hope you subscribed and hope to see you here in the channel more! Excellent comment
Lorenzen has been just as good as Monty this year so far for a much cheaper price point. Would Monty be cool to have back? Absolutely. But I don't miss him. Bauer is secretly black balled by owners IMO.
He’d be great to have back bc 3 quarters of our staff is injured and he’s super consistent. He would be a rock for us and we would never see a 5 game losing streak with Monty in the rotation. Then you add in Bauer. Holy cow we would have like 6 cy young’s on the team are you kidding me???? And a cy young for LEAGUE MINIMUM?

Thanks so much! Great comment!
I mean, I'm new to baseball, but at the bottom third, he already had near 60 pitches made and various walks
Yeah not the way to be an effective pitcher at all!

Lots of options and opportunities for the young man still. I still think he will be a valuable piece for the Rangers
Now why would I unsubscribe? Go Rangers
;) Go Rangers

His breaking ball is the problem. Fastball is good and he can locate it but he can’t locate the slider.

I still think he could be very very good

Absolutely. I think he is still likely to have a nice career. Thanks for watching and commenting

The Chapman trade was a bust. Chapman did not make a difference in the WS

only a WS team bc of the playoff rule change advantage it gives low seeds... dont expect them to be that team who won but the team YOU ARE.
he will be fine. he just struggled in 1 gm despite being solid in AAA
I absolutely agree
Bro trevor is innocent stop lying on him
I most definitely have not lied about Trevor Bauer
Jackson Holliday, Jack Leiter........people expecting wayyy too much wayyyy too early. Jacks cousin Cam Leiter is the real prospect
