  • The fourth movement of Esai Falcon's senior project in composition at MSU Denver. The composer's note:
""Swords and Silphium is a composition centered around the shape and range of the timbral profiles the harp is capable of producing, and how such a timbral palette might elaborated upon with the aid of digital technology to further edit the sound; such as treating samples of plucks or strums with timestretching (prolonging or shortening the articulations or transposing
the pitch), fragmenting, sequencing, and reversal processes. The harp part was first arranged in MIDI alongside the drum machine part, and then parsed into single lines to record and sample before being sequenced once more alongside further re-arrangement and orchestration.
Harp performance by Ashley Stitt, thank you and thanks to Dr. Farrell and the music faculty of MSU!"
