Bit of a random video, It's been years since I've played Kingdom Hearts 2 & I wanted to upload this Boss fight because Final Form Xenmas is my favorite Boss fight of all time & this was my first time ever beating a KH Game on Critical Mode xD

I always finished this battle like that too. Having Riku land the final blow with the limit break was just too fitting.
Honestly they set the bar really fucking high for this final boss I still think this is the best final boss in the series.

@@gumi6751 To be honest I'm ok with that, it's not really the difficulty but the overall atmosphere this fight evokes is what I love about this fight. Plus, the data fight is not so forgiving compared to the regular boss fight.
The laser deflection portion is my favorite moment in the entire series. This is the moment where I said “aaayyyeeeeee my boys ain’t playin!!!!”
Even though I died twice because I was too stupid to realised I had to press both x and triangle at the same time, it was so epic.

The synergy between Sora and Riku in this fight is the ultimate payoff in the entire series and the ultimate relationship goals. They grew up together, they fought, they went their own ways for a bit. But they ultimately came together and consistently had each others’ backs in this ultimate final battle. You can see them visibly go harder when either of them is compromised at any point in this encounter, and it’s so apparent that aside from their goal to take down Xemnas, each others’ safety is a primary directive. I love this fight so much.
This is still to this day my favorite final boss fight not just in kingdom hearts but in my whole years of gaming the way Riku takes most of the hits for sora even with a broken arm just shows how much he regrets what he did in 1 and you can see sora is mostly on offense in this fight which just makes sense for his character. And that’s why 2 is my favorite game the fights just have so much lore behind it when a fight is important it is IMPORTANT in a story standpoint
Honestly kh2 is just hands down the best game in the entire series. Maybe one of the best ones out there. Especially considering kh as a concept (FF+Disney) shouldn’t have worked. But it did cuz nomura is a great storyteller. I hate when people don’t want to give kh a try cuz they think it’s gonna be lame due to the Disney characters. I’m like you don’t know what you’re missing out on

I just wish that in kh3 sora Riku and kairi didn't feel that disconnected
They werent just back to back in the laser dome, they actively covered the other's blind spots. The speed and trust they needed to not only deflect projectiles moving at the speed of light from literally all angles is inhuman.

I love the symbolism at 4:08. Riku’s Keyblade faces down, like its wielder who went down a dark path, and Sora’s facing up, someone who has clung to the light. Now working together to fight the Nothingness in between that threatens them both
Its also better when you realize the reason sora is even able to dual wield is because of Ventus's heart inside him and the way he holds Riku's keyblade is in the style of Ventus

Seeing Xemnas' final attack left my mouth agape like Sora's at that same moment. I never saw anything quite like it in an RPG and it has to be one of my favorite battles in any game.
In my opinion, this is the best final boss in Kingdom Hearts.
Such an epic setpiece it was.

I know I am. The little cinematic Quick Time Events that was present F O R. E V E R Y. B O S S. with their own unique animations too, wasn’t present in KH3. Sure, we got those Disney rides, which were a very cute touch, but for most it got repetitive.

I think all of us are especially since the dlc added stuff for almost every other team. Coming off Kh3D which was a better game in my opinion had a great team attack for them as well. Like I feel kh3 is just a bunch of missed opportunities rolled into 1

Greatest final boss fight so far in video game history! Being surrounded completely by lasers and deflecting them desperately like two anime characters was beyond genius. Finishing cinematic where Sora saves Riku and they both finish Xemnas was also pure genius. I have extremely high expectations for the final boss fight of Kingdom Hearts 3 for good reason.
I'm honestly afraid that they won't top this, or even get close to this type of kino. All I can do is hope.

@@jokulle77 And that's the problem. KH2 was kino af, because you had a 3 stage boss fight with Xemnas, which had a cool setting like The World That Never Was. It was also free from tying up as many plot points as KH3 has to to proceed further. It's also largely the Osaka Team that is in charge of making KH3, so while there are people from the old team working on KH3, they might've taken a vastly different direction towards it. Nomura did say that the development was based on KH2, but I still have mixed feelings, and it'll be hard to top this KH2's final boss fight.

He fucked me up for hours when I first fought him but that was probably because I was under leveled lol I think I fought in at level 53

@@johnpantag472big difference between 2 and 3 is that Xemnas was powered by Kingdom Hearts during KH2's fight, while they're still trying to open it in 3. So it's no wonder he seems just as strong in 3, he's fighting weaker versions of opponents he already beat.
Never forget that line "you shall go together.."
It's we shall go together. And it shows that xemnas shows that can't win after all these fights so if he is gonna die he will take sora and Riku with him.

This final boss fight is vastly superior to Kingdom Hearts 3 final boss fight.
One thing that bothers me is that still even on lvl 99 xemnas does a lot of damage on critical but in kh3 xehanort does like no damage at all.
Xemnas is arguably one of the best bosses in video games, or at least final bosses. This game was ahead of it’s time
There was nothing more satisfying than being a kid and beating Xemnas after the 100th time fighting him. It took EVERYTHING IN ME to beat him lol. Mainly for the reason I didn’t know you could add abilities to sora (Ik Ik). I basically beat Xemnas with an ability-less sora. This Final boss fight has to be one of the best Final Bosses ever, when you fought him, you could feel the lingering doom that waits for you if sora and riku isn’t able to beat him. Also the fact everyone you fought with is somewhere else and all you have is your long lost best friend who you now have to fight alongside, with all your heart. It gave somewhat of a comfort in the darkness that was all around you.

Between not knowing about equipable abilities, and thinking I could completely ignore limit commands, I couldn't even get past Demyx on my first run of the game as a child. Such a fool I was.
Steez Harvey FR demyx was the hardest boss fight besides this one. It took me FOREVER to beat him

Holy frick.. this is unbelievably good. I’m speechless. Sora and Riku are incredible together, they’re in perfect sync.. like. Oh my god, especially when they were deflecting the lasers. This boss fight is a work of fricking art. It’s an actual masterpiece. And don’t even get me started on the music. It’s so beautiful and emotional..
I’ve seen a lot of boss fights, but this might be my new favourite. Not just because of how awesome it looks, but because of Sora and Riku’s friendship. I hope they’ll fight together again in Kingdom Hearts 4.

Though unlike Sasuke, Riku here was already on his way to losing his edgelord-ness and whatever little dickery his experiences with Ansem hadn't beaten out yet, which would be completely gone by the start of Dream Drop Distance. Riku here is already WAY better a man than Boruto-era Sasuke. But I guess the edgelord-ness, even one admitted by Nomura, to be based on Kain Highwind, is something that's never lived down.

This is by far my favorite boss fight in any KH game. Music, cinematics, the fight itself, it's top tier. My best friend (with NO knowledge of KH) walked in on me fighting Xemnas, asking about the fight, Sora, and the game as a whole. He watched Sora and Riku deflecting the lasers and said "Shit..that's a power scale you need to see to believe. These guys are badass."

Hands down the best villain in the saga. And, he downed peak Riku and Sora single handedly. Its just that in an act of desperation they managed to scrape a win against him. I feel they made Xemnas a jobber in 3D and KH3, since he was retconned back.

@@xen3588canon wise, KH2 is peak Sora but not peak Riku as the later got stronger by learning to wield both light and darkness, while Sora got depowered twice.
Heck he spends the entirety of KH3 trying to reclaim his power.
(Plus Riku's left arm is injured during the entirety of KH2, courtesy of Roxas, so it definitely isn't peak him.)

This final fight went DBZ and we loved it.
When I tell you this was the absolute coolest shit I had ever seen when I was 11. I remember turning my controller sideways to better button mash triangle and X for the laser part. I must have played this fight over 100 times
If anyone asks what defines a final boss, show them this video. This is THE greatest final boss fight in all of gaming. Many come close, but this tops everything.

I have been marathoning the Kingdom Hearts games since they came to PC, and the fight against Xemnas was the most hype moment in this series so far. The cinematics during the final phase blew my mind. The fact that this was originally on Ps2 was incredible. It is a technical marvel for the Ps2 and few games can have moments nearly as epic as this boss.

man riku took such a beating in kh 2. his wrist was still injured before he turned into ansem after his fight with roxas. and hew took serious blows from xenmas for sora.
these two have such great character arcs. Going from being secluded on an island fighting each other with wooden swords to taking on a master of darkness launching a barrage of ethereal blade laser beams at you and both are able to deflect every single one and perform combos in sync without a word of communication with each other. Perfect fucking teamwork. Reminds me of Naruto and Sasuke vs Momoshiki in the Boruto Movie.
