I think the washed out effect from the “water” tape actually works perfect! It basically halved the amount of information my brain needs to take in at the bottom of piece. It causes my eyes to drift back up the piece to the sky and then back to the kitten

I understand what you mean about the blue hiding the detail but you could see it all and it pulled the whole thing together. You just had to pay a bit more attention which is nice - a true layered piece. Great job!

These were all really cool!! My absolute favorite was the last one, however. I love that you put the blue tape over everything at the bottom for the water. Yes it does somewhat hide some of those details but not really. You can still see the details and with the water over everything, it really becomes very apparent what is going on in the illustration. I LOVE IT SO MUCH!! Probably one of my favorites you've ever done of any media. So creative and, for me at least, original. I've never seen anyone do this before.

It was my favorite as well! I would love to own one. And not a print of it, an actual washi tape version. I think I’m going to have to find similarly transparent tape and make some washi art myself (because I don’t have enough art supplies that I don’t use much already lol)

The ocean with the cat illustration is one of my favorite pieces from your work! The effect of the ocean is really cool! I personally feel like it doesn't lose the detail under the water at all. In fact I think it makes it flow really well with the parts above the ocean.
