How to Strip Paint Off Wood Door | Best Paint Remover on Wood

Using steam to remove paint off an old door or window seems like a great way to avoid having to use harsh or toxic chemicals. We bought a garment steamer with a 70 oz reservoir to generate the steam needed to remove the paint.

Removing paint with steam is very simple. The steam causes the paint to buble and separate from the wood. The steam also softens the paint which helps cut down on paint chips and dust. Since lead paint dust is harmful, the water and steam seem to be a good combination for minumising the dust.
This process of stripping paint from the wood door does require some patience. But preserving the old windows and doors is worth the effort.

Use a Heatgun, this looks like it take way too long and paint stripper is way too expensive because of all the coats you need to put on.
