I still remember the bygone era of Summer 2018 when I first played this wonderful game. This was pre-Megapatch II. No 939. No SCP items. No Facility Guards. All the MTF had laser guns. No inventory hotkeys, only pressing TAB and relying on dexterity. Ammo counting devices, detaining tool, Chaos only had Logicers, for there was no subclasses. No custom viewmodels, inspect animations, realistic guns, a lot less rooms, and all the rooms are pretty much ripped from CB with some minor modifications. Corpses were all the exact same model. Radical Larry was in a state of eternal T-Posing. And still a lot more.
The game has definitely improved since then, but I'm still bitter about this one subtle change they tore away from the game.
It was the starry night skybox outside at either Gate. It fit so well with Melancholy. They had to take it away. Why? It was beautiful. It was something interesting, admirable, meaningful, abstract to gaze upon other than the bleak, bland, boring, and same-y old Surface Zone.
And yet, no one seems to care or know about it. My rant about my personal experience and fun memories from almost 6 years ago with this game now concludes.
I can definitely say I am proud of this game, despite its deficiency listed previously in this paragraph and all of its other shortcomings.

I'm sorry to the devs and their hard work, byt this was the best time to play ever. I feel like the devs nowadays really want to have a polished game that they can sell (which is understandable), but THIS is peak gameplay. A game with a few bugs that you could master to be the best player. The guns were indeed not balanced, but it did not matter because you still needed some skills to use them properly. I remember when you could do some tricks to jump on 914's main button, and the dogs could usually not see you up there, only the big players knew how to do that. Or when they added the computer, and you could do some parkour to jump on the cameras and surprise everyone. But now you can't do anything. Everything is patched/nerfed. Lol the dogs can't even speak to players now
i totally agree with you! and i'm not playing new scp sl anymore. the most likeable thing were the blasters in older versions. and froggie doggie was goofy af

i remember i used to play a lot and stopped playing as more updates came through, i started playing again and theres new rooms, and some have disappeared apparently like the one at 1:14 we would just all run there to get it and pray it spawned lol
too bad they've removed that room. It was a great hiding spot too.

im actually surprised the game is still around i remember when it first came out on steam and i was like oh this is a cool concept but idk if it'll stay around as ive seen a bunch of SCP games that died out but glad to see it still is around
