I just wonder how many people make such experiments without turning it into a CZcams video. A quick search in EBay finds me 100s of these tubes for sale and they are also easily found in other online stores. Chances are you are not 1000s of miles away from some lunatic making an experiment in his hobby room with these things. No doubt that such x-ray gun could be used with very bad intents anywhere and it just underlines the importance of having your own Geiger counter.

We used military radar to heat (incinerate) meat pies. However, a civilian using Pye 100Kv x-ray tube, from an x-ray spectrometer, died three weeks after accidental exposure.
    Symptoms in order after exposure:
    1) Red burn mark on skin.
    2) Tingling skin immediately after exposure.
    3) Nausia
    4) Feeling much better.
    5) Blood under skin.

@Eddie Hitler probably not just the batteries. Im not electrician. Comment section is to comment but comment logic things instead of being super mom commenting NO ITS DANGEROUS DONT DO IT URE EXPOSED TO RADIATION... We all know it and he knows what hes doing. Its too late he was exposed u cant bring back Time re do all these things and remake video. Its cringe how people comment these things everyone the same that is every comment completly same saying same stuff why they need to make same comment to act smart when they just read another comment

First of all, i wouldn't do this bcs in most countries it's simply illegal to operate machinery producing ionizing radiation without proper shielding and/or a license to do so.
Second, overclocking this device so it emits even more radiation is just as dumb as ripping the brakes out of your car bcs it saves you weight in order to go faster.
But to all people who scream bloody murder and how they are going to die a horrible death because of immediate radiation sickness:
    No, you are wrong.
That is at least if my understanding of physics isn't totally fucked up and i also understood all their readings correctly.
The highest reading of stray radiation before they ramped up the acceleration voltage was 28 mR/h, meaning you get a dosage of 28 thousandths of a Roentgen
if you take that radiation for one hour straight, but they switched off after a mere couple of seconds.
A dose of one full Roentgen means an equivalent dosage of 9 mGy (MilliGray) and humans can take up to 1 Gy before developing acute radiation sickness.
Also the units Gray and Sievert use the same underlying units (Joule/Kilogramm) and are interchangable for non-particular radiation, i.e. Roentgen and Gamma rays.
The maximum permissible yearly dosage in most western countries is 1 mSv/a for an ordinary citizen and 8-10 mSv/a for a radiation worker.
So even if they took a full Roentgen over the later course of the experiment, they still wouldn't exceed what is deemed safe for somebody working e.g. in the nuclear industry.
    So, my conclusion is:
    - very dumb idea
    - illegal (at least where i live)
    - slightly increases your risk of developing cancer
    - definitely NOT an immediate death ray

you should NOT LEAVE THE FILAMENT powered on for more than 2-3 seconds at a time!! It will burn out quickly,,, it is not meant to run like a normal light bulb! only run the filament for 1-2 seconds before start the high voltage.. then immediately power it off once you no longer have the high voltage
your tube will last forever then(well , within reason) -- seriously you will end up with a burnt filament in just a couple minutes of use.

To make radiation do you need triple phase AC electric to heat the tungsten cathode. After the transformers increase the electricity in a direct current the cathode the next is to push the button so it shoots it off the tungsten target. That is what makes radiographic radiation. Did you ever have any radiographic film?

@Kreosan .. The person doing the English translation voice over is pronouncing the word "Lead" (the metal) wrong. He is saying "Lead" as in "to lead a horse to water" in this case he pronounces it as _Leed_ where as the metal "Lead" is pronounced as _Led_ (same sound as "Bed or shed" when saying "Lead" the metal)
    .
When he mentions the Lead Underpants at 11:50, he said "Leed Underpants" instead of "Led Underpants" .. Though this did give me a laugh when I heard his say "Leed Underpants" ... These Underpants are Lead-ing in technology and they don't use Lead acid batteries.
    .
Please let your translator guy know about this. He still does a fantastic job with the English words and putting it all together for us to understand and enjoy your video's.
