- Today we push the limits of Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury modding by making the green "Spike" enemy from Mario games throw things! There are a lot of funny Mario moments and funny animations that we see from Spike throwing random enemies, objects, characters, and even pieces of levels from both Super Mario 3D World and Bowser's Fury!
The new Super Mario 3D World + Bowser's Fury on the Nintendo Switch is fantastic, it has great gameplay, and I love seeing what funny and glitchy things we can see by making Spike throw a random assortment of objects! I've tried adding Bowser Jr to Super Mario 3D World and there's a lot of things that make doing that difficult, but funny enough, you can have a Spike throw Bowser Jr! Almost anything that Spike throws will behave just like the spike bars do normally, some things crash the game, and there are a few exceptions that behave really strangely!

In Super Mario 3D World, Spikes are called "Gabon" and we can edit "ThrowModel" - normally this is something like "NeedleRoller8M" (a long spike bar) or "NeedleRoller4M" (a shorter spike bar), and in this video, we give the Spikes things to throw other than the spike bars that they normally throw and see what work similarly to a spike bar, what crashes the game, and what works strangely :D - Hry

Interesting how spikes can throw more than just spiked bars,great vid.
the only reason they can throw more is because he retextured the models to have the models of the charcters he wanted to have pop out.
that's because in the normal game there are multiple models of "NeedleRollers" they can throw, so they just simply made it so you can pick the model.

Short answer: No but you can reskin the spike bar
we dont know for sure, when you throw a character the game crashes so they do have a different property

There are different models of spike bars that Spike can throw in the game (the wider and the shorter bars), and these are some results of giving some Spike something different other than the spike bars that he normally throws :D
It's funny that for a lot of these models, the game still acts like it's a normal spike bar for some of the models that you give Spike. And it's so cool to see all of the different ways that the game can act when we you make Spike throw something other than a spike bar!
- The spike bars can be given a different model and behave normally
- Spike is crushed immediately after he spawns an object
- The game crashes after the object is thrown
- The object doesn't appear
- The object appears but has no collision and doesn't move
- The object appears and has strange collision and only moves when the Spikes spawn another object
- The object appears and they don't explode on collision and overlap up until a point

Ever since the game launched, I've wondered what a playthrough of Bowser's Fury would be like if Fury Bowser was permanently furious from the very start. I don't even know if such a thing would be possible, but it's still interesting to think about how hellish such a playthrough would be.
That's such a cool idea! I was thinking of doing something like this sometime, it could be really interesting! I think someone might have created a mod for this, but even if nobody has made it yet, it shouldn't be too hard to find the timer for Fury Bowser and lock that value so that it doesn't run out :D Thanks so much for your comment, hope you have a great day!
