I tried to explain what my plans are for my Germany trip. Sometimes it comes different than you think I talk about my travel plans the rest in the video you see me walking around Koenigallee and Duesseldorf city I went shopping and enjoyed a meal at the fish restaurant - Zábava
Wheelchair is the answer. I took my mom to Disneyland. I got her a wheelchair we made great memories that day. I lost her in 2012. You’re there now, take advantage of every moment with your mother
Electric wheelchair, she probably won't be able to move herself far, her arms will get tired, and he can't film and push her.

It is not that easy to convince someone who can still walk and is active, to get into a wheelchair... 😉
That or rent a scooter they are much better as your independent that way. Pushing a wheelchair around is not an easy feat as you get older. Also frees up the other person to do as you want
I think a wheelchair is a great idea for GIV mom she can walk then if she gets tired Mike can push her so she outside and with her son which I know she enjoys

Re:: Flying with oxygen, I don't know what the rules are in Germany, but the FAA forbids airline travel with liquid oxygen or an oxygen tank. What your mom needs is a device called an oxygen concentrator. They come in battery-operated portable sizes (about the size of a large purse). ETA: I'm a little disappointed to hear that Gogo is off on a pilgrimage; I was hoping to see him in your videos. But I'm sure the trip is very fulfilling for him.

@@germaninvenicegoogled it, those things are expensive. On the minimum setting a dual battery can last 13 hours. I bet youre mom needs more than that. Hope you find something!
I try to take my mother everywhere I go in a wheelchair. She is really happy about that, no struggling to keep up, no exhausted legs.
I think you’re idea of just winging it each day is good. No real plans. Just see how you feel each morning then decide. I personally do that a lot when I travel. It’s spontaneous. Fun. Adventurous.
Yes, try to be with your mom as much as possible. She is getting older. Plus you living in LA. You are a good son. To go and see her. Visit her. 👍
You might consider renting mom a ECV, (electric conveyance vehicle ) I spend a fair amount of my retirement time with my brothers and sisters at the Veterans Administration and Village. Many are immobile. I took one brother not long for this world to the Disney Parks a couple of weeks ago. He has a manual wheelchair so for the trip we rented a ECV. He had never been to any park let alone a Disney Park. We had a fantastic time and Disney, after hearing his story, has arranged accommodations, airfare, and park admissions for the WDW Resort in Orlando. I share this to affirm Disney has not entirely lost sight of the magic. My point is simply, rent or buy an ECV and travel with your mom brother, there's nothing I would not pay or do to spend time with mine. Whatever you decide to do, enjoy this time with her. Nameste
My daughter is going to college in Regensburg for four months. I like watching these videos, they show me things to talk to her about and sometimes make me feel like I’m over there too. Keep them coming!

I do believe you can hire them for a day from certain outlets,

Whatever you do, it’s always a fun time. It’s nice to travel and always interesting to see the sites, but I’m always game to just hang out with you locally (wherever local is for you, lol) - go shopping, cook with mom, do silly stuff with your friends, etc.
Are there any guitar shops in your area? I remember you showed us a bar with guitar memorabilia on your last trip, but I’d love to have a look at a some small local mom and pop guitar/music stores, as well as a big mega store for instruments and gear like Thomann.
I am sure you have lots of musicians who follow your channel, and it could bring new viewers who are interested in seeing music shops abroad. I can also picture you having a ton of fun in a music store trying out instruments and other gear, making jokes, etc., especially if you go with your mom and/or friends.
I’d also love to find out if there are local German guitar brands and guitar gear brands (like amplifiers, pedals, etc.) that the shops keep in stock - and if they’re not too far, maybe you can even arrange to get a tour of some of those factories at a later date. Even if people don’t play guitar, everyone loves watching how things get made at factories and by small builders. Just a suggestion for content since you seem to be trying not to go too far with your mom.

Wild coincidence! I had never heard of Wuppertal in my life (because why would I)? Then right after watching your video I noticed that a guy on my Facebook group who used to be a cartoonist for the local newspaper for decades, was now living in Wuppertal! I actually messaged him saying I had just watched a video about the city, and he said he's lived there three years and rides the Schwebebahn every chance he gets. What are the chances?

That was great Mike ! Greetings from early morning Prague ( only 4 hours by train from Berlin, with Dresden in the middle ( 2 hours from both ). Just fyi in case decide on a few days trip. I was in Munich last month - what a great city and so much to see. The guy at the Bavaria statue told me that they take 3 months to build the Oktoberfest halls, and 3 months to take them down. My husband was in Berlin when the wall was being built in 1961 when President Kennedy sent the Air Force during the Berlin Crisis. He touched the shards of glass on the top of the berlin wall as it was being built.

This was a great video since many of us (I) will never be able to go see Germany! I have adopted family who live in Austria, Germany. Her name is Inge and her son Kurt Siedel. Yes you would definitely make a great model!! Your steaming hot mussels looked delicious!! All the people, clothes, and those sneaker shoes are really super cool !! I'm not one who falls for the designer clothing either, Mike. I always feel that we're lowering ourselves and putting the designer on some pedestal, and I don't feel that anyone is better than the rest of us. Germany is so beautiful this time of the year!!! I was there back in 1990 at the same time of the year. Yumm!!! The Mussels look delicious!!! I like to make a Garlic Butter Cream Sauce with them, but they look wonderful steamed, too!!!

I love to see meine alte Heimat. I lived in Duisburg, so pretty close to Krefeld. I suggested already that you should take your mom to the Cafe Waldsee. Maybe if I mention it again, you might see it. It's a fun place.
Happy for you you left Duisburg as nowadays it is unrecognizable. I come there nearly every week and always leave as fast as I came. And I don’t say this to make fun. As it hurts to see this once beautiful city turning into an African slum especially the past two decades.

The funny part is there is as much craziness going on in places aroud Dusseldorf as in LA, if not more. I agree with others. A wheelchair helps a lot!
