- GAMERA. This giant flying turtle has many names. The Invincible, friend to all children, guardian of the universe. First seen in the 1960’s, created by Daiei to act as a market rival to TOHO’s own Godzilla.
The last Gamera film released 16 years ago. So where has this kaiju been? And could he ever make an appearance in the MonsterVerse? Well some concept art for Godzilla King Of The Monsters certainly tells us this COULD happen!
So, lets take a look at whether Gamera would WORK in the MonsterVerse!

At this point Gamera needs a new movie like yesterday. Also yes he can work in the monsterverse. If people can accept a three headed space dragon that can shoot yellow lightning and a giant Godzilla robot then they can deal with a giant turtle that can fly and shoot fire
True but there is one problem.
They are Both made by the same studio except gamera.
Putting gamera in the monsterverse is pretty difficult since Both toho & daiei/kadokawa have some sort of rivalry towards eachother.
And kadokawa still hasn't released any sort of info about gamera.

King Ghidorah and Mechagodzilla were both somewhat recognizable to mainstream audiences since they are part of the Godzilla franchise, but I’m honestly not entirely sure if they’re gonna love gamera at first glance since there’s technically never been an American adaptation of Gamera. At the end of the day, it does depend on the execution, but it would need to be pulled off extremely well. It could turn out horrible but it could also turn out great.

Gamera would be perfect in the Monsterverse.If he's in this, his origins might originate in the Hollow Earth as a resident armored creature who goes to the surface and help Godzilla in anything possible.

he's a guardian of the hollow earth.
Gamera would be an ally to the G-Man. His unusual abilities, including his Mana(Earth Spirit Magic)Manipulation powers, would most likely prove an asset.
And this Godzilla wants to keep peace so can be a good ally with gamera having a same goal
I could see him being a sort of neutral party both the G-man and Kong have mutual respect for that keeps them from killing one another. Or that they both come to help in his hour of need against a greater foe due to said respect.
They'd be allies but they wouldn't be equals, Godzilla is way out of Gameras league.

It’s not that surprising to see Gamera, sneak his way into concept art. These movies are made and directed by people like us. Fans of the genre and lovers of Kaiju!
That's what makes the monsterverse so good- it's made by fans for fans. The other stuff today is made by non-fans for critics, and you can tell.
I loved the Heisei trilogy, and I could actually see him fitting into the Monsterverse quite easily. I could see him being a Titan that was allied to the Ancient civilization that used Titans to fight war. I see him having a biological make up similar to Rodan, feeding on Thermal energy. Of course if you bring in Gamera, you have to bring in Gyaos. I see them being similar to the Skull Crawlers, hypervores with a distaste for the sun. However, they are the natural Predator of humanity, specifically drawn to human settlements and cities to feed, being a much more active threat than any previous kaiju. Since They would technically be part of the natural order, feeding on Humans as their prey item, Godzilla would NOT intervene. Gamera however, being a direct ally of humanity, would.
Precisely, Gamera is ridiculously easy to add into the Monsterverse. Why didn't Gamera respond to Ghidorah's call? He a pretty solitary Alpha titan.
They could even explain his symbiotic relationship with humans as being similar to Mothra, and have there be descendants of his priestesses. Or they could bring in the psychic connection via the magatama for an interesting dynamic with a human character.
There's do much potential with Gamera.
@@ateliermink6340 Heisei Gamera was actually sealed so that he would sleep until Gyaos returned. He didn't awaken until a Human teen picked up one of the Magatama beads he was sealed with. It was kinda like the thing with Mothra and those tiny people. Gamera mostly does his own thing, but only mostly.
Oh yeah, in Gamera 3 Irys has a similar link with someone.
@@marhawkman303 Yeah, there's still debate among some Gamera fans about whether Ayana corrupted Irys with her through their magatama connection or if Irys was just a stronger version of a Gyaos. The Heisei Gamera movies were something special that really made Gamera his own thing.
I was mostly spitballing ideas for a hypothetical monsterverse version of him because that turtle is actually my second favorite Kaiju and I hate that nothing's being done with him officially. I'll write fanfic if I have to.

Gamera could have a symbiotic relationship with Kong like how Mothra has one with Godzilla. Both the Gamera species and the Kongs being close to humans brought them together in unity. I could see Gamera’s species being a big part in building the civilization the Kongs made, helping to lift columns and statues with their flight abilities. The Gamera species would also make good babysitters for young Kongs(like the tarantula species that has a frog look after its eggs).
Gamera would work in the monsterverse, especially if they reuse the concept of Gamera being from Atlantis from the Heisei Gamera trilogy. It would also be a bonus to finally have Godzilla and Gamera meet in films, and finally have them fight in a movie before choosing to join forces. Let's face it, those who know of Godzilla and Gamera, want to see them fight and possibly become allies, much like with Kong.
i mean when it comes down to franchises, Godzilla, King Kong and Gamera are very iconic Kaiju's even among other well known Kaiju's like King Ghidorah, Rodan and Mothra
I could see him and Kong being a great tag team. I think would be really cool since Godzilla already has tons of allies in other monsters but the Guardian and the 8th wonder I’ve never really had many allies.

I actually like the idea of some ancient civilization building Gamera better then the ancient beast origin of the others. It would fit in with all the prehistoric legends of Hollow Earth civilizations and what not.
I'd say gamera would work pretty well in the monsterverse, I'm sure toho and the other company I can't think of on settling an agreement that both monsters get some fame and the fan base would absolutely love it. I do hope he's added sooner or later but it would also give other kaiju a chance at appearing like baragon or megalon even, as they would be a sort of rival towards gameras life in the Hollow Earth. Love him and hope we see him soon
I recently watched the 90s Gamera trilogy and I absolutely loved it. I’d heard of Gamera before but this was the first I’d seen from the franchise. I remember thinking he’d be awesome to see get a Legendary adaptation; preferably a solo movie

Honestly I've always been baffled that Gamara was the only monster than Godzilla never fought, despite how well that would do overall. I'd personally love to see him not only return, but finally get to see who'd win

when it comes down to their strengths, Godzilla is larger, heavier and much stronger where as Gamera is smaller but more agile which is ironic cause he's a turtle

There are plenty of monsters Godzilla has not fought, but he might be one of the only big ones, I don't think Godzilla's ever actually fought Ultraman though

I think Gamera would work in the Monsterverse especially as a guardian Monster or a protector. But I think I would prefer his own Solo movie that isn't really connected to anything or even give him his own series that isn't even connected to the Monsterverse
Well it pretty much depends if toho & kadokawa daiei agree on it since they have a long time rivalry.
Also kadokawa has the rights to gamera since daiei entered bankruptcy (i think) but they Don't really announce anything about gamera.
This is what I think.
Gamera could be an alien kaiju that fell to Earth during the age of the Dinosaurs, properly causes their extinction, and laying dormant for centuries afterwards. Then when King Ghidorah called the titans to awake in Godzilla Kotm, Gamera could have been one of those kaijus to wake up. But he was strong and smart enough to resist Ghidorah and then found an entrance to the Hollow Earth. Where he reminds until either Kong discovers him, or he returns back up to the surface.
I'd love to see how well they'd make the whole massive turtle doing martial arts thing with the current cgi. I'd think there's a lot of potential for that
If they did bring Gamera into the MonsterVerse (which I sincerely hope they do), they have to bring in another Daiei Kaiju as well. Gamera will need his own rival alpha, just like Godzilla had Ghidorah as his rival alpha. And I think we all know who Gamera's rival alpha needs to be: GYAOS.
I once did my own little fanfiction if I had written Gamera in the Monsterverse.
If I wrote Gamera, I would have had him a prison guard in the Hollow Earth keeping watch over the most dangerous monsters. these monsters are all in hibernation and are locked up tight, however they dwarf monsters like Ghidora in both size and power. Gamera at full power couldn't make these monsters flinch. Gamera's job is to make sure these sleeping monsters are never awakened, so he spends his days patrolling, keeping other monsters out of restricted areas, and checking on each prisoner to make sure they are still asleep.
Then, Godzilla and Kong's battles cause a stir in the prison. they are making a lot of noise, and the prisons are beginning to toss and turn in their beds. now Gamera must go up to the surface to shut down their squabble before the prisoners wake up. if they wake up, Gamera will be turned into a ragdoll and the monsters will go up to the surface and wreak untold levels of havoc across the world... and possibly other worlds as many of these prisoners are not from Earth.
This might be my idea, but I still like it. it gives Gamera a big role of keeping the floodgates closed as well as introducing new and old monsters into the Monsterverse. but again, it's just my idea of what I would do if I were to write Gamera into this universe.
The Hollow Earth would be perfect to introduce Gamera if the kaiju ever joins the Monsterverse. However, they would have to change his ability set. The idea of a flying turtle with jet pack arms and legs really suspends disbelief. He's a turtle kaiju and that could create some interesting things with Godzilla for dominance of the ocean and sea. Like maybe Gamera titans rival to Godzilla for control of the ocean. Maybe the Godzilla species dominated the Gamera species for control of the ocean and Gameras fled to live on in the hollow earth's water territories.
In "Godzilla Dominion" there was an ancient drawing on the wall that resembled Gamera. Plus in the Pacific Rim 2 Uprising movie there was a scene that showed the other Kaiju that existed in the Pacific Rim universe. The Muto, Gyaos, and Gamera was on that list. Now I know that the Pacific Rim hasn't been confirmed to be in the same universe as the monsterverse Godzilla however the evidence shows that there might be a crossover. To see a modern-day Gamera square up with Godzilla could actually be a more successful film then 2021 Godzilla vs. Kong. Plus Gamera would be a formidable foe equal to challenge Godzilla's power.
I wouldn't consider a formidable foe but maybe a worthy ally he just seems like anguirus with better qualities in my opinion

Adding Gamera would be very interesting. Being a protector of Hollow Earth. He might at first view Kong as a threat til he sees the humans with him and stops his attack and leads them with Kong to a place where humans once lived and where a new Titan is introduced and a threat to both Gamera and Kong. They would team up together and fight this new threat which has blocked Gamera from reaching. Thought as this as a new movie.
Honestly they could make Gamera similar to his origin in the Heisei era, where an ancient civilization created him, but instead of doing so to protect the earth they did so to make him a "false god" that his ancient civilization worshipped instead of Godzilla. He's still hibernating somewhere as he too is outside the natural order, but given all of the calamity he's awoken again but isn't inherently malevolent like Ghidorah or Mechagodzilla, yet still clashes with Godzilla. A nerd can dream lol

I would really love to see Gamera make it into the Monsterverse this sounds like a great idea.
I think a cool way to introduce Gamera would be to incorporate his themes. Introduce him in the ancient times defending humanity, but as a child is about to be harmed, Gamera kicks it into high gear and goes nuts on the monster. Then afterwards, show Gamera making sure the child is alright - bringing in his friend to all children theme. Then flash forward to the future. Kong and Godzilla are now considered protectors of humanity with other titans like Mothra showing up to keep the others in line. But what happens next is the big one: in the area where the Oxygen bomb was used, a creature emerges. The audience is wowed as we see a tease of Destoroyah and incorporates a bit of the old Heisei era. Kong and Godzilla sense this new arrival and immediately make moves. Cut to an island nation like Indonesia, a child comes across a large stone and plays near it as Destoroyah appears and begins destroying the land. As Destoroyah goes to attack the child and his family, the kids screams awaken Gamera, who was the stone! Gamera, friend to all children, awakens at half power and attacks Destoroyah doing enough to drive him away
I feel Monsterverse is our one, ONE CHANCE to get The Big 3 of Kaiju Godzilla, Kong, & Gamera together on screen!
And who is the villain worthy of such a team-up, The Destoroyah of course!

Or Legion. canonically Legion was actually in the process of reproducing... and if Gamera hadn't killed it then and there it might have multiplied. Yeah, it's called Legion because there's hundreds of it's baby form running around. Only one of them managed to become the adult form, but imagine if there was more than one adult Legion? OUCH!

Ghidorah is basically Steppenwolf to Godzilla and Kong so it makes sense Destroyah is Darkseid, who knows maybe we would see Godzilla, Kong, Mothra, Rodan and Gamera in a Destroy all Monsters Kaiju brawl with Destroyah, Gigan and Legion with their army of Gyaos in a weird way this reminds of Justice League.

I’ve had an idea on how they could bring Gamera into this world:
First it spawns from Scylla being in this world, as confirmed on the newspapers Scylla is the same Scylla from Greek mythology, which would mean Gods can exist in the Monsterverse. And if there are gods like Zeus, and especially Poseidon. Then there is Atlantis. Not to mention it could continue the theme, of ancient civilizations worshiping titans. Except this time with Atlanteans were made from gods or at least descents. They tried to become gods by creating Titans, and tried to control them. Gamera was their Savior, but they kept trying more and more until. Atlantis was destroyed. All similar to the older Gamera films.
Plus not to mention having Gamera in these movies means we have a another reptilian Kaiju that can have the feeings of a mammalian titan.
This would work, just needs decent writers. Good writing can make fantasy films fantastic 💯

In the MU, Scylla being the same Scylla from Greek Mythology doesn’t mean gods are real. It means that the same thing as it does in reality. The old civilization saw something they didn’t understand and attributed it to something divine.
You ever look up at the bright thing in the sky during the day. The Sun is the same Sun that Apollo rode everyday along with Artemis and the Moon. Are the Greek gods real?

If Gamera was in the Monsterverse here's my origins: Gamera is a space monster juvenile that escapes from a race of Ghidorahs and crash landing on earth and on Skull Island then it's energy and radiation gave birth to a race of Magma Turtles on Skull Island and make allies to Kong and Gamera ventures off to the Hollow Earth to absorbs it's energy and eat rock crabs
If he's presented well, like he was in the heisei Trilogy or even the 2016 short, he would work very well in the monsterverse.

Gamera protecting the last of the kongd works so well seeing as he's a protector to all children he could take care of some smaller/baby kongs you could even add some king cave art of Gamera protecting the kongs from a Godzilla bc I feel it's just right to make gamera be an alpha titan or like kong in the sense he can defect the alphas call I would love to see gamera take on a sort of snapping turtle living island look can you imagine him taking a bite out of a kaiju and just burning it to a crisp

If we do get a movie where Kong, Gamera, and Godzilla all appear together, that would be a dream come true.
Theoretically, *GAMERA* would be less expensive to acquire the film rights to than *Godzilla* or the other TOHO characters. Therefore, I think *Legendary Pictures* should go for it & acquire *GAMERA.* I'd love to see him join the MONSTER-VERSE. However, I wonder what kind of origin story they'd give him since most likely everything will take place in the hollow earth from here on out.
No since in his universe, Gamera was made by an ancient civilisation to protect them from other failed creations of their. This would fit almost perfectly into the monsterverse as a succession to mecha G : a way to show how powerfull and advanced the ancients were and giving more a teaser of how they got exterminated, showing that while they where advanced enougth to reach level WE aven't achieved, something destroyed them... Maybe the spacegodzilla? Alien kaijus , maybe an alien Race that worship him or maybe all of that. Possibilities are endless

I think Gamera would be a great addition to the monsterverse. He could be introduced in the monsterverse as a mutated tortoise or turtle that originated from the hollow earth and are natural born guardians/protectors as you mentioned in the video.. I think he deserves to be an alpha class kaiju or at least a kaiju that can resist an Alpha Call and has the power to stand against the Gman or other potentially powerful kaijus that would maybe come later down the line.
Hopefully they don’t make yet another lazy “Gamera was the ancient rival to Godzilla” excuse for Godzilla and Gamera to fight in a potential film, since the MV has repeated that cliche in 3 films.
Just let them say "gamera is a foe that godzilla has never faced" instead of the whole ancient rivalry thing.

There was a turtle in Zilla animated series which can be an evil toned down version of gamera.
I would love to see Gamera reappear. the 2015 design looked epic and I will remain sad that it never became a full film.

If you ask me, Gamera would be pretty difficult to pull off in not just the MonsterVerse, but in an American adaptation in general, which is why we haven’t gotten an American Gamera movie yet. Gamera could theoretically work in the MV, but so much of it has to be altered or changed in to fit with the rules of the MonsterVerse (for example his supernatural abilities and flight would have to be altered drastically or not be featured, which would only divide long time Gamera fans. His fire breathing could remain though, and I’m not sure if his friend of all children thing could work in an American film, but who knows). Even though, I’ve never been a huge Gamera fan, I would like to see a Godzilla vs Gamera movie, it would no doubt be something special to see since there’s never been a crossover between Toho’s Godzilla and Daiei’s Gamera, and it probably won’t happen since both studios don’t like each other.
If a godzilla vs gamera movie happens, imagine the amount of fan rage, regardless of the winner.

People always say that they would never have Godzilla and Gamera fight because neither studio wants their monster to lose, but the solution is so simple. They could have Gamera be introduced, Godzilla sees him as a threat. They fight, but before one can kill each other, another monster like Mothra or Kong breaks up the fight. And then Gamera can be added as one of Earth's defender's in the Monster Verse.
Daiei would never let Gamera into the Monsterverse unless he was truly Godzilla's equal. It would make no sense for them to let their monster be outdone by their competitor. I know that with his powers and abilities, Gamera could stand toe-to-toe with Godzilla, so if he is introduced, there better be an epic fight.

Idk, man, i know usually Gamera is not at all as strong as Godzilla, but come on, man, Gamera is still way tougher than Kong, so, he would give Godzilla a good fight!
My thought for Son of Kong is after GvK Godzilla knows the Kong speeches is still alive so he goes to the hollow earth looking for them to try to get them to join his kingdom not killing them because Kong saved his life the kings having genetic memory try to capture Godzilla like their ansesters did Godzilla breaks free and ends up killing them in self defense as Kong who followed Godzilla watches when Godzilla leaves he goes to the ruins in search of any survivors and finds a baby Kong

It was said in Gamera:Guardian of the Universe that both Gamera and Gyaos were created by the same ancient civilization that created Gyaos first but was nearly destroyed by it so they created Gamera to fight it and I can't remember which one of the Heisei Era of Gamera films but I remember one scene where the J.S.D.F. had discovered countless dead Gameras at the bottom of the ocean so the current Gamera sadly might be the last of his kind.
If Gamera was in the monsterverse then we would have this trinity of Godzilla Kong and Gamera would make up the kaiju trinity of this universe.
One of the main reasons why Gamera should be in the Monsterverse. Almost every other cinematic universe has a trinity or trio of iconic characters that make up a franchise or shared universe.

Gamera would’ve been created by Atlantians for protection against the Gyaos, but it’s too late and his egg was hidden in suspended animation until it’s discovered by monarch scientists. He then hatches and escapes monarch and eventually befriends a human boy and marks him as his partner. The boy gains the ability to communicate with him through thought, and Gamera saves the boy from his abusive family. They then work together to aide homeless orphans and form their own small village. Eventually monarch finds them and has them lock up. The Gyaos eventually escaped from Hollow Earth (during Ghidorahs reign of terror) and monarch lets Gamera go and defeats them along with the bigger queen. And in the sequel, Gamera is hunted by Godzilla who sees him as a threat like Ghidorah and Mechagodzilla since he’s an artificially made titan that’s not part of the natural order. Gamera moves to the hollow earth and befriends Kong and several of the children Gamera rescued decided to live in Tokyo to live normal lives. Gamera dislikes living in hollow earth due to the gravity’s affecting his flight. Godzilla would then attack Tokyo since he senses Gameras presence within the kids. Gamera then arrives to save them and fight Godzilla once and for all.
The concept of an ancient race creating Gamera actually derived from the first film. Watch the first beginning of the subbed version. You'll see them talk about an ancient race, and the Elder referring to "The devil's envoy ' GAMERA!!'".

Personally I would have his origins be that he was created by an ancient civilization to protect them from the other titans/act as a deterrent, but he went into some sort of stasis, before the civilization collapsed and/or as a result/cause of the collapse, until being woken up in the modern day. That said, I would keep his abilities the same as the original, insofar as his abilities to "consume" the types of things he is capable of in the original series. I mean, if he's going to be created to protect that civilization from other titans, he would have to have a way of dealing with Godzillas atomic breath. As for his relationship with Kong and/or Godzilla, I can see him and Kong being natural allies, once they understand their common goals, while I can see Godzilla respecting him for his (Gamera) ability to be energized by his atomic breath, and not mess with him as a result, but at the same time not liking/detesting Gamera, for Gameras' man-made origins.
It's pretty much Time for the Gamera Franchise to really make a big Comeback, it's been on Hibernation for very long Time since the 2000's.

Not gonna lie, I doubt gamera is gonna even appear in a monsterverse film because legendary doesn't even have the rights to him, also, I heard that toho and the company that owns gamera, hate each other. ( I don't know if it's true or not)
Edit: If he does appear in the monsterverse though, I would let him be a ally to godzilla.

A similar thing was said about the 2014 Godzilla, and that the creators would need to remove his atomic breath to make him more realistic. So I don’t think it would be outlandish to assume they Would bring back the propulsion jets in a reveal similar to the first atomic breath scene in 2014.

I mean, I think the monsterverse stopped striving to be realistic after Kotm. I mean, ghidorah has telepathy and can create storms, so a turtle that flies shouldn't be too outlandish.

@@zaidgoraya9897 Ghidorah having telepathy isn't too fantastical. Some species of animals can speak through a mental link, and since the telepathy is only really used for communicating with each head, yeah.
But that doesn't mean Gamera flying is impossible though, if something like Ghidorah exists and is an alien, a flying turtle seems relatively normal.
All I can say is that he'd have to be dark and gritty like the rest of the Monsterverse. Gamera got much sillier than Godzilla did.
Even today, the modern Japanese monster movies still feature guys in suits, and that trope is absolutely over with.
If kept within the style of the American films yes, Gamera would be a wonderful addition to the films. Who doesn't love a good crossover film these days!

I can see Gamera being an ally and friend Anguirus had in previous Godzilla films. Seeing as Godzilla is ruling on top of Earth and Kong down below; Godzilla could have him as a friend to assist in keeping other titans in check. Most likely we will see him in a tie-in novel though. But if he does appear I will say Rodan will be along side him against a much bigger threat Godzilla needs assistance with. If you look at these movies as a whole; Godzilla has a story arc and KvG had Godzilla and Kong learn sometimes you need help. Just my theories.

First off, I wouldn’t introduce his flight ability right away. I would make it as an unnatural ability he gained when terrorists altered parts of his DNA so they can control him.
Secondly, Gamera, in Godzilla’s eyes, would just be another monster he feels he would need to dominate and rule over. Another unruly titan that needed to be kept in line and reminded who is the real alpha much like what Godzilla did with Kong.
Third, Gyaos would be a result of what happens when terrorists try to splice multiple Titan DNA together and they go berserk. Gamera would find them as abominations and makes it his mission to hunt down them and the people responsible for creating the Gyaos.
Thanks, DangerVille for that video. I've been hoping you guys make a video about Gamera, and he really needs to be added into the MonsterVerse in the next installment. For my predictions, Gamera would be similar to Godzilla and Kong. All three could be alpha titans keeping the natural order in balance, and his kind was killed off by Gyaos, whereas Godzilla and Kong's relatives were wiped out by both MUTOS and Skullcrawlers. If appeared in his own film in the MonsterVerse then we'll see Godzilla vs. Gamera and that would end in a similar faction to Godzilla vs. Kong. Gamera needs more respect and I'm happy you made that video happen.
I would enjoy Gamera in the Monsterverse but I also think Gamera having complete freedom in his own reboot or Trilogy could be great.
A Japanese reboot with Shin Godzilla/Shin Ultraman level production value....an epic CGI anime film done like Gantz:O....a cool 2D anime film done in the vein of Gridman or something....or finally having a proper Hollywood debut in a big US production. I think any of those 4 options could be excellent.
If it's in the US, get someone like Genndy Tartakovsky or Guillermo Del Toro on it.

Here is what I would do:
Firstly, have Monarch know nothing about Gamera. Slowly imply a couple of things by using his behavior along with how Godzilla reacts to him.
Specifically, Gamera is depicted as more of a creature who genuinely seems fearful for the state of the world at large for some reason, and actively goes out of his way to outright quell Titan activity anywhere. Godzilla, however, seems to see Gamera as a nobody. That is, until Gamera does something that enrages him, similar to Kong.
To be exact, it’s approach the area where Mothra’s egg is. Even if he didn’t mean to, it pisses the big guy off and it results in a fight. Unlike Kong however, Gamera is no underdog, which is shown when he physically matches Godzilla in a bit of a grapple and even leaves multiple visible injuries on him, some of which are severe burn marks. The highlight however is when Godzilla uses his breath to destabilize the ground beneath Gamera so he falls off a cliff in the place they’re fighting. When Godzilla thinks he’s won as he looks at Gamera far below him, he turns and walks away. Only to hear a VERY familiar noise, accompanied by a bright light.

LONG OVER FREAKIN' DUE!! I know there's issues between Toho and Daiei, that held up these two kaiju from sharing the same screen at the same time. Toho does actually own a small portion of Gamera, yet not enough to ever use him. And Legendary plain has no rights to him at all. But now is a perfect opportunity to FINALLY make our dream a REALITY!!👍👍

an idea i like is that Gamera has a similar original like the Heisei series. a monster created in Atlantis as a defender from other Ttians. but one day Gamera encountered a Titan ( use you imagination ) that was so powerful that their battle caused the great city to sink into the ocean. and after years of slumber Gamera awakens again, due to the Titans rising to the surface, thus causing Gamera to want to protect Earth from them, by ether chasing them back to Hollow Earth, or by taking them out once and for all.
just an idea i had. really do hope Gamera gets something soon.
Seeing gamera, godzilla and Kong on screen would be so surreal
I can see an interesting way gamera could be introduced to the monsterverse, his first cameo would be in his own movie (taking place either before or after the first or second godzilla film), monarch discovers hollow earth and some people would venture through it and encounter new creatures and maybe even reoccurring creatures/titans, a new antagonist, and of course the great turtle himself. his second film would be the crossover between godzilla, kong and gamera, who would find and discover an old civilisation that used to live and worship him, and they would encounter an old foe who would return from the events of 2014, an unknown species would bring back the femuto as the all new gigan, this new antagonist would rampage everywhere and end up meeting kong, gamera, and his/her old enemies of godzilla and mankind, this battle would end, I’d imagine with gigan finally deciding to abandon the old times and redeem himself/herself, and the film ending off with peter Gabriel’s “down to earth” as the song that would be the song of gamera.
Yaaaaasssssss it sucks how the 2016 movie was canceled, now al we have is the trailer to geek out over.
Honestly, Gamera would fit in neatly. They already set the precedent for underwater civilizations with KOTM, so Monarch finding Gamera and other monsters from his universe would be easy to set up. In fact, make Gamera and the others the product of humanity's first attempt to defend themselves from Godzilla, Kong and the rest.
love the hesei gamera series as it definitely has my favorite lore & story in a kaiju movie with how much it changed the friend of all children to a ancient guardian of the universe that stood right up with godzilla(and honestly like more than the big g in that era,though i love hesei godzilla too.) and would love a continuation.
gamera would definitely work in the monsterverse as he should keep his hesei origin(could have mana be what the hollow earth energy is called being a power source for him.:3) being a titan species modified by the ancient humans that helped them grow after the war with godzilla and kong that maybe convinced the ancient godzilla's to compromise and if a movie happened would love kong(would find it interesting if he'd defend godzilla,help gamera or be on neither side.) & mothra(could have her priestess be the owner of the magatama used in hesei gamera to connect with him revealing he & mothra's species were originally allies.) getting involved with them taking on the gyaos or another gamera villain reimagined.

Did you guys know that in 1970 at expo70 in Japan thete was a live action play that ran for about a week where Godzilla and Gamera fought . They actually used the real Godzilla and Gamera theatrcal suits.There is some photos and even some photage floating around out there. Maybe you guys can find some and di a video about that . A fight that is LONG OVERDUE given their unique rivalry between the two.
Gamera has untapped potential. For long time kaiju fans he's tied to kids shows and is regarded as a childish monster. Gonna be hard to change that but the last movie was pretty good.
Before I say this I must admit I know nothing about Gamera but I think this cool origin for him. We could his title “Guardian of the universe” for some ideas. We know their are Ghidorahs out in space and some may have invaded Gamera’s planet. The Gameras and the ghidorahs would have a war throughout the universe eventually making their way to the planet Venus, King Ghidorah’s Toho home planet, where it would just be him and Ghidorah. In their battle Gamera could be knocked out into space and crash into Earth. Although he wouldn’t die he would be knocked into a deep sleep within the hollow Earth. Later he could be discovered by Kong and Gamera would discover that due to his time in the Hollow Earth he had gained new powers such as his fire breath and eventually flight. Idk, I just came up with but I think this would be cool
Very interesting supposition. And it is possible. But it must be pointed out that Toho had a giant turtle monster called Kamebas. First featured in the film Yog, The Space Amoeba, and shown again in Godzilla, Mothra, King Ghidorah: All Monsters Attack as a huge carcass that was killed by Godzilla. Kamebas, maybe. Gamera, I don’t think so. But it is not impossible for Gamera to have a significant role in the Monsterverse. But I believe that it probably won’t work because of Mothra. Gamera would would only be a fourth wheel in Hollow Earth. I am only thinking back to the Toho kaiju. But, Freddy Krueger and Jason Voorhees, two horror icons, have fought in the film Freddy Vs. Jason and they were from two different film companies.
The giant turtle in the image may have been coincidental, another life form in the Hollow Earth.
I remember when I was less than ten years old and I went to see my grandparents in Japan that there was Gamera who was on TV, you were Gamera against Guiron because I remember Guiron very well , I liked it since I was rather young.
It will be great if Gamera can appear in the next Monsterverse movie along with Godzilla and Kong.
